There is a magnificent view of the Manhattan Bridge on the street outside the restaurant. I arrived first, and the staff very cordially invited me to sit down at our table to wait for my friend to arrive. Staff was accessible while at the same time unintrusive during our meal. Large selection of fresh vegetarian foods. We both started with carrot soup (delicious). Then she had the quinoa veggie burger (a bit dry but good) and I had marinated tofu (yummy). In Westville Dumbo, spending my days, farm to table are the veggies I graze! I've constantly heard my friends talk about the market plate at Westville and I always thought, "how good can vegetables be?" And now I know the answer! As I was going through the menu with my friend and we both couldn't decide on just three vegetables! We ended up sharing between us, and I have to say that the brussel sprouts and pesto mash were beyond amazing!! Definitely recommend it if you ever want to have some good food, and feel good about it too. Plus the prices aren't outrageous considering you're in the area of scenic Brooklyn bridge! Aside from the food, the ambiance in this Westville chain was also warm and welcoming. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and if you can brave the weather you can sit outside and enjoy the view of Brooklyn bridge and it's many tourists. We opted to stay on the covered patio though, because I'm not about that life during New York fall weather. Overall, Westville is a great stop for good affordable food! read more

I was skeptical about this place cause the menu seemed super casual. I came on a Thursday evening and was pleasantly surprised by the legit restaurant atmosphere. They still have up barriers between tables to be covid friendly. We didn't have any drinks and stuck with food. I got the steak and frites. I requested the steak medium well and it came medium rare. I sent it back and just asked for no pink this for round and it was still very pink. They're clearly not great at cook to order in this regard but the flavor was good and the fries were crisp. My friend got the steak sandwich and enjoyed it as well. Wouldn't return but would tell others to give it a go. read more

To me, this was just a super average, okay brunch spot in Dumbo. I appreciated that their menu was pretty vegetarian/vegan forward, so our table had a ton of options. The Chilaquiles and the French toast counterbalanced; it may have been one of the least-flavored chilaquiles with soggy chips but one of the better crispy French toasts with delicious maple syrups. Was in Dumbo for an event at Duggal Greenhouse which offered free food. Having not eaten all day, my buddy and I decided to eat a quick bite before going to the event. We ended up ordering the House Vegetable Special with yucca fries on the side and a steak sandwich. We were both really pleased with the meal, service, and the ambiance of the restaurant. My steak sandwich was cooked wonderfully and all the ingredients were farm/garden fresh. We both questioned getting a meal before an event with free food. The event did have some great food. However, after the event ended that evening and we set off on the long drive back to Maryland. We were both happy that we decided to try Westville out. Terrible experience tonight- we sat inside when most people were sitting outside, and it was clear no server was assigned to our table. We received almost no service, and people only tended to us when we flagged them down to take our order and then get the check. The drinks we ordered weren't even served until way after our food arrived- we were ready to tell anyone we could flag down to just cancel them. To top that off, the crispy fish sandwich I ordered was served soggy, not crispy at all, and they must have run out of the club roll it was supposed to come in because it was served on a Portuguese muffin (not fitting at all for the sandwich). Westville Dumbo is a neighborhood brunch spot welcoming all kinds of people. There are two inside dining rooms perfect for groups or for couples on a brunch date. If you have a young family or enjoy being outside, there's a large outdoor patio in the back. The service is great and the food even better. All the ingredients are fresh and change weekly. When we went, we ordered the poached eggs on a kale salad and the roasted brussel sprouts with cucumber lemonade to wash it down. All was really good. The only thing to note is that the brussel sprouts come with a more intense sauce than you'd think. It is layered on there thick and a tad too sweet. For families, it's the perfect spot. The servers are friendly to kids and they even have a large changing area in one of the unisex bathrooms so Mom or Dad can change the diaper. read more

Came here on a Saturday with 6 of us and it was busy. However they were able to accommodate us. The food itself was average. I had the lemon shrimp on mashed potatoes and there wasn't really any lemon flavor to it. The shrimp were grilled dry. My husband didn't think h of his food either. I was on my way to Dumbo Kitchen and saw Westville, and I quickly decided to try Westville since I've been to DK so many times. I am glad I did! I sat at the bar with my brother and we enjoyed very good service, drinks and food. The bartender was kind to suggest the kids portion of the French toast which was a perfect for me. I also ordered a side of smoked salmon, I was shocked at the portion (huge); it was like 3 servings, more than I get in a Trader Joe's pack. I tried the yucca fries and they were good, but they hold more grease than regular fries do, so I wasn't able to enjoy too much of them. My brother opted for the burger w/ sweet potato fries. Of course I reached over for some sweet potato fries, they were delicious. He enjoyed his meal along with his drink. I love the outdoor space that Westville has, it's very chill...great vibe! It's a very small and intimate place with a limited menu. Tables are a bit too close together but once you settle in you don't seem to mind at all. It's a very romantic atmosphere and perfect just for couples not large groups as it's a tiny place. I ordered the cuban sliders and my boyfriend ordered the battered fish and chips. I loved my sliders they were perfection! I tasted my bf's meal and the fish was so fresh and clean in taste! We also ordered two glasses of Chardonnay which was fantastic! The location is super cute and nice and tucked near where the tourist take their pictures of the Manhattan bridge overlooking Dumbo. Host, and first server were attentive and offered a great choice of the Broccoli Market greens side to go along with my Mac & Cheese with bacon. The service went well until my drink runner/new server had to close her bar without any explanation. So I had to hurry and finish my lunch. Beautiful location (really close to the manhattan bridge with a great view of the Brooklyn bridge) but the food was quite underwhelming. I ordered the Westville burrito and it says it comes with chorizo but it was just regular ham. I tried some of my friends' fries and they were very good but the rest of the food was pretty underwhelming. The food was not delicious, although it seemed healthy from the look of it. Salads: I ordered a kale salad for our table and we were told that "it was a special salad, and not available." It magically reappeared for another person from our table, which was fine. I wanted to try it and I did. I wondered why a kale salad should have so much of dried cranberries, too much, unnecessary and unhealthy. Leave cranberries out. Then it had walnuts covered in sugar... Why?! Why would anyone put sugar on walnuts in a salad? Yak. Unhealthy and unnecessary. The kale salad was cut into very small pieces. Cheap kale, not dark green organic one that can be cut into larger pieces so your fork does not slip. And the whole salad has tons on cheese. Arugula salad was better - no sugar, no dry fruits which are bad for you. Rice: Flavorless and overcooked white mushy goop. Guys you should cook rice al dente! Ice tea: It was pretty dark and bitter, not fresh. It had no flavor. Brussels: Greasy, overcooked mush. Overall, the food is unhealthy because too much dressing, too overcooked, and no flavor. I jazz it up and get the plantains with cotija for the table to share. Bagel is amazing. Chewy dense and carblicious. Lox is salty sweet and melts in my mouth. I black out during eating it, so good. The pesto mashed potatoes were definitely my favorite, although I would have liked the pesto flavor to be stronger. I added generous amounts of Tapatío hot sauce to give it a nice kick. The atmosphere was relaxed (a little loud inside because it's a small place) and the service was efficient and welcoming. The food was very good -- our only complaints were that the main course options where overshadowed by the excellent selection of side veg options. My chicken cutlet was well-cooked but need a dousing of some kind of sauce (maybe a sauce selection?) to bring it together with the delicious sides.
