OMG this place is SO bad. We were staying overnight in the area, and Bar Louie was within walking distance of our hotel, so we decided it would be fun to take an evening stroll over for dinner and drinks and not have to worry about driving. Since we'd never been here before, and the menu looked appetizing, we stopped in. The hostess was nice and we were seated immediately on their large outdoor patio. It should've been a warning flag that there were so few people in the restaurant, especially during the weekday Happy Hour. It took us a while to be greeted, but we finally were. Everything on the menu looked so good, so it was tough to decide on drinks and snacks. We settled on a Bourbon Spice cocktail ($11) and a glass of Rose Prosecco ($10). It took a long time for our drinks to come out, even with hardly anyone in the restaurant. My prosecco order was wrong. It was a glass of Rose wine, NOT prosecco. Took me about 10 minutes to finally get someone to tell about the mistake. A girl took my glass back and never returned. When our server finally came back around, I told her. She went back to check, then came back with ANOTHER glass of rose wine, NOT prosecco. She said "sorry we ran out, this is the closest thing we have." She did give me the wine on the house, but I asked for a glass of regular prosecco (that would be the closest thing they'd have, but whatever). I did eventually get that, and it was flat with hardly any bubbles. What a poor first impression, and I was still charged $5.50 for the glass of flat sparkling prosecco (it was the Happy Hour price at least). We ordered fried pickles as an appetizer. The menu photo made them look so yummy and homemade, but we were served something that obviously came out of a prepared freezer bag. The pickles were so salty that they were inedible and really gross. Hubby asked for more of the dipping sauce, but "we ran out." Whatever. For dinner, I got the seared salmon ($18). Hubby got the cheese steak dip with loaded fries ($15). On the menu, the salmon was described as "Atlantic salmon, kale and quinoa blend, shredded brussels sprouts, bacon, arugula, radishes, house-made lemon vinaigrette." Imagine my surprise when my dish had RICE in it. Nothing on the menu said rice. Yuck. The fish was tasty enough. Hubby's sandwich was pitiful, and he said the fries were "old and cold." Nothing about the food was appetizing. The service was slow and mostly unattentive, but we tipped well because so many people are hurting right now. Our total check before tip was $75.48, which was a crazy price for this mediocre bar food. As we were leaving, we saw other empty tables with half eaten food. The remnants left behind looked pretty gross, especially the "bar bites." The pretzels were obviously frozen, and the spinach dip looked even worse. Glad we didn't order those! read more

Westgate Location, if attending a game or event go early as it will be packed. Always clean, and rustic feel. Came for appetizers before a pre birthday event. Food; My favs are the pretzel bites so yummy, and the four cheese flatbread is always great for appetizers. Adult beverages ice cold. Service; very friendly but they can get busy. read more

This is in all honesty my favorite bar in Phoenix. Rick and John are some good dudes, they'll take care of you with welcoming customer service and make you feel like a friend, not a buying customer. My daughter and I went there for lunch on a Sunday around 11 and it was empty. However, the staff was amazing and so attentive and kind. Our waitress, Vanessa, was such a doll!! She recommended adding grenadine to my daughter's lemonade to make it fancy and my daughter loved it! She recommended getting the app as random guests get a free appetizer when they set up an account. We did!! The food was delicious and service even better. Bar Louie is an excellent alternative to going to Yardhouse right next door. They are typically not very crowded on most nights and their drinks are priced well. They have a lot of options on tap and have great bartenders. The decor is excellent too with multiple large TVs that are easily visible from the bar. We received a warm welcome from the hostess and unforgettable customer service from our servers, despite the heavy crowd after the last Arizona home game of the 2023 NFL season. Nicholas is an stellar bartender. I am quite picky when it comes to my martinis (Kettle one, no vermouth, and slightly dirty with blue cheese stuffed olives). Nicholas was respectfully understanding and fully understood why vermouth does not pair well with a dirty vodka martini. It was made so well, one good turn deserves another. As for the old fashion, my boyfriend ordered it spirit forward and it was made to order. The food was delicious and paired well with our beverages. Such a treat to try something new. Met the girls from work here. It was a quieter Thursday night. I think everything was running a bit slow as there was a party being catered in their private room, or at least an area separate from thr main area. Also one large group in the middle. We were in no rush as we were catching up. As the huge trays of pretzel bites, sliders, fries and salad walked by I was psyched. Everything looked delicious. Bar Louie's does not offer any allergy free nor gluten options. Their kitchen isn't designed to prevent cross contamination even on salads. I had a side salad, with my own dressing, fries, and broccolini. All were sides off the menu. My choice due to sensitivities.The fries were delicious. The side salad tiny but good. The broccolini was unedible tough stems. The bite of the mini crown It took forever to chew. I mean forever! The dish also took until after we were all done eating. Freshly roasted? Over roasted? The Flatbread pizza had pepperoni that needed more spice, but okay (per friend) looked yummy to me! Burger and tots were a hit, and the calamari had a few chewy pieces, but overall was very good. They make a very very tasty dirty martini. Matt our server was great. Another gal brought us our food and she was super too. She even took our group photo for us. Stick with the pretzel bites, fried food, burgers and drinks. They had a happy hour which was very generous on drinks and a mix of food. I left hungry, but had a pleasant time. Went off hours. No games in the area, mid day, before happy hour. The interior, as others have mentioned, smells funky. I realize it's a bar... but I was glad we could sit outside. I shared buffalo wings with my son and had their vegetable flat bread. My son had their burger. Wings were not very good but my flatbread was very good. Lots of good veggies including chunks of artichoke, a great cream spinach base and a little kick from the jalapeño. Came here for brunch with my sorority sisters. I got the unlimited Mimosa (limited to 5) for $15. They were refreshing and went well with my meal. I walked into Bar Louie and I suffer from chronic migraines & wear sunglasses sometimes and the bartender "Jerome" said his bartender felt uncomfortable serving me without unexplained reasoning other than being overly intoxicated. This was far from the truth and bar Louie needs to consider this for future customers. Also, we were ID'd at the door and then a second time at the bar. I find this unusual and we are people of color. I hate to be that person but I didn't see anyone else of color ID'd a second time. Our bartender was a Caucasian blonde woman who wouldn't deal with us so she sent "Jerome" also a person of color to "deal" with us. I'd hate to get a lawyer involved but this felt like racial profiling, do better next time Bar Louie. read more

I've been to Bar Louie years ago and this is terrible. We went out to Westgate for a date and the Yard House had a long wait so we went here. It wasn't too busy which would excuse half of the problems. Food comes out cold instead of hot and my salad came out hot instead of cold, It's obvious it sat in the window forever. The waiter is no where to be found, the avocado was brown and it was pretty bad. They have a nice patio to people watch though. read more
