The pharmacy manager is a condescending prick who will YELL at you when you question their authority. Even though you are a pharmacy manager, you still have NO DAMN right to YELL at a customer over the phone. Regardless of the situation, you don't yell at the customer over the phone. Wow! Bad!! I ordered a couple of small items via the website. They then contacted me the items were read for pick up via an email. I replied that I would arrive "in 10 minutes" and arrived on time. Once you arrive you send an "I'm here" and theoretically they bring you your pre-paid order, hence Curb-Side. I waited the required 5 minutes then called the phone number to theoretically tell someone I am here. No Answer. I walked into the store and straight up to the counter for the Curb-Side person. She even had the shirt on identifying her as the person who did not bring out my order...maybe she didn't notice the "I'm here" because she was on her personal cell phone. Matter of fact, she did not notice I was standing there until her coworker said her name to get her attention. Apparently at Walgreens "working" at work is optional. She not only didn't bring out my order, but she had to go to the back of the store to get it. So much for Curb-Side being a functional option. read more

I scheduled an apt for me and my husband (both in our late 70's) at Walgreens location on 1 E Ogden in Westmont for an RSV vaccine. My husband is a stroke survivor, has mobility issues and is on a walker. The pharmacy had no one there waiting for a vaccine. The person checking us in advised that the vaccine was not covered by Medicare and that our insurance did not include Walgreens as an authorized facility to receive the shot under Part D. When I got home, I verified online that the RSV vaccine is covered under Medicare for people over 60 yrs of age. I also verified through my insurance that Walgreens was an authorized location for the RSV vaccine. I called Walgreens and spoke to a pharmacist who took our information and confirmed Medicare did in fact cover the vaccine. At this point, I was very angry and told her the person checking us in was incompetent. Rather than validate my feelings as a stressed out caregiver unnecessarily turned away from a shot that should have been given, the pharmacist took umbrage that I called her technician incompetent. Rather than trying to deescalate my anger, she hung up on me. I was disappointed that she didn't even attempt to explain why her technician was so off base with handling our case. We received a flu shot at this same location a week ago. The Walgreens website did not provide an option for making an apt for the RSV vaccine. After getting the flu shot, I asked if the RSV was available and asked if we could get it since we were already there for the flu shot . We were told that it was very busy and we would have to go to the bottom of the queue. This meant waiting another hour to get the shot. We opted to return for the RSV vaccine since we were not able to wait. I am relating both examples to illustrate the lack of competence and compassion on the part of the staff at this Walgreens location. We will never go back for any shots at this location. read more

Their "manager" is the problem! This Walgreens needs some serious management retraining or replacing. Their manager, Daniel (Danny) was so rude and condescending not only to his staff but to their Walgreens customers. He's just not right for management and he's most certainly in a wrong position here. Not saying he needs to loose his job but restocking shelving or cleaning would be better suited for him since managers suppose to be leading by example and be the support to customers and the staff. Had an appointment for a COVID test. Labeled with the location, time and place. Since they couldn't find me in their system in the drive thru, they sent me inside to Advocate even though I had confirmation with Walgreens at the top. Go inside and Advocate says it's Walgreens appointment, not theirs. Back to Walgreens pharmacy and I'm told how email works. To say the least, it is a confusing system with two different COVID testing sites at the same location and they point fingers at the other one when they can't find your appointment. Since no one was there- I asked if we could just do it now. Was told, no. You have to make the appointment online even though you are standing right on front of us with no other patients. This is the worst Walgreens you could ever go to in your life. I now make sure to drive the extra miles to the one on 63rd, or the one on main st in downers grove. The amount of attitude from the people who work here is crazy. I know someone who had a horrible experience here with cashier Francesco; then I went and got major attitude from the Hispanic man with the ugly Mohawk. Don't go here. The pharmacist I had to deal with was rude and lied to me about needing to contact my doctor in order to fill a medication I've been on for almost half a year. I use Walgreens all the time and have never had to deal with this. Some meds you can't just stop taking and she's telling me it's going to take days to call and verify something. I go to the Walgreens down the street and they will have it ready in an hour. Save your time and go to one of the many others in this area. This is my primary walgreens mainly because I live a few blocks away. I really like their selection of items but lately every time I go get something they never have it. I have had 2 problems with them lately as well. 1 I went in for item they didn't have it I asked employee if they had any in the back he goes to the back I waited and waited and nothing so I start roaming the store and there he was back at work and I asked him did you find any he just looked at me and says no we have none. I was so mad because I waited 20 minutes for an answer and he didn't even tell me I had to hunt him down and 2 this one girl at the register she is always fifty fifty she is either very nice or very rude. I always tell her I don't need a receipt or I don't need a back and she always looks at me with attitude and says you sure?? uhh yes I just told u I didn't need it. Extremely disappointed in my Walgreens experience at this location in Westmont. If I could give zero stars I would. Based upon the reviews I just read this appears to be a common theme. I can honestly say I have never had a bad experience at any Walgreens in this country until today. This location lacked adequate management and ability to to help a customer who was both sick and needed assistance with a purchase. My recent experience at Walgreens pharmacy on 1 E Ogden Ave was amazing. The so called drive in seems more like wait in. I seriously doubt if the mounted cameria is working because when you reach there you are neglected for a long time. When I came to pick up my prescription, the pharmacy technician asked for my information and then there was a silence for some time. Then I heard the voice of the pharmacist telling me that there were a lot of cars behind me and I should drive on. Where should I go? She said go back in the line because there are people behind you. What kind of stupid logic is that. This kind of behavior makes you question if anyone should go to Walgreens. This pharmacist should have some training regarding how to behave with patients. Last night, my fiancé and i pulled up to this Walgreens at 9:55. I had cut my finger super bad at work and needed a couple things to wrap it up with. We were skeptical to walk up to the front because it was a ghost town and we hadn't googled the hours for this location. Most are open til midnight or 24 hrs so we just assumed they were. We looked at the door and the hours said 7pm?? We were confused and walked in anyways. 3 of your employees were standing up front staring at us, one African American male, an old lady and some brunette. Not once did they welcome us instead they glared at us like we were assholes for walking in 5 minutes before they closed. My fiancé nicely asked if they were closing and one nodded their head. Didn't even open their mouth. He then nicely said "She cut her finger really bad at work and we just needed to grab some stuff we'll be super quick is that okay??" Not ONE of them even looked at us or answered back. He proceeded to say, "is that OKAY?" but STILL not one of your employees responded. We were so mad we left and went to jewel instead. As I walked out behind him i told them they could've been a lot more welcoming. This is bad hospitality. I work in the restaurant industry and i understand first hand how shitty it is to have someone come in right before you close but we knew what we needed and weren't there to just shop around. This isn't the first time the employees at this location have been disrespectful. CVS is a block down I'll happily go there instead. read more

