My wife found Lloyd's Diner on the internet. What a pleasant surprise, a real old school railroad car diner with abundant portions and excellent food. We had so much left over a made a breakfast hash the next day. The service was above and beyond, and all staff members could have been nicer. Went for breakfast on a Sunday morning after a walk at Farm Pond. Note that it closes at 11:30AM & it's CASH only. There were a couple of specials so I saved on the Big Breakfast, which is part of the regular menu. They have big, fat breakfast sausages that have great flavor. Server was friendly and attentive. Stopped by today (Saturday) for breakfast after driving by for years. We sat on the vintage diner side. It's tight quarters from the doors to the seats. The atmosphere was friendly, Inviting, and very busy. As soon as a seat opened it was filled by another group. The food was excellent. I got the #1 breakfast and my wife got the eggs Benedict. Decided to go here after taking a walk in a nearby park. Like the other reviews mention, it's not the place to go if you're looking for romance or an upscale atmosphere. It's a tiny space in an old rail car with the feel of an old diner. If you want to get food from Lloyd's, you'll have to come early! They closed at 12 noon on the day we went (Sunday). Most diners in the area don't close until 2 so it kind of threw us off. The options on the menu were great - very reasonable prices and a good breakfast selection. We took the food to go and we're surprised at how heavy the to-go boxes were. My fiancé looked at me as we were leaving and said, "I can tell they give good portions here because I have to hold these with two hands!" After finally getting home and opening the boxes, we saw that the boxes were FILLED up with deliciousness lol. Their pancakes are $3 each as a side order but it's the size of like 6 pancakes. I couldnt even finish it and I'm 7 months pregnant! The only critique I have is that the potatoes were flavorless and very oily at the bottom. I wish they would have put some type of spices (or at least salt and pepper) on them. It tasted maybe like a plain baked potato. Other than that, I really enjoyed my meal and the service. Wow, stopped here after reading other reviews on our way between Boston and NY. Didn't look like much from the parking lot, but don't let that fool you. Quaint and cozy inside with super friendly staff. And the food....! I ordered a mini breakfast and it could have fed three of me. Even my husband who can usually eat a hearty breakfast wasn't able to finish everything on his plate. Will definitely be stopping here again. read more

This hidden gem is an amazing breakfast stop. The portions are huge and the food is delicious. My son had an early hockey at the rink down the street so we stopped here after the game. This place is old school diner. My son ordered a pancake, just one, and he didn't finish it. He said it was awesome and asked to take the leftovers home. I ordered corned beef hash and eggs which comes with toast and home fries and I ordered a side of bacon. The side of bacon was enough for two people, I took the leftovers home. The eggs were eggs but cooked just as I requested them. The corned beef hash was good but I was a little disappointed. From previous reviews I thought it was home made. I think it was canned but doctored up enough so that it almost seemed like homemade. There were chunks of homemade corned beef and it was still really good. It kinda brought me back to my dad making it when I was a kid. I was so stuffed I barely touched the potatoes but what I ate was really good. I was finally in today.I was the first one in the door at 6:00 when he opened.After a little small talk about the history of the place,I ordered my breakfast.OMG.. what a meal it was!! Marinated steak tips and a couple of eggs over easy ,with a huge pile of home fries too.There was enough food for 2 on my plate.Sadly,I couldn't finish it all.These were by far the best tips I ever had,tender,juicy and a lot of them-delicious.I really should give it 4 1/2 stars 'cause they don't have my favorite dish....home made hash on the menu. Amazing hole in the wall diner near Boston. The place is located inside of what looks like an old train car and they are only open for breakfast on weekends; and there's a reason for that the food and portions are awesome! Seriously the amount of food you get here is huge, and it's cheap. I had their corned beef hash which was delicious and ordered a side of sausage which was soooo worth it. The sausage links taste exactly how you would expect them to taste, delicious, and that's because they are a perfect mix of pork and fat. The hash was also delicious especially with over easy eggs on top. The food also came out in like 10 minutes; and the service was great and with a smile. Definitely happy I came here. read more

