After paying $1800 for work on my car I noticed a couple days later all of the silver coins (quarters, dimes and nickles) were picked from every place I had them in my car along with a bag that held a battery jumpstarter I would assume they used to steal said change. Never going back here again as that is really scummy to do after paying $1800 for repairs. I have no idea how much they took as I let it pile up for rainy days. If you decide to go to this shop, be prepaired to pay a double or even a triple of the amount they normally charge elsewhere at other shops. In our case a 1/2-hour job of replacement of a $69 "plug-and-play" aftermarket sensor cost us an unbelievable amount of $600.27 "We are for-profit company", responded the manager on the question of why the bill was so high. That probably should be translated into "You were desperate, your car won't start and we charged you whatever we wanted because ...we could!" read more

The Uptown location is closer to my house, but myself and my family have been treated so well at the Westerville Rd location, so we do not stray! I know enough about cars to be dangerous, but this is why I trust these guys with our vehicles. 1/21/21 I drop off a Civic for an oil change and to likely change the tire pressure monitor which has been on since I purchased the vehicle. If it has to be changed, I was told it could be as much as $180. I give them the go ahead to proceed, and get a call from Joel telling me that the tire pressure was just a few psi too high.....WHAT PLACE DOES THIS!?!?!? I have taken my cars and trucks here for over 12 years. Just recently my beloved 96 Grand Marquis developed AC problems. Not only did they diagnose and fix the easy problems, when they found out the automatic environment control head was not working and could not be replaced (out of production limited custom feature part) Kevin called Ford, received personalized tech notes from them, then torn down the control head and re-soldered the connections to get them to function! Took our vehicle in for noise coming from the front end. Left the vehicle all day until they had had time to fit me in. Was told nothing was broken, but the sway bars were worn, and a baring was also warn. Was told the car was safe to drive. After paying a surprise $100+ bill for them looking at the car, the noise continued to get louder. Took the car in 3 days later to another shop, to find out that the car was misdiagnosed, and that the PTU needed replaced. Waste of money. Would never use or refer this shop read more

Read the positive reviews here and decided to give Westerville Automotive a shot... Our AC stopped working and the check engine light had been on for awhile. Dropped the car after hours--convenient. Got a call first thing in the morning when they started working to confirm what we wanted done--very nice. But ultimately, mechanics found that we needed a new AC compressor and the cause of the engine light. They quoted us $1000+ for parts and labor to replace the compressor, which sounded high so we decided to go find another mechanic for a second opinion. And the check engine light was a non-issue. The total bill was ~$150 of work. They gave us 50% off because it only took 30 minutes to diagnose our issues. That was nice of them, but $75 is still expensive considering that nothing actually got done to fix the car. Grateful for their honesty in diagnosing our problems, but there are other garages in the area that do the same for free. read more

Spoke to Scott, at Westerville automotive later that day. we agreed to bring the truck back in and test/replace oil pressure sending unit. he agreed to pay labor and I purchased the part. truck is running fine again. although I still feel this part should have been replaced as part of jasper engines $500 installation kit. My car lost the timing belt and water pump on 270 on my way home from vacation last weekend. Local friends recommended I have it towed to Westerville Automotive for repairs. They have used this shop for over a decade. I couldn't be more pleased. While the repairs needed were more than what I was willing to put into my old 2001 Honda Civic, the price quoted was more than fair. They had to do some repair (which I authorized) in order to find out if the engine was okay. It was not. Ken was honest, patient, incredibly helpful and understanding as we dealt with several days of going back and forth as I made decisions on what to do about the car. He worked me into their busy schedule since I was from out of town and it was an emergency situation for me. Again, I couldn't be more pleased with their professionalism and integrity. Price was less than half what the dealership told me it "might" be. I highly recommend this place. I went to most of the Auto Parts stores in town looking for a place to get it fixed. It has always been difficult to find honest garages. Many will tell you there's something wrong with your car that isn't to get you to spend a lot of money. Westerville Automotive is not like that at all. Usually I don't keep cars very long so they are under warranty but the three or so times my husband and I have brought our cars here for problems, they have always been reasonably priced and honest. I thought my cv joints were bad. They checked them out and said my heat shields were making the noise. They tightened them up. It was only $100 for their time. They could have lied and said my joints were bad and charged me several hundred to replace them but they didn't. Granted I do ask for my original parts back. But this is the second time I've brought a car in and there wasn't anything major wrong. They are very honest and I appreciate that in a mechanic. One time there was something major wrong but they fixed it at a fair price. I recommend them. read more
