Great beer selection, the two times I've been in here I've had the pleasure of speaking with the owner. He is very knowledgeable about beer, which is a change of pace from alot of these places. Wet city is a great place for drinks. They are a go to spot for me because they serve half pints and have a great beer selection. I love the half pints because they're roughly half the price and they also give you the option of drinking less if you feel so inclined. It's a great way to try out new beers. The location is great and the decor is quite nice and unique. The place is spacious and put to good use with interesting lighting and artwork on the walls. The food is fine (not the best not the worst) but it's quite expensive. Frankly, I would say it's overpriced. It's a little nicer than basic bar food but it's hard to find much on the menu for less than $15. My wife and I always go here trying to eat a light dinner on the cheap and it never works out. Also, be aware they don't provide table service during the week so you order both drinks and food at the bar. Overall, I'm happy to have them in the neighborhood but I just wish their food options were a better value. read more

This was a great place for an early family dinner. The co-owner PJ (I really hope I remembered that correctly!!) was an incredible server with his enthusiasm and interest in our every need. Before he ever waited on us I let him know there were no paper towels in the bathroom as I came out. He smiled broadly and thanked me and then rushed off to fill it up. I was so impressed with the little gesture and the care he showed in wanting things to be just right. We had our 3 kids ages 6/4/2 with us at 6pm on a Thursday. The staff was very accepting of our 3 kids and their "dance party," behind our table. They gave lots of high fives and encouragement. The fries were exceptional! There is an interesting drink menu and even the complicated cocktails were fast to arrive. I saw a post for the Nashville hot chicken sandwich on Instagram. Needless to say this meal was very delicious my only recommendation is that if you're going to get it to go, is to get the sandwich deconstructed and put it together when you get home so the bread doesn't get soggy. So me and my and our couple best friends went out here for a dope date night! I had found this place via for us to try so it was our first time there. This place is really cool!!! We arrived and sat ourselves, then viewed the menu. We sat in the area where you have to order from the bar. The vibe is really cool and the staff was wonderful!! Adam the Bar tender was so cool and allowed us to taste some of their original beers! The food came out sooo quick and was so delicious!!! We had the Gumbo, Mexican pizza, hot Cheeto deviled eggs and fried pickles which all were AMAZING!!! This place is definitely do for a fun cool night with friends or significant other! All of our friends enjoyed themselves! It doesn't look like much from the outside but it's definitely a dope spot to try!! I would recommend that you at least try it! I love craft beer and beer bars, so I was really looking forward to this place. Unfortunately, we had such a horrible experience, that I'll never return. First, the place is loud and overpriced. Neither would bother me too much were they offset by compensating factors. They're not. Also, they falsely advertise low prices they won't honor. Wet City posted on Facebook $5 burgers until 2am, and when we ordered, they refused to honor the price. I showed the waiter the FB post where it clearly states "$5 cheeseburgers," but he still wanted us to pay full price. He didn't acknowledge their mistake; he didn't try to make it right. Dick move. So, I told him we would just pay for the beer we ordered and leave, but dick waiter that he was, he took my water. I asked for it back, but he brought it back with less water in it. Another dick move. Again, I want to like this place, but this is not the craft beer culture I love. This is pretentious, hipster, amateur hour. Spend your money elsewhere, where they want to earn your money instead of feeling entitled to it. Take it to a place that admits their mistakes and strives to treat customers well. UPDATE: Someone (an owner?) direct messaged me with the following message: "We definitely would have discounted your check $2. I don't expect you'll come back but if you do and have a complaint please find Josh or I (or a manager) because we are the ones that can make that accommodation. Sorry for the inconvenience. Keep drinking good beer!" This is exactly the problem! Their burger is $14! They advertised $5 burgers, refused to honor it, and then offered to discount my entire check by $2? Like I said above: amateur hour. I'd invite these guys to read some other businesses' reviews to see how to properly respond when a customer has a legitimate complaint. read more

AH-MAY-ZING! The food! Is it bad form to lick the plate? We shared the duck hash and the pastrami sliders - both excellent, delicious bites of yum. The sliders even had rye bread toasted with butter - 80 extra points! Too bad I had to share... The drinks! We came here for the beer selection and were not disappointed. The list had a huge array of hard to come by goodies (Stone Pale Ale anyone?). We brought a hard to please crowd with us and they giggled like school girls when they read the beer list! Cocktails! I'm not ashamed to say I had no idea what a lot of the ingredients were. The very helpful server explained the flavors and how they blended. He then gave a fabulous recommendation of some cherry like old fashioned thing? Doubts washed away when I nearly drowned myself when I drank it so fast!! So, yeah..it's the exact opposite of Dougherty's with their Bright and clean interior :) Would suggest some more things on the walls? Maybe continue the wet city pattern? The beer list is killer I love the Wet City black saison, but the tap list really excels in its assortment of hard-to-find sours and crisp IPAs. This is a true beer lovers bar. The shrimp and grits are awesome, but for cheaper fare try the happy hour $5 burger and $5 shandy. read more

