We hit up the restaurant on a gorgeous Friday afternoon and were seated outside overlooking the river. The Lad was back from his expedition to the desert, and so the riverside view was appealing for many reasons. We talked about protecting Aboriginal relics in the southwest and testing tribal remedies against similar African homeopathic treatments from his nine-month journey across the world. This was the lad's first meal back in the States. We came straight from the airport. The River Rocks looked tasty on the menu but were even better out of the bucket. Sausage, cheese, marinara, and pepperoni - like Stromboli bites with just enough salt and juice to satisfy. They were HEAVY, which made us glad to have only ordered the six and not the ten count. The Lad ordered a massive burger (see photo), which he devoured faster than he should have. He said it was the best burger he'd had in months. The fries were abundant and flavorful. The cocktail was on special - the name escapes me, but it resembled concentrated OJ in a margarita glass. The Lad enjoyed it with the burger. It wouldn't be my choice to pair with the dish, but to each their own. I had chicken sliders, which were moist inside with a delightful, crunchy breading on fresh slider rolls. The chips were the least appealing. They were dipping chips, which worked with the marinara from the River Rocks, but beyond that represented a LOT of blandness on an otherwise great plate. Our server was fantastic and fast. The restaurant was clean and bright, especially on this beautiful afternoon. It is not inexpensive to eat there, but definitely worth it. read more

I stopped into Dockside Willie's in Harrisburg for a business dinner and honestly I walked out pretty impressed. We did ended up waiting a good while to get seated even though half the sections looked empty. I'm guessing they were short staffed that evening because the place wasn't slammed. Once we finally sat down though, things picked up quick. Our server was friendly and the food came out fast. The burger was no joke, thick, juicy, and cooked just right. My co-workers also ordered pizza and that crust was spot on: nice crunch on the outside but still soft and chewy where it counts. The fries were crispy too, and dipping them in the BBQ sauce was straight up addictive. Everything had good flavor and felt fresh. I definitely would go back when I'm in the area. I've been to Dockside Willie's a handful of times over the years, but after my most recent visit, it's officially time to give them their Yelp moment -- because something truly unexpected (and incredible) happened. An adventure buddy and I decided to stop in on a gray, cold, rainy Thursday night as a little "you can survive one more workday" pep talk dinner. Dockside's parking lot is...let's call it ambitious in size (read: tiny and always full), so we parked across the street in the much larger lot and played a thrilling round of "cross the road during rush hour and hope for the best." Character building. We arrived around 5:30pm and found it busy but manageable. We were seated quickly at a booth near the bar, and our server was fantastic -- super friendly, attentive, and on top of drink refills the entire time. No complaints there at all. Instead of going the full entrée route, we decided to split a few things to maximize the experience. We ordered boneless wings in River Sauce ($12.95), 10 River Rocks ($14.50), a crab quesadilla ($16.95), two Diet Pepsis ($7.00 total), and a slice of peanut butter pie ($6.95) for dessert. Grand total: $61.86 before tip -- which honestly caught me a little off guard. For what felt like more of a "snack-style dinner" with no alcohol, it added up quickly. Just something to keep in mind going in. As for the food, everything was...good. The boneless wings were big, saucy, and satisfying. The River Rocks were tasty, though they felt a bit smaller (and pricier) than I remember. The crab quesadilla was massive, but leaned heavily on cheese, onions, and peppers, with the crab playing more of a supporting role than the star of the show -- a little disappointing at that price point. Overall, solid, but nothing that really stood out as a must-have. And then...dessert happened. We ordered the peanut butter pie -- described as "super rich peanut butter filling on an Oreo cookie crust with Hershey's chocolate syrup and Reese's crushed peanut butter cups." And let me just say...this pie absolutely stole the entire show. The filling? Unreal. Dense in the best possible way -- like, block-of-cream-cheese-thick dense. Packed with peanut butter flavor, not overly sweet, and a generous portion that made every bite feel like a commitment (in a good way). This is the kind of dessert that makes you stop mid-conversation and go, "Wait...hold on...this is REALLY good." For $6.95, it was easily the best value of the night -- and honestly one of the better peanut butter pies I've had in a while (and I do not take peanut butter pie lightly). Next time? I might flip the script -- grab a lighter (and slightly less expensive) dinner somewhere else and head to Dockside Willie's specifically for that peanut butter pie. Always my go to when I'm staying in Harrisburg PA. I get the fish and chips with garlic parm sauce and the Reese's homemade pie to top off the night. Dockside Willies is a staple of Harrisburg. We always love going here. The vibrant signage out front just calls you in! Who doesn't love the neon green outside! We love the food here! Whether you are getting