Westside Cafe and Market is an interesting place for lunch, or dinner. They are well known for their bloody mary's that come with a side car of beer. They also have a small salad in in the drink! I got the bar-b-que sliders and they were great. Everyone in our party of four was very happy with their order. I will definitely eat here again when I'm in the area. I thought this place was very friendly, down to earth, and most importantly, tasty! They had a lot of bison options on the menu which I always like to see. I ordered the bison meatloaf and it was delicious. Came with mashed potatoes and broccoli and it was a perfectly sized entree. The chicken pot pie my co-worker ordered was huge and also looked delicious. They brought our table a basket of mixed popcorn, which is unique and kind of cool. Our server was very friendly. Vail, Colorado- Decorated as an old mining shaft and cluttered with old school memorabilia, this spot is a laid back good ol' boy joint. Beware vegans as there is not a single meal option for you (however you can get a side of fruit lol). Thankfully the kind staff didn't mind me chopping up, okay slaughtering their menu, to create something vegan as I was in vegan mode this particular morning. If you take the southwestern skillet and subtract the eggs, sour cream, and cheese and you add a side of hashbrowns and avocado you have a Californian blissful breakfast that's way healthier. Even though they disappointingly don't offer any menu items for the vegan (sorry hard core began friends!), at least they're willing to mix up menu items. Loved it! The food was good, kind of creative, and reasonably priced. The place was bustling and happening. The waitress was nice (even though she touched my boyfriend a little too much). The only negative was the slow bartender. At first I thought he was just busy, but then I realized he couldn't talk and make drinks at the same time. Humorous, but then I really just wanted my drink. I had a much better experience here my second time than my first. The first time we came was for lunch. Service was pretty nonexistent. I had the French onion soup which was pretty good, and the ahi tuna taco app which was decent also. The second time we came here was for breakfast. This experience was night and day difference.. Service was phenomenal-very fast and friendly! Coffee was great, my husband said the bison meatloaf and eggs were delicious. My lox bagel was great, and had red onion and capers on the side and they had an everything bagel for me! We also ordered the angel food french toast and the captain crunch french toast to try. While I thought the angel food ones may have been slightly better, both were amazing! I would gladly return for breakfast-best breakfast we have had in a long time!! read more

Hands down my favorite breakfast place in the valley. They have an awesome drink menu with really creative and loaded Bloody Mary's amongst other things. Anything on their food menu is amazing but you have to try the captain crunch French toast. It's just about the most wonderful thing on the planet. Exceeding slow service despite not being busy and food was about as good as that on an airplane. Had the pork green chile and a side salad. Salad was a handful of lettuce leaves, a few cherry tomatoes, and some cucumbers that were dry, like they had been cut days prior. Chile was only average. Westside Cafe was incredible! We stopped by after finding it on yelp and were very satisfied. Right off the bat we were greeted and seated by Abigail. She was the nicest and most helpful waitress ever. We asked for recommendations and she said the Kobe Sliders, Salmon Salad, and Fish Tacos. We ended up ordering the sliders (medium rare) and fish tacos. They of course were excellent. My boyfriend wanted a little something more with the sliders so we ordered the Truffle Fries. These were amazing, I can't tell you how good they were. You have to try them! They are served with fettuccine sauce, seriously you need to try them. One of the better cheap eats in Vail. We love stopping there for breakfast before skiing in the winter. The benedicts are a great choice, as is the captain crunch french toast. Our party of four all enjoyed our breakfast. I had their world famous bloody Mary with a skewered caramelized/candied bacon, onion, peppers, and other interesting items. The Bloody Mary was average, but the bacon and other contents on the skewer kept the wow factor going. My daughter had the Captain Crunch French Toast which everyone thought was very good. My wife had the Angel Food French Toast which was unique in a delicious kind of way. Our guest had the Breakfast Chimi which she shared and it pleased everyone.
