I live in Florida now and am a senior. I grew up going to this theatre and just took my grandchild today. The theatre is run down and dirty and the seats are broken. It was disappointing. I will not go back. The owner should raise his prices and fix it up and it could be a nice night out because the concept of an old town theatre is lovely. read more

I still love that every seat in every theatre has a great view. That's the benefit of small rooms. But recently the rooms have not always been clean. Dirty rooms certainly take away from the movie experience. The concessions are still limited to the usual suspects, and that's OK! Prices are definitely theatre prices but they could be much worse. This theater opened up in August 1928 as a single screen theater 1275 seats. It now has six screens Two downstairs in the original orchestra section comfortable seats Screens are a nice size Theaters upstairs are where the original balcony was. 155 seats. Still decent size screens The other theaters are down a long hallway used used to be part of the original stage. The theatres are pretty small. So stick to the other four screens Management is friendly and helpful. The popcorn is good along with choices for candy and and drinks There are even video games to play before or after the movie near the concession stand It's always spotless inside the theater anywhere you go. You definitely feel like you're inside a old time theater especially upstairs . There's an old fashion water fountain and nice artwork up on the walls Price is right $12 per ticket. Great local movie theater in the heart of Westwood. Hard to find these days. Seen many films here over the years.

I've been coming here for the last couple years. People are always nice they're always respectful and kind. My son's autistic and a couple of the staff members usually know this. I'd rather go to a local theater than any chain theater The chain theaters cost so much more money and cost so much more extra fees. People may say this is rundown but honestly it's not that bad at all. The seats are broken. Definitely take your kids here take your parents here take your whole family here. I mean you're not spending 35 to $40 on two tickets. Two tickets is like affordable 25. And the candy and the drinks they also make it affordable. Not like $8 for candy at the AMC or the landmark theater who wants $13 for a small popcorn and a small drink. What a rip off. So definitely take your family here. Big deal the seats don't recline but at least they're pretty clean and comfortable to me. read more

Westwood Cinemas is a small, local theatre. It's missing a few luxuries that a larger, more well-known theatre brand may have. For instance, the lobby is very small and there's only one ticket counter. The concessions offer minimal items; there's just popcorn, soda, and candy. The red cloth seats are pretty comfortable but do not lean back or have foot rests. The cloth was a little dusty and the seats were a bit small. The actual theatre itself is also small with limited seating and the movie screen is rather tiny as well. The sound quality wasn't anything great either. Parking is free but the lot was a bit overfilled - we ended up having to park at the CVS next door because the municipal lot was full. The pros about this place is that it's decently cheap. Student tickets are about $6. We went on a Tuesday which was two for one tickets so we paid $12 for two people. We ordered a medium drink and a medium popcorn for $9. While it is one of the cheapest theaters I've been to, there are definitely theaters out there at the same price point but with higher quality amenities. This old school theatre is just your classic venue and is good for a quick movie. It reflects the sleepy nature of this small town. We were surprised that most of the shops in the area were closed by the time our movie finished (around 10PM) so don't expect to be able to browse the stores after a late movie. Overall, my experience here was just "meh" which earns this place a 2.5 Star. However, I do like supporting local businesses anytime I can do I will encourage movie-goers to come here when convenient. read more

Went to see a movie tonight and it was 90 degrees in the theatre. I tried to email and text the contact on the website and noticed they put the fans on. If the AC is broken, they should not use that theatre. If they are trying to save money but not putting the air on, that's unacceptable. We would have left in the middle of the movie but there were two senior women on the aisle, and their mobility was limited, so we dealt with the heat and sweat. Something not right...it's summer, the movies are usually freezing. read more

I spent $13.50 to sit in a 3 1/2 hour movie tonight in a metal folding chair. That's right. A truly uncomfortable experience. Secondly, the theater is staffed by teens whose training process is truly watered down- and it shows. If they deem there aren't enough customers for a single showing, they will cancel the showing and refund customers. Never mind that are customers there who have paid! Theaters are FILTHY and packed with rude theater goers who do nothing but talk and flash their cell phones all night long. Go ahead, try and contact a manager- they say they're aware and there's not much they can do. Someone needs to take over this business who can put a little more pride and lot more professionalism into it. I understand this is a legacy establishment- but step it up already!...this is Westwood! read more

Came to see the new Fantastical Beasts movie. Got into my seat while the credits from the prior movie were running. The room was filthy but I figured they'd come into clean when the credits stopped. Nope. So we sat in other people's filth. The movie started late. There were only two previews, the bathroom stunk. The place is old and run down. Yuck. read more

