This place has a large menu similar to a diner but with some mexican specialties which is cool. I got the grand canyon sandwich and my husband got the huevos mexicana. Also got lattes. Everything was delicious and service relaxed and friendly. I would highly recommend trying this place as the varied menu can appeal to most.

Unsure why it took so long for me to review this place as I've been here a bunch. This is a long-running old school diner with a large menu. They particularly focus on their burgers here with the old menu having a a lot of Mexican options along with the standard diner fare with a recent addition being a separate extra Mexican food list. The waitstaff is nice and they do separate checks even for large parties as long as you call which is very nice which is one of the reasons why I've been here a bunch as one of the groups I go to likes to get individual checks when they can. I've been here before for breakfast a few times. The breakfast special is good here with your choice of eggs in whatever style which comes with your choice of toast which is buttered unless you tell them otherwise and a choice of a bunch of things such as their pretty tasty home fries. They have solid omelettes and they're open at 7:00 which is definitely a plus in this area. The price is a bit high but hey it's Brooklyn Heights and it's not that much more expensive than the local corner stores in the area if you want a good sized breakfast. As noted, they're mostly well known for their burgers and they advertise them outside and such. The burgers are half a pound and are quite juicy. The fries are pretty standard and I wish they gave more coleslaw but it's a diner so some of this is to be expected and the burgers are a whole lot better than the vast majority of other diners. I've also tried a bit of one of their grilled chicken sandwiches from someone else which was excellent and I think I might have tried one other thing here from the Mexican menu which was fine but I don't remember what it was. This isn't a place that you'd travel to but it's one of those type of spots that's just needed and excellent to have around. They're not trying to be the best but the food is still tasty and the portions are reasonable. It's probably closer to a 4 but I've been here way too many times and my little review does nothing to help or hurt this spot.

It's been some time since I visited Grand Canyon restaurant. I decided to take my two favorite little girls for breakfast, but the 17 wanted a burger, which made me remember what I always liked about Grand Canyon, restaurant... Burgers! The six month old had guacamole... Ha ha ha! The baby loves her fruit and vegetables and has a great appetite and will possibly be a future Yelper, because she has a great appetite and really appreciated the guacamole... she was humming and eating LOL. My bleu burger was on point. It was Big, juicy flavorful and filling. I cut it in half because I could only eat half. The 17-year-old girl was not pleased that her burger was medium well. She likes a well done burger, but her fries disappeared almost immediately, and like most weird teenagers she ate all around the sides of her burger and left the middle. Other than that, the restaurant is clean, the booths are spacious, and the service is excellent.

    Gyro platter. Delicious.

Ate brunch there on Sunday, May 25, 2025. Had the delicious Gyro platter. Huge portion. Delicious hot fries that I consumed at the restaurant. I couldn't finish my Gyro because I was full.

Are you ready for the 411? Here we go...met my friend for an after-work Happy Hour hang! This is a local spot in Brooklyn Heights that I have frequented before and always enjoyed this spot. It was not crowded when we arrived but began to get busy as families arrived with their children for dinner. As it picked up, the noise level increased in sequence. The margaritas were so tasty and hit the spot. We had a combo plate which was basic with mozzarella, chicken fingers, etc. I wish there was a combination platter for the Mexican food. For Happy Hour, this would have been a good option. Overall, good experience and a good spot for a quick Friday hangout with friends and coworkers.

Great place to have breakfast. Outdoor and indoor seating available, seating is available for something small or huge parties. The menu has varieties of Mexican and American dishes. The bar is also available...yasssss Mimosas with breakfast, because it is in fact (drum roll pleeeeaaassseeeee) 5 o'clock somewhere. Get the Mexican Breakfast with avocado! They take Amex (I'm building points) and Apple Pay. Everyone is friendly. I felt welcomed. The staff knew our manager by name. Great customer service! Take me BACK!

Beautiful spot in Downtown Brooklyn for the good old diner experience! Warm Welcome and very accommodating! They catered our work pre Mother's Day brunch and it was delicious and everyone loved it! Check them out! They have an extensive menu!

Nothing like a solid, no-frills southwestern diner to get me excited for brunch. The food is great, and portions will not leave you hungry. Is it Michelin-star dining? No, but what Grand Canyon does, it does really well. Plus, excellent service in a nice, local setting. Great choice for casual group meets and hangover meals.

