This is the big restaurant inside the Renaissance hotel & convention center. I ate there because my hotel's (Wyndham) restaurant was under construction. I had the American breakfast with eggs, sausage and extra bacon with hashbrown potatoes. It was fine.

Been coming here for breakfast in most of my stays here at the hotel over the years. Also tried their evening menu. Consistent quality and decent service. Never had any problems. Prices are not too crazy for a hotel restaurant and bar in my mind.

Corned beef Reuben and homemade chips

First time trying this spot. Staff was extremely friendly and attentive. I got the Reuben which was very good. My friends both got the fig burger which they also enjoyed. Recommendation: get the homemade chips vs the fries. Fries were dry while the chips were well seasoned. Tip: they close from 11-11:30 between breakfast and lunch service. Did not see this anywhere on their website or yelp page.

My flight to Chicago arrived in the late afternoon and so I found myself quite hungry upon checking into my hotel; the Renaissance Schaumburg. Schaumburg Public House is the main restaurant on site and was the only spot open at 3:30pm when I arrived. Their lunch menu mostly consisted of sandwiches, flatbreads and some appetizers. I chose to get a soup with sourdough bread ($8) as well as their chips and dip ($3). The chips and dip for $3 was quite the deal. It came with kettle style chips along with horseradish sauce. The salty chips were offset well with the tasty horseradish sauce. The soup of the day was a Chicken Noodle. This felt more like a tomato soup to me. It was ok but not necessarily something I would get again. This soup did come with two pieces of sourdough bread. I would have probably enjoyed some of their other dishes as thought the soup wasn't anything special. The chips and dip was my favorite for this meal. This doesn't quite say much but as mentioned one can't beat $3!

Update: my friend and I wanted to split the bill between two cards, simple enough. The waitress charged the entire bill on one card, then proceeded to do a credit and then bill both cards the correct amount. It has been 5 days (three business days) and still no credit. We have called the restaurant number and it is disconnected. We had to call the hotel and ask for a manager. The manager said they would send us an email and we have been waiting since Saturday for that email. Promote that chef and get new staff!

Decent option if you are either there for an event or staying at the hotel. I stopped with a small group on a Sunday night, and unfortunately for the staff, they only had 2 people working, from what I could tell. Still, the bartender was good at making sure we were set on drinks. I had a burger to eat, and even though you could tell that it had been sitting a few minutes (due to staffing), it was still good. Meanwhile, I highly recommend the cocktail I had - bourbon toscano. The drink and food prices were about what you'd expect from a hotel, so keep that in mind if you're trying to stay on a budget

Probably the best grits I've had in my life. Top notch restaurant with great service.

Underwhelmed for sure. It seemed like a really cute restaurant and I knew after checking in I would made it my business to check them out. The service is... MEH! I waited to be seated for at least 8 minutes, mind you there was literally 6 other patrons already at the establishment. Like no one was there yet I had to wait to be seated. And the person that actually seated me wasn't even the host. Then once seated the waitress took a while to come take my order, I was too tired to even complain I just really wanted to eat and lie down. The food was well... similar to the service just okay. I wouldn't double back. I ordered the Crab cake sliders with fries and the Caesar salad. The crab cake itself was nasty. I did not like it at all. But the fries were delicious. I really could've just had that and been fine. The Caesar salad was good. I didn't love the dressing it was a little sweet. Not my favorite place but hopefully your experience could be different.

Very well kept. Ambient, modern couches, bar seats, and light fixtures. But very vintage looking tables and decor! Definitely ask for ASHLEY! Tall girl with a half sleeve tattoo on her arm. She is literally the BEST waitress & bar tender I've ever had! Very respectful, kindhearted, and helpful. Totally customer service oriented. Really, she will make your dinner & drinking experience 10x better!

Pretzel and beer cheese was delicious, soft and warm and a little buttery! Very good! Nice atmosphere. Not too noisy and the staff is very pleasant. I also had the chicken noodle soup which was great, and had a little peppery kick.

This is absolutely a five-star experience, no two-ways about it. We live near here so it's a hang-out that we frequent quite often and we've loved it every single time. To put it another way, we've never had less than a 5-star gastronomic encounter serviced by a 5-star wait staff. The food is outstanding hands-down. We are vegans who cheat with fish every once in a great while, but we cheat when we eat here because the salmon is some of the best in the entire Schaumburg area. I would put this salmon up against any of the best restaurants west of the city and we've tried them all. Because this is the restaurant of the convention center which, I'm sure, gets slammed a lot of the time with impatient customers who want to get in and out, it's probably challenging to find help who will put up with that, but in my opinion, and that of my wife's, they do a great job. We especially love the corn fritters which come with a sauce that is maple syrup with chipotle in it so it's got a tiny bite to it. Lovely! We go for the fried cauliflower as well, which is a specialty that they offer several different ways. The chef loves cauliflower and it shows! We'll continue to frequent this stellar five-star and highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a half-empty restaurant that has tremendous food and service but with half the bustle and crowdedness of many other restaurants in the area. This is a hidden gemstone! I'm

    Chicken and Waffles
    Tristan S.

I must say this was a decent way to start off my stay in the CHI. The Waffles themselves were sweet and had great flavor. The chicken was cooked a bit too long, but it had great flavor. My server Malik went to bat for me to get the dish before lunchtime, so bonus points for amazing customer service. If you're visiting Combo Breaker or happen to stay here, give this place a go at least once.

