Walking into a restaurant at 12:30 in the afternoon and no one is in there is a red flag. But was excited to try under new management. This is so disappointing. This place used to have great wings. Very little crisp, good size, but taste, well there was very little. If this is hot I don't know what the mild would taste like. And the mango habanero is all mango no habanero . Sauce to wing ratio was more like a dry rub than any sauce on the wing. Wife got a cheeseburger sub. Dry roll and not much to the sub. The waitress came out and got our drinks, then our order, then brought our food, then MIA. My wife wanted more ice tea but could not find the waitress. Had to get another waitress to get our bill and a to go cup of tea. My favourite part was the Spanish rap music coming out of the kitchen. Rap is bad enough but Spanish rap is worse. Was there not too long ago one night with coworkers to grab a few drinks at the bar and we split a stromboli. It's still holds up but the bar is getting run down. My husband and I have this ongoing conversation about little locally owned joints that have been around forever and how they have to have something good that keeps them in business despite competition and chains with brand recognition. We walked into Westgate on a Saturday night, around 8, with low expectations and high hopes. There weren't very many people in the dining room. The menu looks really old school. Still we walked in with what we would be having in mind and ordered just that despite being tempted by numerous options on the menu. We wanted chicken wings and pizza. I'm a wing traditionalist- I like a medium buffalo sauce- and my husband prefers the weird stuff. I won this night and we got the buffalo. We also ordered a medium pizza with half mushrooms and half sausage and sautéed onions. I then later ordered some pierogies because carbs are yummy. The wings came out first and looked really good. Saucy. The way I like them. They appeared to have some kind of dredge on them but it was light and helped the sauce cling and gave them a little extra crispiness. We devoured them. They were absolutely delicious. I asked for celery but I guess our server didn't hear me because we didn't receive any. Our pizza came out a little smaller than I expected but it looked amazing as our server set it down on the table. The crust was puffy and my perfect shade of golden brown. The division of toppings was a little muddled but that was fine too. It was nice that when I picked up a slice to eat it, the slice could support it's own weight and didn't droop disappointingly. The cheese blend was delicious. As was the sauce. I am still talking, days later, about the amazing crust. It wasn't just a bland base for the toppings. It had flavor and character that I really enjoyed. The pierogies were clearly Mrs T brand but they were cooked with butter and onions and I enjoyed them. Our server told us she was new but she got answers to our questions and kept our cups topped up with Diet Coke. The prices were low. We received great service and we really enjoyed the food. I tried to call in my order. I called twice . They didn't pick up the phone. So I work close by and I just stopped in: they were not busy and took my order quickly. Order came out fast. I got the order back to work and it was cold. ( cheese not melted) meat was Luke warm. After I heated it up it had good flavor. The value for what I paid for was very reasonable. Service was friendly and professional. They have a nice selection on their menu. They even offer a children's menu. The worst thing Is that they only take CASH. Keep in mind I only went to the bar portion located on the side end of the building, and I am comparing this to like bars. But its a small town bar, usual everyday people taking the edge off. Karaoke can be entertaining to watch. Fist walking in for really do not expect the layout to have a somewhat balcony level inside. All the usual domestics are on tap with a to go cooler as well. Usually there is a decent to good craft beer option or two on tap as well. Price are pretty good and I have never really been disappointed. The wings are tasty in my opinion only rivaled by the Kadillacs in york haven. There is an ATM inside, or go to the rutters near by for a fee free atm. They do only take cash, but I get it. I wish I didn't like this place. It's definitely highly caloric. It's a hole-in-the-wall. Yet it has memories. After work in 1998, my best friend and I would pop in for pizza, wings, beer... all the good bad stuff. This bar is dark and stank. I like the dark, cause you can see less stank. The clientele on this fine Friday night is the age range of 40-65. Most are wearing bandannas or nascar hats. There is a middle aged woman getting dry humped by a much older drunk dude across the bar. Next to me is a super loud racist chick talking shit on "the blacks". I cannot believe she has not gotten thrown out yet for just being a dick. My beer is good but my dirty glass is not. Just around the corner from Regal Cinemas, this is a good choice for pre- or post- movie watching. Entire restaurant is smoking - which for us was the only downside. They have an adequate selection of beers - most are domestic, and 2/3 are light, but I had a Bass and my friend had a Blue Moon. They also offer amazingly tasty pizza for a very low price - we each had a beer, and split a medium pizza, and the tab was $11- The same as you'd spend for a medium soda and popcorn at the theater. This place definitely caters to smoking clientele. Went to see the Love Haters here, there was a $4.00 cover charge. Great band but very small venue for dancing. There was no table service, but was able to get Tanqueray and tonic promptly from a packed bar from a friendly, efficient bartender. There is a second floor balcony area that would possibly give respite from the pervasive smoke, but we elected to leave after the second set. The food here is great, all the wing sauces are made from scratch, they have some of the best fish and chips I've had, and the pizza is really good. If you're looking for a great local dive bar, the smoking lounge is honestly one of the best I've been to in my travels across almost all 50 states. westgate has the best wings and pizza and their subs are pretty great too! there are two parts of this place - the restaurant side which faces kenneth road and the lounge side that faces the side of the rutters. the lounge (aka bar) is extremely smoky but i believe the restaurant side is non-smoking. great prices, excellent food, good service....love it! read more

My family and I have recently started ordering over the phone and having food delivered from there on the weekends. The staff is very friendly and the delivery time is faster than most pizza places. If I could give negative stars I absolutely would. To be fair though, if you are a regular and are there to drink, you must think it's five star; you don't get flagged, drink what you want, it's perfect. If, however, you happen upon this place with a friend, than I'd say turn around, there are WAY BETTER places within a few miles, it's not worth your time, or money. The fact that I'm even wasting my time on a review relates to the fact that, not only myself, but my DD, were both 'flagged' with our aforementioned friend. The bartender decided that since our friend was intoxicated and should be flagged (correct assessment, in her defense) that myself, and DD should also be flagged. Please, keep in mind 'regular' customer, who (at this point) can barely form complete sentences, it's still being served. I will be meeting with the manager and hopefully owners at some point tomorrow. My frustration reaches beyond simply being annoyed or angry for being flagged.
