First off- staff is wonderful. Servers are friendly and work hard. Second- food is delicious and drinks are well made. Only reason it's a 3/5 is the noise level. It's high ceilings and wood floors, small space, and gets very busy. So it's a perfect storm for screaming at the person you're with across the table. My friend and I realized we both love Bourbon so we were so tickled to find in their massive book of whiskey selections, a bourbon flight to try from Jefferson distillery. We shared a lovely app of toasted sourdough with goat cheese and carmelized apples along with a pear salad( which was delicious even though the dressing looked unappetizing) and a BBQ chicken pizza. This is downtown York Pa and the restaurant was absolutely beautiful. The interior was modern which had a nice atheistic feeling. We had Kyle who was amazing, fast, funny and attentive. Last time I visited this place was 2 years ago and I had a great experience, I was excited to come back to this location but I was extremely disappointed. The Food was sub par, I ordered a pretzel and beer cheese and it tasted like I got a frozen pretzel from giant with some average cheese. The pizza I ordered tasted like bread with some buffalo sauce and cheese. Nothing like I had experienced before. The food has definitely gone down hill since last time I visited. Ended up staying a lot longer than I planned just chatting with Summer, the bartender for the night. She made an amazing smoked old fashioned, nice and smooth. The pretzel was soft and the unique beer cheese was flavorful. We ordered the pork loin which looked and tasted more like ham and not a true loin. But it was still really good. We placed our food order around 5:50, but food did not begin arriving at the table until 6:40--and at that point, only the grilled cheese. The two people in our party who were still waiting for their meals insisted that the rest of us leave for the theater. I ended up sharing half of my grilled cheese so they would have something to eat, which turned out to be necessary: their risotto arrived very late and was overly salty. They had to rush through their meals and ultimately arrived at the show about 10 minutes after it started. Since you can't give half stars, I rounded up for them rather than down. My thought process is probably 3.5 stars. Definitely better than MEH, but not in the "very good" category either. Another 10 minutes go by and no drinks. The waitress comes back and asked if we would like an appetizer. We decide it's probably a good idea to order while she's at the table and we have her attention, so we did. We also asked about our drinks. Another 10 minutes later, the appetizer comes out and still no drinks. The waitress seemed a little upset that we inquired about our drinks again (which magically appeared after our second inquiry). We ended up getting a pizza for the table as an appetizer, which was perfect. The perfect amount, and honestly very good. We got the fig and pig. In fairness, our drinks were well-made, can't say worth the wait, because they were not special, but at least they weren't wrong or bad after all that time. The entrées were a mixed bag. One person got the risotto, which was tasty, but very salty. Another got one of the burgers, I don't remember which one, but it ended up being the best entree at the table. One other person got the salmon, the sides of the salmon were green beans and tomatoes, which ended up being the hit of the dish. The salmon was flavorless. Lastly, I rounded out the table with the Gorgonzola gnocchi. Interesting dish, well-made and tasty. However, you have to be in love, I mean, infatuated with blue cheese/Gorgonzola or else you won't like this dish after three bites. It is very rich, very heavy Gorgonzola flavor. I ate it all because I do adore blue cheese, but it was even a bit much for me. Overall, food is OK. Service team seems to be indifferent. When I had mentioned that we have been sitting here for over 45 minutes and we are still waiting on our drinks, the bartender had gotten an attitude and stated that no we haven't been there that long when we actually have. He threw his hands up like he was aggravated. We watched him make drinks and serve it to people that came way after us so this was just unacceptable. Food was good, but it came out earlier than our drinks. While we were there, it looked like the pipes also broke at the bar, so there was a leak. The only thing we were offered was half off of our drink that we waited over 45 minutes for so that just seemed a little bit disappointing and I just felt maybe there could've been a little bit more to be done.