a loaded baked potato, burger, stack, or river rocks they are always delicious and huge portions. We sat at the bar (place has tons of seating, but can become severely overcrowded). The bar tenders didn't crack a smile once and the male just seemed unamused to be there. I came here a few months ago with two of my friends. I ordered the Watermelon Mojito drink & it was colorful + super yummy! My friend & i both ordered the 1/2 lb angus burger & fries, and neither of us really liked the burger enough to eat it. It was extremely dry, lacked flavor & we had it removed from the bill, which we don't usually do. Our waitress was very nice however & there was plenty of parking. Love the comfortable River setting on the Susquehanna! My wife ordered the Orange Chicken Star with Saureed Vegetables with Mixed Vegetables, she said the Chicken & Vegetables were perfectly cooked. I went with the BLACKENED MAHI TACO Fresh mahl blackened to perfection atop a bed of our kickin' honey slaw then topped with our fresh mango salsa and lime sour cream. Served with a side of rice. I ordered a cup of Chili as an appetizer. Made with prime rib, black angus, and special beans and spices. Topped with Cheddar and Red onions. Personally I would have liked more spice kind of Bland nothing special. Overall the meals were hot and tasty except for the Chili's blandness but the spice in the taco made up for it. My apologies. I thought I had deleted this after further reflection. But it will not let me change the two stars rating. But I want to make it clear this is not a 2 star place and it deserved better. I started to post a review when I was upset and disappointed that the Chicago hot dog ordered from the summer specials menu did not measure up to a true, authentic Chicago dog. It was not a Vienna beef frank, no sport peppers, and the poppy seed roll was not up to typical Chicago dog standards (based on having had them many places, not just Chicago). That said, everything else we had ranged from very good to outstanding. The service was great. My drink was a tad weak, but I suspect that was because the crushed ioce melted quickly and diluted it. Bigger cubes would be better, especially in the heat of the summer. Also should mention that we have been there a number of times previously and this is the only time we have had even a small issue. While I wish the dog had been more authentic, shame on me for expecting that, too. I would never order a Cheesesteak outside of the greater Philly area unless I knew the place was run by Philly ex-pats. That was the case with the Chicago dogs I have had outside of Chitown. I should have known better than to expect authentic at a place that doesn't actually specialize in them. If I could edit that rating, I'd go 3.5 stars, maybe even 4. First, this is my 10yo grandson's favorite restaurant. He loves the kids Fish & Chips (even though they are regular fries). We joke that he can get a (root) beer or an (ginger) ale. Today he wanted something stronger (he had a rough soccer game) so he chose the Mango Bango mocktail & loved it. The server was wonderful and made him a Shirley Temple to cheer him up. I had a salad stacker. It was delicious, very fresh. I did notice that they use frozen avocado slices, probably because they don't have many dishes with avocado. But best of all was enjoying the deck with the beautiful roof that provided shade from the afternoon sun and then the rain. The patio furniture was very comfortable. We were here 2 weeks ago as soon as they opened. Host/hostess always super nice. This time we were seated in the back by the windows. Now, here is where this time was so disappointing!! Our waitress was absolutely terrible. It took her forever to come over to us because she was too busy gabbing. Mind you they just opened so they were not busy yet. So we put in our order for appetizers in our meal our appetizers it literally must've took 1520 minutes to get the appetizers and then immediately maybe 10 minutes later the food came out. It was absolutely ridiculous. We did not have time to eat our appetizers. Service absolutely sucked. And I have to say the food was not good either they had literally just opened so again it wasn't busy. I don't know what was going on in the kitchen. I get the fish tacos which typically I love them, but believe it or not there's fish tacos were cold. The boneless wings that the other two of my party got were so hard and they were stuck together more like chicken fingers instead of boneless wings. This time it absolutely sucked. Food sucked. Service sucked! I don't know what's happening with this place but they gotta get it together. Not to mention you're supposed to have some program where you get points when you give them your phone number. I have still yet to get any kind of rewards when my bills are over 120 bucks every time we go. It'll be a very long time before we return!!! I really wanted to love this place. They DO have a lot of positives. It is extremely clean and well maintained. We were seated outside with a great river view and it was fantastic!! The biggest downfall for me was the service and speed. However, I think that has a lot to do with just how big this restaurant is. I can't imagine it's easy for the cooks to keep up, or the servers. I was disappointed in my child's kids meal. She got the chicken tenders and fries, and received 2 chicken fingers and a TON of fries (too many). The fries were dry and overcooked. I ordered a crab pretzel and I loved it! The wings (sweet chili) were good as well. Next time I will try boneless. When our food came out we didn't have silverware so we asked our server for some. She said she would get some and be right back. We waited for a while and she never returned so we took silverware from a nearby empty table. We wanted to eat our food before it got cold. The server for the other area came over and yelled at us for taking silverware from a "closed section" and told us we needed to ask our server for silverware. I said we did a while ago and hadn't gotten it yet. A few minutes later our server comes with silverware , so I told her that she should probably put it in the closed section since we got yelled at for taking it. Then the rest of the time the other server as dragging chairs (very loudly) while we were eating. Won't ever go back because of the other servers attitude and treatment. read more

I've been to chill island hang outs... the outside seating section of Willie's is an odd, but great, combination of two contrasting dualities... from bikers to soccer moms this place hits... We usually stop here as a midpoint rendezvous between DC and Central PA. It excels at being a worthwhile stop. The coconut shrimp entree and the Pina colada are my go to. While basic, the service is always quick and friendly. They don't make you feel like family, but they treat your family like they are welcome...it's probably because the place is huge! Next time you stop, tell them Carson sent you. Be forewarned, it won't get you anything other than an awkward look. Ha read more

We went here on 10/24/2025 for a nice dinner. To start off our night, we had some UNEXPECTED visitors under our table!! We sat in the enclosed dining area beside the river (they have it closed in now for colder season with heaters). As we sat there waiting for our food to arrive we watched multiple MICE run around from table to table, 1 of which climbed up the table legs behind ours and 1 ran across my fiancés shoe! At one point our waitress came over (after seeing me take pictures) and she knew exactly what I was taking pictures of! It all made sense now as to why she walked around stomping her feet from time to time around the tables!!! She said they have a pest company and are working on dealing with the mice issue. She reassured me that the mice were not in the kitchen area, after I stated my concerns with the mice and our food that hadn't come out yet. Instead of sending a manager over to speak with us, another waitress arrived and stated the same thing about the mice infestation. HOWEVER... We ordered Wings for our dinner and River rocks as our appetizer . The wings we ordered had okay flavor, but came out dry...thankfully we had ranch to dip them in. The river rocks we were happy with. After our dinner we received our bill and still had yet to be seen by a manager or had anything taken off our bill as a courtesy for trying to be understanding of the situation. Recently visited for the first time, welcoming causal atmosphere, friendly & prompt service and the food was great!! Ordered the Baja Fish Tacos, was pleasantly surprised to receive two large tacos, overflowing with fish and filling, see pic. DELICIOUS!! Pizza was also very tasty! Great price! Good place for families, friends, couples or solo to watch a game on their multiple screens. They have outside, riverside seating, I'll have to check out river view next time. First restaurant in Harrisburg that we tried. This place is huge and has a lot of waterfront seating so I'm sure it's great for hosting large parties. We sat by the front door/bar and had a terrible flu problem. Fighting the flies from lighting on our food killed half of the experience. We got the crab pretzel for an appetizer and it was ok. There wasn't too much crab meat on it at all. Definitely not lump , and it wasn't seasoned very well in my opinion. The pretzel was soft though. I ordered the clam chowder to come before my tacos but my server forgot. The tacos were slimy and the cabbage was hard to eat. The mango salsa was ok but didn't pull the dish together. These tacos may have been better if the fish was fried. Idk but they were just nasty to me. My server sent the tacos back for me and brought the soup out that I asked for at first. Soup was fine. Plenty of clam and good potato chunks. Service was slow as hell and it was a Tuesday lunch so it wasn't busy. Great service--Courtney was very attentive and friendly and we liked her a lot. Food was so tasty! My husband had chicken Parmesan, I had the prime rib sandwich and a Caesar salad to start. This is our second time visiting this restaurant. The first time was fantastic. Today not so good. We ended up sitting at the table for 15 minutes before anybody came over and then my wife asked if we could please have a server. The server came over and said she would pick up the table since the other lady was too busy. We ordered an appetizer Parmesan french fries. When they came out, they were soggy as can be and I asked the server why there were so much grease just sitting on the skillet. She said most people don't eat that so she does not know. We had a burger and fried chicken sandwich both were outstanding. Not one time during the appetizer or meal did the server or anybody else stop by to check and see if we needed anything or ask if everything was OK. That was very disappointing because we then had to wait for plates, napkins, and silverware. We witnessed similar service at multiple tables around us out on the patio.