This is a nice old movie theater it's a real throwback to me it looks the same way it did back in the 80s maybe newer seats that's all I like the fact it's smaller crowds as well as a little cheaper. It's right in the heart of Westwood so you could always walk around and check out the local stores. read more

I wasn't crazy about the lack of parking nearby, especially since I had to leave the theatre to go put money in the meter since it's two hour parking. This is a small location, giving a cozy feel. My biggest issue is that I went to see a rated R movie and there were handfuls of unaccompanied kids present. They were loud, obnoxious and annoying as most teens are. It used to be that you weren't allowed in the theatre if you were under 17 for R films and apparently that doesn't apply to this location. read more

Came to Westwood Cinemas last night with a friend and had a great experience. This small theater is great for a local night out. While it is a little outdated when compared to the big box theaters nearby, this hometown location is very welcoming. Surrounded by small shops and restaurants, this theater is just another business in a town dedicated to small businesses. The ticket prices are comparable to what you will pay at other theaters, however the concessions seemed to be a little bit cheaper. The employees were all young kids, likely from town, and were friendly and helpful. I thought the theater would be quiet since it was a holiday but I was surprised to see a ton of kids in the lobby when I was leaving my movie. This appears to be a local hang out for kids around town. Overall I was very pleased with my trip to Westwood Cinemas. This is a great place for a date night, plenty of restaurants in walking distance, and parking is very accessible- street parking or a parking lot right next door. read more

I went to see a film this weekend at Pascack Theatre in Westwood and was pleasantly surprised at the quick and efficient service, great popcorn and more importantly the comfy seats! Nice a cushy and they go back so you can really relax. The theatre is not a huge multi-plex which I liked. Smaller is definitely better in this case. read more

I've gone to this theater for about 20 years and never really had a problem with it until tonight. I purchased a voucher for two discounted movie tickets from a film production company. The company's website listed theaters that accepted the voucher. Pascack was on the list. However, when I arrived at the box office, the girl refused to take them and got rude with me right off the bat. I told her the website said they accepted them and even showed her on my phone. She rudely said she didn't care, and she would not take them. I asked to speak with a manager, but there was not one on duty (on a weekend night, the busiest time for a movie theater? doubtful.). She then told me I had to pay her in cash if I wanted to see the movie...despite the fact that the theater would get the money from the voucher. Honestly, if she were not totally rude, I wouldn't be as angry as I am. She then proceeded to do the same thing to two other people standing in line. With that attitude, she can keep the tickets. I will not set foot in this theater again, and, while I usually support independent establishments like this one, I hope they go out of business. I work in customer service, and I know that there's absolutely no reason to treat a customer with that type of attitude. read more

Theatre plays some movies that have already left the bigger theaters which is awesome. However there is really no where to go if you're a little early for a movie. The staff is ALL teens who are all on their cell phones and consistently (and quite loudly) chat with each other the entire time (we have heard about birth control and first kisses so far). One of them has already dropped an f-bomb. Finally, a bottle of poland spring water is $3.00. A little off-putting. read more

I grew up going to this theater all time, especially as a teenager. I came back as a chaperone on a field trip this summer, and I was incredibly surprised at this forgotten gem. Prices are LOW compared to Lowe's & AMC, and it is not overly crowded. After getting everyone settled into their seats, I realized I did not have much cash on me, $3!!, but I was thirsty so I thought "maybe I can at least get a bottle of water for this price". I was pleasantly surprised that $3 could buy quite a bit at the snack bar, and I got a soda instead. Staff was friendly and helpful (much moreso then when I was a bratty kid!) It might not be as high tech as the other mega theaters, but definately worth a quaint trip to see the same movie. read more

I love the charm of a movie theater that is actually in the middle of town and not in a strip mall, and especially one that has real character like Pascack Theatre. Unfortunately, an older theatre like this is on the small side, so each theater fills up wayy ahead of time. My boyfriend and I arrived 15 minutes before showtime and still had little to no choice in where to sit, so let that be a barometer of how early you should get there. My other (minor) complaint is that the line forms in a way that makes it impossible to use the other doors, so there should be some reconfiguring or at least redirecting of the masses so we can exit even with other people waiting to buy tickets. read more

