We came here after reviewing the menu and had a couple drinks and an app (cheese curds) and then tried to order our meal ... we wanted the steak frites but they said they were out, so we were considering the shrimp & grits or Monterrey chicken but our server at the bar overheard and said they were also out of the shrimp and grits. We have dined here before and overall it has been a four-star experience. Tonight was the exception. It was a solid two-stars. There was a car show going on with live music, so I thought that we would sit nearby to enjoy the festivities. Upon arriving, we were seated outdoors, under a restaurant speaker which conflicted with the live music. We asked to be seated in another section and were told that the server in that section might be slow to got to us. That was an understatement! But we were patient. It took probably 15 minutes for the waiter to show and another 15 - 20 minutes to get the beer that I ordered. Meanwhile, the couple next to us got impatient and left after not seeing a server for 15 minutes. Okay, I finally got my draft beer. It was good and helped with the wait. Our server was a nice guy but was either new or not particularly motivated. About 15 minutes after receiving my beer, our order was finally taken. After a good long wait, my wife received her salad. And I waited, and I waited. After she was half through her meal, mine finally showed. Either the chef or manager apologized saying that the first batch of chicken didn't turn out well, so they re-made it. I had ordered the Deep South Mac and Cheese. The Mac and Cheese itself was a nice bend of cheese and pretty good. The chicken nuggets were different. I really liked the spicy rub that they used, but it tasted like catfish. I wondered if that came from the fryer grease or if it was the rub. Still it was an intriguing flavor. My wife had the house salad. She said it was just okay. She also had the French Onion Soup. Probably the worst I've ever had. It was served in a shallow pan filled mostly with bread. All-in-all, the service was horrid on this night and the food, just okay. They do have a nice location and good beer, I just hope the service improves. I would hate to see another restaurant shut down is Westgate. Nice bar! My brother and I had a great time here. We ordered their wild berry margarita and tried their sangria as well. Both were very flavorful drinks. We shared the chicken nachos and I was impressed by how delicious they were. I promise it wasn't because I was drinking. These nachos were beyond good and I wish i had an empty stomach to try more food but I will come back for that reason. Recommend this bar if you're in the area. Try their nachos ! read more

Had a family 11 top in today 2/7/26 before Supercross. We were there for at least 45 minutes before our drinks came and after over two hours and no food we paid for the few drinks we had and left. Our waitress was behind the bar more than she was taking care of us. With our party being so big and not busy at the time they lost out on a large order and tip. We were really looking forward to our lunch and have always gone there but will not be back. So sad!!!! read more

The food and drinks were all right. We got there on a Saturday afternoon. We wanted to sit outside, but it got chilly, so we proceeded to an inside bar table. One male waiter comes up, opens the large sliding-type door right behind us, and now we are sitting in a drafty area, freezing, as it is now very windy out too. He said he'll come back to check if we are cold, never came by again. We were close to finishing our food, but we could have stayed longer and enjoyed another round of drinks if we were not freezing. Another annoying thing- the drink menu has no prices listed on it, and a printed bill is not brought to you at the end, just the waitress comes with the card reader, tells you a total verbally, and that is it. So they expect you to just go by trust? The number if times I found added extra items in a restaurant...I taped on a print bill at the end and nothing; no idea if the bill was correct or not, apparently they offer points if you join by scanning the QR code on the receipt ... who knows why this was not offered ?! Such a terrible way to treat customers. No wonder they had to file for bankruptcy recently. I will try another place next time. I went there for Salt, which was closed too, probably due to the crazy parking fees they charge everyone whenever they have events, even If you dont attend a concert. Such a cool vibing place with disappointing food. We were visiting from California for baseball tournament and we decided on this place. The ambiance is cool, place is clean with plenty of seating for large groups. The only reason I'm giving this place 3 stars is because of the staff. Serving a group of 30+ is no easy task. They were all helpful and had a lot of patience to say the least! No easy task serving 11 families + kids! But then we got our food... every was just ok. My food was bland and to top it off cold.. as soon as they brought my food I could tell it wasn't cooked enough to even be hot enough to eat. I didn't feel like speaking up only because we came in with such a large group.. everyone just settled on food choices. No one was thrilled on any of their picks and it's unfortunate. Having such a limited menu definitely calls for perfection and it missed the mark. After a near deafening and awful experience at a bar nearby we desperately needed to gain our hearing back and save our night with better service, drinks and service. We found that at Bar Louie on Saturday, I was shocked to walk into such a beautiful yet empty spot. The bar was beautiful, clean and noise level actually manageable. I knew this was our spot. As we found a seat at the bar others started to trickle in. We were greeted quickly and given some menus to look over. The beer on tap was quite large and I loved the cocktail options. There were two bartenders so we didn't have to wait long when we needed a new drink etc. the staff was friendly and efficient. The furniture didn't look cheap, seats cozy and if you wanted to sit at a table to eat they were great size. Did I mention they have a second room with another bar and beer on tap. It was not being used Saturday, but in busy days they definitely have the room. There is also outside seating. We did not try any food this go round, but it looked like they had some tasty options. My review is solely based on the bar area. I loved the lonestar strawberry lemonade as well as the lemon drop. Beer was cold and good. Prices are what you expect from west gate especially with cocktails. We'll definitely be back. From start to finish we enjoyed our experience. read more