We stumbled upon this place randomly one night, and what a beginning it turned out to be. The bar/restaurant has alot of open side and notable beer selection, although I'm not a beer person at all. I recently had surgery. I had crutches. I entered and was shown to a seat. I have difficulty walking so I asked if I could get help with service at my seat. I was ignored and told that I had to walk to the bar. I sat for 15 minutes assuming that maybe I heard wrong. I asked one of the bar tenders if it would be cool for her to take my order from my seat because I couldn't stand ,she pointed at the wall and said. The sign says Walk to the bar. Then said she would see about taking my order. She walked away and called me an asshole to her co worker so that I could hear. I don't know if it was because I was the only Black person or a person with a disability but I will not return. It felt racist and discriminatory. read more

Great short food list and plenty of beer and wine to try. I like their concept of what is popular and selling fast stays on tap. Plus, there is always a back up on stand by when one popular beer goes out, they replace it with another fine choice. My wife and I came here a few times when it first opened and I liked their beer menu much better then. Reason being, I feel like last night they have kind of swayed into an IPA and Sour beer bar. Not saying that all beers on the menu were like this, but as a lager, porter and stout kind of guy, my pickings were slim. They had all types of beer last year around this time. It could also be a seasonal thing too. Who knows?? But, I won't let their beer variety at this time hinder me from coming back. This place has potential but it isn't there yet. You cannot use old grease because it really effects the quality of the food. The chicken was fried in old grease and neither my daughter nor I could eat it. It really was terrible. The lamb chops were fatty and I think there was a raw beet on the plate but the sweet potato purée was okay. The salad was light dressed and they used quality greens. Now the taco wasn't prepared well. The meat was dry and they threw a hunk of fat in it which was just wrong. I tried to eat the fries from the poutine but the grease again killed it. The fries were limp and soggy, which just sucks. I really think this could be a really good restaurants they would work on the little things. The ideas are good but there isn't quality yet. When scanning other people's yelps I can across this place. After looking at the pics of the menu I see they have the one and only RUBEUS NITRO!!!! So. I have been waiting and waiting to finally come to this place and hope they had it still! Well they did ! That was the only positive about this place. The bar was full so we sat at a table where there weren't many other customers. The guy greeted us instantly but then we waited and waited and waited . I put in my nitro order and my wife wanted to try this "cream slushy" they advertise for. After waiting and waiting some more he comes back with only her little sample of gross orange cream stuff. I figured I would have got my beer by then... So she went with the nitro as well . Well after waiting some more. ( it's been a good 20 mins ) for a beer we finally get it . I should have asked for the check at that point. My mistake. We finished our delicious beer quickly so we could move on to another place and our waiter guy was no where to be found. Went up to the bartender telling him we would like our tab so we can go. He says I'll go find the waiter . NO I don't want to wait for him any longer lol. Wandered in here looking for some late-ish (9:30pm) snacks and a place to hang out for a bit. There was a sign by the door that said "grab a menu and a seat!" so we did. A few minutes later, a server came out with waters and told us we had to order at the bar. No big deal, but kind of a dumb idea to have that sign at the front. We would have assumed we had to order at the bar if the sign hadn't been there. The music was very loud which didn't quite seem to fit with the vibe. Maybe later in the night it should be that loud? But before 10, it's just friends hanging out at the bar. The beer menu is really excellent, and the prices are OK. The food menu was a little uninspiring, but I decided to order the beer cheese dip. We (4 of us) went to the bar to order and even though there were maybe 20 people in the bar in total and no one else actively trying to order at the bar, it took several minutes for one of the bar tenders to acknowledge us. We were clearly together as a group, but he couldn't decide who to ask for the order first (pick someone on the end??) and so we eventually ordered. Ordering was impressively slow. We all wanted to close out immediately, but it still took a good 10 minutes for us all to order and get the beers. The beers were so good. The beer menu is definitely the reason they aren't getting fewer stars. My dip was pretty blah. The taste was OK, but it had the consistency of gravy, even a little grainy (didn't cook the roux long enough?). I was super hungry so I ate it all, but I wasn't really impressed. After a while, one of the bartenders came by to ask us if we'd all payed. (We had.) It just seemed weird. From other reviews, it looks like maybe we were there on an off night, service wise. This restaurant was recommended by a friend and he also recommended I try the Hot Chicken. It was to die for. The chicken was moist and the flavor was superb. To top it off it was served with crisp shoe string style fries. The atmosphere was very updated and bright. Will definitely be back. read more