PRO TIP: Go early, buy your ticket for a show 2 hours ahead, then go have dinner and a couple drinks at Finnegan's before heading back. We came to see black panther here tonight on a two for one Tuesday deal ($6 per ticket). Overall, theatre is small, way smaller than anything I have seen. Lobby with low ceiling makes it cozy. The staff is polite. Movie was started on time. We were in a pretty small theatre and it was auditorium seating (but on the lower end, surprisingly almost flat..). Picture was good, screen size was small and the seats were ok and not uncomfortable. We were happy with our deal and the fact that the movie was not full. We enjoyed ourselves. Not too much has changed since then, but the seats are upgraded to a more plush variety, and that's always a great thing. The ticket prices are cheaper than bigger places like AMC theaters; a matinee ticket costs only $8! The employees are all generally young but very sweet and knowledgable. Went to see Joker last night. R-Rated but filled with a huge crowd of unruly kids, most of whom were obviously under 17. They talked loudly through the whole film, flashed phones and shouted obscenities. I asked them politely to be quiet as they were disturbing everyone. I was ignored. I reported it to the "manager", who claimed that he knew it was happening but could do nothing about it. He made no attempt to make restitution for the film we paid for and were unable to enjoy. I am a Westwood resident, but I will no longer patronize that theater. read more

I'm a longtime movie aficionado, and for countless reasons I've come to love smaller, intimate movie theaters, such as (what I imagine) Westwood Cinemas might have been. I'm new to the neighborhood, and have experienced most of the smaller movie theaters Bergen County has to offer, but had never been to Westwood. Today, I rushed to this local theater house to see a 1:35 showing of "Child's Play," and got there exactly at start time. I was met with the following at the box office: "Sir, nobody came for that movie, so we're not playing it." No offense folks, but I am a "somebody"--so I promptly left and found a showing at an AMC, starting 30 minutes later. (I totally get that showing a film for one patron may be cost-prohibitive; that being said, I've been the sole viewer a myriad of times in my life--even in small theaters like in Tenafly and Closter.) So, it's doubtful I will return to this place because this policy is too risky for me, and given there are so many other smaller venues fairly nearby, I've got choices that will suit me better. read more

Westwood Cinemas is full of small town, local charm. Great for a night out if you live in Westwood with friends or family. The problem with the movie theater is that it's really small, so when I went to see Manchester By The Sea on a Saturday night (even though the movie had been out for awhile) the theater was packed and I had to sit in the front row. Other than that, it's a cute theater, it has all old movie posters up from the 80's and 90's and has a refreshments station. Other issue, the ladies room. There are only 2 stalls and there are at least 4 screening rooms, so the line can become ridiculous if more than 1 movie lets out at the same time. Best bet with this theater is to go to a matinee. read more

I've been to Pasack Theatre a bunch of times and each time I return it gets harder and harder to find a seat. Make sure you are there on time or you will be standing the entire movie!!!. Service is wonderful, staff are friendly. However if you get a seat there not really that comfortable. in conclusion I would still recommend this place out of desperation. read more

I was recently here to see Julie & Julia in this local movie theater and overall, the experience was pleasant. However, because movie times were close between the end and start of the next showing, my friend and I were forced to wait in the lobby before we could "check-in" to go to our respective theaters. Which means we were waiting around with people for other movies as well...with no announcements. However, the theater is cute, local flavor present, clean, and it wasn't an AMC (which is a good thing sometimes). Prices were low compared to the chain theaters and watching the movie was comfortable. I think I would prefer coming here for a movie rather than the AMC at GSP (where parking is a hassle as well!) read more

The seats were jammed together and it was so hot that many people ran out to get water- for $3 a pop. Will never ever ever go to this theater again. I've been going to this theater for 25 years. But lately it has been going down hill. The staff is lax, the cleanliness is sub par, but the patrons are awful. One time I went there and people were having a full volume conversation throughout the movie, and thought I was an a$$ for asking them to stop; but most recently a man actually threatened to "take it outside" when I asked him to put his phone away, dropping "f" bombs in a pg-13 movie with his daughter next to him, and a party of young boys in the front of the theater. I know this seems like what does this have to do with the theater.. in my opinion, if the place were cleaner, in better repair, and had actual adults working there, maybe people would be more respectful. read more

Absolutely my favorite theater in the area. Prices are great, especially for the early shows. I've spent $12 for a movie, popcorn, soda and candy here; where most other theaters you spend $12 just for the movie. The theaters are small but definitely still quality seats, picture and sound. I have been coming to this theatre for a very long time and have never seen anyone on a cell phone! They keep costs down, popcorn too!