It's a lovely spacious restaurant in the Renaissance hotel. We enjoyed this restaurant. It has an excellent menu. You don't have to go far to get the meals you want if you stay at the hotel. I had the crab sliders, a veggie burger, avocado toast, and smoked fish with poached eggs, cauliflower, meatballs, and chicken wings, all on different days. Two best dishes from here: Avocado toast and crabmeat sliders! Great poached eggs alongside avocado! What could go wrong? Poached eggs came out perfect too. The crabmeat was lump crabmeat, so I got the best meat! I wasn't crazy about smoked trout. That's too dry. We had Ashanti and Christina waiting at our tables. Both waitresses are so lovely! After my meal, when I asked for a business center, Ashanti accommodated that she escorted me to show me the area where the business center is.

Service was great but I was puzzled that they changed utensils after each course but failed to scrape away the breadcrumbs on the tablecloth. Standouts were the main dishes: the halibut worked super well with the grapes in the sauce (what an unexpected surprise!) and trout amandine was very good as well (wished the skin was crispier though). For two girls, we ordered 2 apps, 1 salad, 2 entrees and shared a dessert and it was just right. We didn't feel like the meal was overly heavy or over salted, which is such a nice departure from our experiences of late. One piece of feedback is to perhaps warm the seasonal apple tart. It was very good but also very cold! We will be back!

As expected, the restaurant was packed, both inside and in the beautiful courtyard. Families filled the dining room, with children of all ages at about 90% of the tables. The team at Pomeroy has been so consistent and professional, that all of our dishes were delivered at a perfect and steady pace, and qualities remained high. Although we got a different server each time we went, they were all very welcoming, friendly, and attentive.  This time, Carlisle did such a wonderful job even though she was super busy, and she wished me a happy Mother's Day several times to make sure that my day was special.  I must mention that the friendly hostess greeted me with well wishes too, and said happy Mother's day again when we left. We had noticed that they had replaced the couch in front of the courtyard fireplace with more tables.  Who could blame them when they had so many patrons to seat.  However, the courtyard still looked gorgeous. Now on to the food and drinks.  I had a mocktail Bleu 75 ($13) that's my favorite, my husband had a glass of chardonnay ($17), our daughter had a Le Spritz Strawberry ($16).  We shared an order of Sea Scallops ($23) and a Warm Tomato Tarte ($19).  I had my go-to dish which was the Mediterranean Sea Bass ($38), I loved the seared skin that was crispy on the edges. Husband and Daughter each ordered a Spring Halibut ($92 for 2) from the Mother's Day menu.  We ordered 2 Strawberry Crème Brulee ($28 for 2), and I shared 1 with my husband.  I also had a cappuccino ($6). The check came up to $283.05 before tips (they add a 3% surcharge to each guest check, which may be removed upon request, we didn't).  As always, our dinner was very enjoyable and it's worth the money.  I had a very happy Mother's Day dinner, and it ended a wonderful weekend with high notes!  We will keep returning!

When we got to Pomeroy for dinner, we were seated in the farthest back room, one that was open-air ... the staff never asked us, they just put us there. The room was nice as was the weather, but the open-air room had gnats all over the place. Now we realize that gnats or fruit flies oftentimes come with wine servings ... and the Pomeroy has a bunch of nice wines, but the gnats flying around your face all through dinner was not pleasant. We ordered drinks to start, and found it hit-or-miss. The Watermelon Margarita seemed tempting, so we tried one. It came with a big smear of Tajin powder on the rim, and was not appealing. Once again, we thought they should mention this kind of thing before it appears. They replaced the drink, but it kept us off on the wrong foot. All in all, they still put our good food. Our complaint was the seating, the gnats, and the Tajin powder ... all they had to do was ask for our preferences and these could have been avoided. But alas, they drop to four stars.

It was ultra-soft, with a minuscule dab of chocolate. The poached eggs were completely flavorless. They might have been old eggs six weeks away from the farm, I don't know, but all I could taste was the chalky whites. And by the way, poached eggs should always be served with a spoon without the customer having to ask. How do you eat poached eggs with a fork? I asked for my English muffin to be "burnt" (crispy.) They were soft and gummy, just like the croissant. And no jam or jelly was offered. The waiter was polite but inattentive. It's annoying to say, specifically, "I'll have two poached eggs with crispy bacon" and then have the waiter come back and say, "do you want sausage or bacon with that?" And like most restaurants these days, they've switched to that thick-cut bacon that can't be cooked crispy. The breakfast came with a very small side of potatoes, which tasted fine. And I had some green tea that was...okay, but not even remotely like the delicious green tea that most Japanese restaurants offer. I asked my waiter to clear away my plate when I was done, but he either didn't hear me or misunderstood, because he left the plate sitting there. Lastly, when people are eating breakfast, especially on a weekday, they usually have some place they need to get to, and don't want to linger. It took too long after I put my card down for the waiter to pick it up. Every one of these things is a minor complaint (except for the tasteless eggs.) I was a little surprised that the aioli sauce wasn't for dipping the fries; it was spread on the sandwich instead. Nevertheless, I thought my steak sandwich was well done and I had no regrets of getting it. Service was adequate and we were given a large table toward the end of restaurant for some privacy. I don't think I would come here myself since price for each entree was considered high in my opinion. With that said, I will strive to perform well at my job so that I get another opportunity to visit here again!