This place was a lifesaver as hubby and I couldn't eat anywhere else due to overcrowding from the football game fans. We located 2 seats at the bar to snuggle into. We were instantly greeted by Tony who made this visit everything. We typically don't eat at this chain restaurant because we had one locally that struggled a little in the food preparation dept. Welp, this place wasn't that much different as we ordered Louie's Choice Cheeseburger, Long Island Iced Tea, The Staycation, Boneless Buffalo Wings and Tater Tots. Super long wait. They were super busy. Hubby said he liked his burger. My boneless wings were overcooked and less than room temperature when they arrived to the table. Tater Tots were luke warm. Sent those boneless wings back w the swiftness. Terrible experience tonight. Went to a concert at the Desert Diamond Arena. Went to grab some food (wings and a beer) at this establishment around 11:30 and was told they couldn't serve me because I was intoxicated? When I inquired (because I was fine) they told me my eyelids appeared tired and they couldn't serve me. Keep in mind this waitress had not even spoken to me yet. We asked to talk to a manager and they told me they could not serve us. Again, they had not had any interaction with us, only a security person that checked our ID on entry and another person passed our table several times as we were debating on what to order. What a super judgmental place! And then when we decided not to give them our business and leave they had the audacity to have security follow us to our car. I will never do business with this company. There are many other choices to dine in this area like yard house, etc. Honestly no clue what contributed to their behavior. Enjoyed my meal but was overcharged for a house red wine during happy hour hour. My $7 glass cost me $12.49. Waitress said cuz it's a blend. I never asked for a blend. She just smiled. You have found it This was not my first time I've gone here for drinks with friends prior to a concert on the Westside. It won't be my last. Sadly, Bar Louie's happy hour prices have gone up. However, it seems like most things have these days. They're still very reasonable for beers, flatbreads, and other appetizers during their happy hour. As a bonus, if the concerts on a Tuesday it's half price burger night also. I don't like the pay for nearby parking that kicks in prior to a concert. However, Bar Louie's knocks the price of parking off of the bill if you show your pre-event, paid parking stub. read more

A cute place for food and drink. I found them on the 4th of July! Out with my daughter, we were just looking for something to snack on! Walking into a big open concept. The bar is smack dab in the middle. I like it! The Bartender can see all tables and bar tops from most angles! Clever! We ordered their Grilled Cheese Sandwich with loaded fries. The Sandwich came out and it was perfect. Crispy on the outside and cheesy on the inside. It was paired alongside a small bowl of tomato bisque! The soup was almost better than our sandwich! Full of flavor, I had to dip the sandwich in the soup! Match made in heaven. I also tried a beer that was tasty. I totally forgot the name though. My server picked it out for me. Out and about in Westgate on a scorching Thursday evening, I had my sights set on Yard House. With a wait at the door, Bar Louie was the next up. Bar Louie offers up pub grub with some creative touches in sports bar surroundings. I settled in with a pint and a a Bourbon BBQ chicken sandwich; they were out of the makings for my first choice (That's My Jam: bacon + arugula + herb cream cheese + bourbon jam + garlic aioli). The Bourbon BBQ sandwich (bacon + cream cheese + cheddar + fried onion strings + bourbon BBQ sauce) was tasty but the sauce could've used a lot more zing. The chicken was moist but underseasoned. Checking out the area, looked like an ok place so we decided to give it a shot. Well the service was slow, the drinks were watered down and the food was below average. I ordered the California chicken club, and the chicken breast (see picture) was about half the size of the bread. The "loaded" fries had a small drizzle of cheese on a couple of fries and a couple bacon bits. Ran out of drinks and water before the server was able to check on us, and I don't have the time to explain how small the wife's burger patty was or the fact it was missing the sauce and undercooked. Experience: If you're looking for a fun spot to grab some drinks and snacks, Bar Louie in Glendale's Westgate Entertainment District is a great choice. I highly recommend trying their boneless buffalo wings. The bbq were flavorful and had just the right amount of kick. Their lemon drop martinis are also a must-try, especially on Martini Mondays when they're discounted. Oh, and their loaded tots are a must-try! While the food was good, I would say it's just average bar food - nothing particularly exceptional, but still tasty. The service was friendly and attentive, and the ambiance is great for a night out with friends. I had a great experience. We went for a concert and had drinks and half price appetizers before. I had a Jack and coke which as simple as it sounds isn't always good. Bar Louie got it right. Also I had a chicken quesadilla which was as good if not better than any of the Mexican restaurants in town. Service was also great and we had a big party of ten that arrived at all different times to make it as tough as possible on the poor server. Unfortunately, we found out after sitting at the table and ordering drinks that it was a limited menu due to a game of some sort being played around the corner. The food was good, but just tasted a little all around pre-made. It was definitely an overpriced alcohol menu, at least for what you get. The strawberry lemonade sangria was in a very small pitcher filled mostly with ice. And each drink ranged from $12-$15 for very little alcohol.