For the pharmacy, I give it 1 star. The rest of the store, 3 stars, so this is a compromise. Regarding the pharmacy...completely understaffed. If you go through the drive-through, you can only see cabinets through the window. Since it generally takes several minutes for someone to come around the cabinets to tell you that they'll "be with you in a moment", you're left wondering if anyone even knows you're there. Then they disappear back behind the cabinets. And that "moment"? Try several moments. And gosh forbid if there is a car in front of you. Finally, more than once they claimed they never received my Rx from the doctor, though the doctor's office insists they sent it. I now drive 3 miles out of my way to a different pharmacy because I got so fed up. And the new pharmacy never seems to have an issue with receiving the Rx from the doctor. Regarding the store...I've always felt like the staff is polite and don't recall ever having to wait too long at the check out. read more

Not a bad store, always thought the staff was great! Unfortunately, when I was there last night, someone was cleaning, buffing or doing something to the cement floor. They were using a gasoline powered machine which was extremely noisy & extremely deadly with all the carbon monoxide fumes. Is Walgreens trying to kill its employees & customers? I was in a rush traveling out of the country and needed a quick refill. I ordered through the app with the intentions of picking up in just an hour. When I arrived at the store, the pharmacist informed me that the prescription was set to be picked up for the next day. I told the lady my situation and without any hesitation, she graciously told me they could get it taken care of right away. I was out of the store in less than 15 minutes and the entire staff was nice as can be! They made traveling out of state in a stressful situation much more easy, manageable, and smooth. My mother had quite the issue this last week. First & foremost the answering service is absolutely horrible. Waiting anywhere from 15-30 minutes is ridiculous. My mother not only called the pharmacy but also her doctor's office prior to picking up her script. The doctor's office confirmed they received a call from the pharmacy and approved the script. When she called to assure all was taken care of it was not the case. This whole ordeal started on a Wednesday and wasn't able to pick up her full order of scripts until Saturday. And then to state that one of her scripts was a lot of money? Is she going to pick it up? WTF? My mother stated she was completely dissatisfied with the service while at the pharmacy & offered them one more chance as this type of incident has occurred in the past, however I think she's being too nice. With Jewel located directly across the street & a CVS just down the street...I will convince her to move her business. read more

Don't bother with the Health Clinic. Despite what their website claims, walk-ins are not welcome and scheduling is very difficult. They will leave you waiting for hours and then turn you away with no service. Very frustrating. If there was better communication, time would not be wasted. I have been a Walgreens customer almost exclusively since 1958. And after what happened today at this location, I have walked out of Walgreens forever. In the 6 years I have lived two doors down from this pharmacy I have struggled with lost prescriptions; erroneous information from their alleged diabetes counselor; incorrectly filled prescriptions; partially filled prescriptions that were never completely filled; failures to automatically refill prescriptions; failures to call physicians for refill authorization; complete incompetence; and today, out and out lies by pharmacy staff. In addition, it has never taken me less than 20 minutes to simply pick up my prescriptions. And the drive through? It's a joke. You'll run out of gas--or die from exhaust fumes before getting your prescription. Osco is a block away, Westmont Pharmacy is less than a mile away, and there's always Costco. I will spend my time and money at the pharmacies that are competent, helpful, properly staffed, and truthful. read more

I went to pick up my prescriptions and there was an issue with the prescribing doctors license. The registered pharmacist Carolyn never once looked at me or included me in the conversation. She acted as if I wasn't even there and as if I was a bother. I would think someone in her field would have learned better people skills and how to communicate and being at a Walgreens... customer service. The pharmacy staff needs a complete over-haul. Someone is not doing their job & the staff lies. I had dropped off a prescription a week ahead of schedule b/c I knew they may need to order it. My daughter had a week supply left so I wasn't too worried b/c the med comes within 2 days. I ask the pharmacy technician if they will call me when it comes in & was told yes. I call 5 days later to f/u on the status since no one called me. I was told that they do not know when it is coming in & to pick up my prescription & go to the Downers Grove pharmacy since they have it in stock. I pick up my prescription & go to the DG pharmacy. The pharmacist told me that he does not have it in stock but will order it now so it comes in on Monday. He gave me his manager's card so I can confirm delivery on Monday. This is the 2nd time that this has occurred at the Cass/Ogden Walgreens. They do not care about their customers time & welfare. When you complain to them in person, the pharmacist hides in the back. read more