This is definitely a much loved diner in the neighborhood, and I've been looking forward to trying this divey diner for brunch. There's outdoor dining along with limited / spaced indoor dining. We were seated immediately inside and were tucked in the back in our own corner. The menu at Grand Canyon is like a big book. I was in the mood for a classic blt and went straight to the sandwich section. My friends got a variety of other things - silver dollar pancakes, croissant breakfast sandwich, potato skins. I got my blt with chipotle Mayo, and it came with a massive amount of fries and a couple onion rings. Next time I need to give their breakfast menu a try - their omelettes and scrambles look amazing. Will definitely be back!

We were running a little late getting there because of traffic, but they were really nice about it which I appreciated. We ordered a bunch of things for the table so we could try a little bit of everything. The monkey bread was probably my favorite and definitely worth ordering. We also got the steak which was cooked perfectly, along with pasta and a burger. There was a small mix-up with our order and they accidentally brought out an extra pasta, but our server fixed it right away and took care of it without us even having to ask. Service throughout dinner was honestly great. We also tried a couple drinks and ended up staying for a while because we liked the atmosphere so much. It's definitely more of a special dinner spot than somewhere I'd casually stop into, but between the food, service and overall vibe I'd happily come back. Such a good dinner in NYC!

Next, our waiter accidentally put in 2 pastas instead of a burger we ordered but had that fixed immediately and took it off our tab which was a super nice surprise. We got a couple things to share and everything was delicious! The monkey bread was totally worth the hype! Steak was cooked perfectly and the pasta was delicious. Also got a couple drinks! Would totally come back here again.

Ambiance: This place has a nice ambiance, definitely very "New York" -- dark (you can't see how dirty the floor is) and loud music (maybe too loud). We sat upstairs (we had a reservation) and of all the people on the top there was a party of 4 (us), a party of 8 (all dudes celebrating something) and the rest of the tables were on a DATE - which I thought was funny. Service: We were served by Ann-Marie who was so delightful. She was kind, super nice, and took the time to speak to us (which is basically how we figured out she wasn't a native New York City person). She gave us good food suggestions and we were very happy with our selection. Food: Here is what we ordered * Steak Frites: My two boys got the steak frites and I have to say the steak was awesome! I had a bite of each of theirs and they each ordered it differently (one Medium Rare/Medium and one Medium) and they both were prepared PERFECTLY. The fries were overflowing. * Caeser Salad with Salmon: My wife got the salad with Salmon (they only have a few salad options) and she enjoyed it. * Prawn and Crab Risotto: I got this and I have to say it was VERY bland. I wouldn't get this if you are looking for taste. I had to put salt and pepper on it to make it have any semblance of taste. Value/Price: I would say this is not over priced but it is not cheap either...bill is attached. I would recommend it to folks who are looking for a good place to either go out on a date or a family type meal.

Service was good. We had the fried chicken Benedict and the crab cake Benedict. I was a bit confused when I saw that each Benedict dish only had one poached egg - shouldn't it always be two? I guess that's shrinkflation (plus inflation) for you. That bent said, the crab cake was actually really big and filling. The side of potatoes were really delicious. Would I come back for brunch again? Very unlikely. But, it does seem like a pretty "safe choice" if you need a last minute reservation for a group.

Did an earlier dinner on a Saturday with a friend at the bar. We got some similar items, some different. The thing I kept the same was my martinis and all three (sour cream and onion, tomato, and espresso) were just as amazing as ever. Food-wise, I stuck mainly to the classics with one new dish: - Pizza rolls: Very good but 3 pizza rolls for $20 felt small to me. I feel like I remember seeing others served more when I've gone in the past, but not completely sure. They're nostalgic and fun, nothing to die for. - Fries: Great as ever, we opted for just one of the sauces (avocado dill). - French Dip: This used to be cut in 3 pieces and now it's 2. Works well with a duo but I do think it's actually a little smaller now than before when I compare photos. - Samoa sundae: Still amazing, still so so worth. It was fun going with a friend who hadn't been before and seeing the joy upon trying the dish! Wagyu French Dip served with au jous - outstanding Lobster & Caviar Roll Sour cream & onion martini Ok: French fries are fine. A little salty. Saoma sundae - lots of coconut Skip: Spinach & Artichoke Dip - meh. Had better at Applebees. The sauce trio for the fries - all were too salty. The service is outstanding. Everything was on point even though we sat at the bar. The attention to detail is great. Our course were staggered and we never felt rushed. Now is it worth showing up 2+ hour in advance hoping to get in. I don't think so. Once they hype dies down and you can book a reservation check it out.