Everything you expect from a Diner! Simple menu, huge portions, friendly staff. I love the bar seating where you can watch the cook prepare the food, but if that's not your style there are plenty of booths in the dining car and in the addition. My guilty pleasure is a grilled bagel with cream cheese. It came out perfectly crispy on the grilled side and soft and warm throughout. Yes! Just what I wanted! Also got 2 scrambled eggs - pretty sure that it was 4 eggs that got scrambled. And - they crack and cook the eggs fresh, there's no big pot of mystery eggs getting cooked up. Husband got hash with eggs over easy, home fries, and pumpernickel bread. It was a huge portion! Even though we shared, ended up taking some home. The table across from us had sunny side up eggs, which looked perfect - I've seen people screw this up too many times. We came here for brunch at 10:30, and I stayed full all day (I'm finally cooking dinner at 5:30 pm). Coffee was good as well. Everyone seems to know everyone, so it's a very friendly atmosphere. Came in on a Sunday morning and the place was packed so we waited by the bar. No one was paying any attention. A family came in after us and the waitress seated them immediately at a table that just freed up as they came in. When I said we were there first, she proceeded to very rudely tell me that she didn't know we were waiting and we should have told her. I thought it was obvious from the fact that we were standing in the hallway. After words were exchanged, she slammed the door on us and said "Don't let the door hit you on the way out!" I don't want to dump on this place too much, because lloyd's has a rough history, and a somewhat bad location (you really won't know it's there unless you look it up, or go to the tech HS). However, there's been some conflicting information here, so I wanted to take a second to post up a couple facts. 1) as someone else pointed out, the whole diner/Brazilian hybrid thing is over. I never visited lloyd's during this period, but as of December 2012, this place is just a standard diner. 2) The eggs exist in a plainly displayed plastic egg beater (or some other premixed egg substitute. didn't see the brand) carton on the kitchen counter. Some people seem to really like faux eggs, though I do not (especially since my omelet could only be described as soupy). So make your own judgement. I've talked with some locals, and some people think that you couldn't find a better breakfast, where others would rather eat rusted nails arranged in the shape of a pine cone. Regardless, I hope these two bits of info help you make up your mind. read more

I'm originally from Framingham so I had been showing my husband the town I grew up in before we embarked on our journey back to DC. We had left our hotel w/out eating breakfast, so my husband suggested we stop somewhere in my town. I immediately searched Yelp for Lloyds. It still exists! Success! The 1st time I came here was 1991. If I'm correct, that was the year Lloyds opened. I'm an original customer, and ya know what? Even though this place apparently became something else and went under new management, it still looks exactly the same. We parked and my husband voiced his doubt, who wouldn't when you pull up to an old, divey looking, red rail car? I assured him this place was great and we went inside. We were welcomed immediately by the guy at the stove, and then by our waitress, and immediately seated. Their menu is basic, kids. No eggs benedict. No crème brulee French toast, just simple, honest working man's breakfasts. We both ordered the eggs, sausage/bacon, and potatoes and settled in to wait. My husband was enthralled by the conversation the 2 obviously older blue collar men, were having at the table next to us. It wasn't so much the exact conversation, but the way they were having it. His 1st taste of the kind of characters I grew up around. And they were hysterical. Our food was in front of us about 10 minutes later, and it hit all the right spots. The potatoes were hot and homey, the eggs cooked just right, and the sausage had just the right amount of snap. Our waitress was the sweetest, and was extremely attentive. I would come back here every time we visit MA, if the trip affords it. The only disclaimer Ill give is if you decide to go here on a cold day, sit at the countertop. This is the dirtiest, rudest, unwelcoming place that I have ERVER, I repeat EVER ate. The tables where dirty and when we asked to clean them the waitress, with a Huge attitude washed them with a dirty cloth so it was worth then before. When they brought silverware it had leftover meal on them from WWII... it was disgusting. I have never seen dirtier waitresses in my life, and have been to Cambodia, and seen Russian Market. Those places looked sterilized comparing to the diner... Do not go there until they disinfect the place and change the staff. read more

Go around 10 for crunchy awesome home fries. Coffee will likely not impress, but delicious home fries and sausage make up. Just grab a coke too. Dont go expecting fancy or something its not.