So many good things to say about this place. Let's start with the basics. The decor of the place is really stylish but neat. A less is better, clean look, but with eye catching art and nice colors behind the bar. The seating throughout the place is appropriate, as it's not designed to throw a jam packed party, but a space large enough for groups of friends. The beer menu is exceptional, get the Aggressive Brunch if it's available or the Graft Cider. The food menu has quite an array of good eats including the Deviled Eggs, Deviled Oysters, Garlic Herb Wings, Buffalo Wings, Pretzel Sticks, and French Onion Soup. For cocktails, I suggest trying the Lil Snickers which yes actually has a piece of candy a the garnish. The owners and bartenders at this place are great people who you definitely feel like are friends and family by the time you leave. I suggest everyone give this place a try. I like it here. I don't love it here. The beer list is always great (and you can get two diff sizes of any) and the staff is quick, friendly and knowledgeable. The decor is too minimal, and it's usually too bright in there. Every time we go the beer list is switched and you can also see what's upcoming which is awesome. Try the spaghet! Also, each time I've been it's also not packed at all, which is nice for me, albeit weird. Only had food once. The menu is innovative, and I had a portabello lettuce fried-green-tomato sammy which was an mmmm combo. But the portabello was smoked. Which is weird. It just tasted a lot like a bonfire. It didn't make the sandwich inedible by any means but I was kinda just like... why is this smoked. Almost like no one in the kitchen tried it after the idea went onto the menu. Anyways - I want to try more of their menu options. And their fries are the bomb. I'll be back! read more

Except the 8oz seems more like 4oz...no real science or method behind the glasses. This is a cool space but the lighting is somehow laboratory-weird-too-bright for my taste. A fantastic craft beer bar with affordable tasting options for 8 oz. pours and up. I had both of the wet city brewed beers, a sour and a saison, and both were quite good. Their selection beyond their own brews was both interesting and impressive in its scope and quality. I didn't try the food but everything that came out looked delicious and I will definitely indulge on my return visit. We went to Wet City for the first time this week. It was delightful! Great relaxed atmosphere, informal and a big surprise experiencing the sophistication of the kitchen in a pub. We were lucky to get a tour by the brewmaster of the brewery and to experience a true beer-making operation, fascinating and creative. Both the brewmaster and the Chef, Brad Bonham, are talented and creative and the atmosphere is relaxing and welcoming. Definitely, a place to return to often. read more

This summer, the summer of 2017, is well known throughout the land as the #summerofsours. That's not true...the #condoboiz are making it well known. That said, the folks at Wet City didn't sleep on #sos for a SECOND. Their list of craft brews consist of a number of delicious, tart, tangy, drag you through the mud, take you out back and give you the belt, dentures by August, mouth puckering, thirst quenching, bend you over and kick you in the rumpus, better call the dentist now, salivating, incredible sours! These babies will leave that mouth feeling fresh, put your mind right with the Lord, get you feelin frisky, happy, and enjoying life. The service is just top notch. (They'll even get the nice girl trying to physically crawl to the door a bucket to throw up in, all while holding her hair back, because she had one too many burn through your stomach lining, stare at the sun, I love the ocean but got crushed by a salty wave, sours.). Well it started off well! Loved the ambiance and music when I got there. Ordered a draft beer that was tasty. But then things got weird...I saw a friend there and he offered to buy me a drink and I said sure. We ordered at the bar and he said he would be paying. When I went to get my tab...for my 1 beer...it ended up being $36. Odd so I asked the bartender Dan about it. He said that the other two drinks must have ended up on my tab and I said that's fine but I didn't authorize that so I wouldn't be paying for them. This was the first stop of the night it was before 11pm and I had just gotten into town so it was my 2nd drink of the evening. From then out the bar staff was cold and rude. After he regrettebly fixed the issue he came back and said, "Just so you know, the house will be paying for those two drinks" and walked away. Well...I don't really care who pays for them as long as it wasn't me, your customer who didn't authorize to be charged for those beers. I really enjoyed the sausage plate (especially the pork rinds) as well as the beer, but I probably wouldn't hang out here. It was dark, stark, and full of hipsters (say that in the Melisandre GoT voice...), like drinking in an art gallery, and I generally prefer a more well-lit, comfortable atmosphere. Wet City is hands down, the best new bar in Baltimore. It has to be one of the best bars in the world. This place is so beautiful inside and such an open and welcoming place. The service is always great. The staff is well versed on their beer list, which is always diverse and exciting. You can always find several beers on tap you've never had before. I love how they always have some sour beers on tap. I also love the option of ordering a half pour (usually 6-8 oz.). on most drafts. It gives you the opportunity to try more beers. They also charge around half price for a half pour, actually making it worth ordering a half pour instead of a full pour. The staff is always great to chat with and are happy to help you with recommendations or any questions you have. They always have a great cocktail menu as well. A friend of mine usually orders cocktails and raves about them. I ordered a cocktail equivalent to a shamrock shake around St. Patrick's day and it was perfect. If I lived close to Baltimore, I would stop by Wet City much more often. I first stopped here about a month after they opened and it has quickly gained a cult following. I recommend this place to anyone who loves craft beer and craft cocktails. read more
