I've only been to Wet City twice which is absurd considering how much I've seen their beers and burgers on IG when *exclusively when im hungry*. None the less both times the food was amazing, I think most people love the drinks here but the food is equally amazing. The servings are HUGE, I ordered the mozzarella sticks and they were similar to the ones at Food Market. I recently had the kimchi tots and they were PHENOMENAL, and a huge serving for a starter. I split it with my friend and we both agreed that it was the tastiest kimchi ever, I'm in the works of convincing them to jar it up and sell it. A cool neighborhood gem Wet City reminds me of a modern Cheers, where regulars and locals come and feel right at home. You get the feel that everybody knows your name. The place is quaint with very low lighting that creates an intimate and inviting atmosphere with a calm and relaxed vibe. The menu is limited in quantity but there is a variety in options. There is something for everyone from vegetarians, to chicken lovers, those that prefer duck and even short rib poutine for something new. I tried the poutine for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. The gravy dried the dish out a little but overall it was good. There is a nice variety of beer selections so the beer lover husband of mine was happy. I would go back to try the lemon pepper wings or the popular hot fried chicken dish. I can only speak for the takeout drink experience during the pandemic, and it was great! Wet City has a large selection of craft drinks that you can order ahead and pick up at the door. I had a "making out with boysenberry" beer, which is both tart and sweet at the same time. I also tried some of the mama shark mixed drink, and it was delicious!! Very, very sweet and fruity. Stopped by here for happy hour one time since we live extremely close by. You choose your own table and order everything at the bar. We got a few of their cocktails to start and had the hot cheeto fried deviled eggs, burger, and hot chicken sandwich. Cocktails were nice and strong. The deviled eggs were excellent and the hot cheetos were a fun little touch. The hot chicken sandwich was pretty big and demolished very quickly! For a place that claims to have Baltimore's best burger, it was okay at best. The beef was a little dry so it was crumbly (hence the one star deduction). The final bill was also one of the more expensive happy hours we've been to, so I doubt we'll be back. Glad we were able to try it out though! read more

This is a hidden gem with a chef curated menu and a rotating list of seasonal beer on tap. I almost don't want to write how Good it is because It already gets so crowded. ALL of the food is amazing. My only complaint is that it's sometimes over seasoned for me (too salty- specifically the chili). The steak is one of the best steaks I've had in my life as are the Brussels sprouts. They also offer happy hour specials during the week where you can get a great deal on the Nashville hot chicken (also amazing). I've never had anything here I didn't fully enjoy. I've been following Wet City on Instagram now for about 2 years and I'm so glad I finally got a chance to come here! You walk in and the atmosphere is great, you've got the purple and blue lights and good music. We started with an appetizer of their Confit Buffalo Chicken Wings which were, no exaggeration, the BEST WINGS I'VE HAD IN MY LIFE! They were so juicy and fell off the bone. They were absolutely incredible! Then for an entree we split their Thanksgiving sandwich called The Gobbler. That was also very good and I'm glad we got it when we did cause it sold out in about an hour and a half! It had everything that you want during thanksgiving including a cranberry chutney which was amazing! Their beer wasn't the best I've ever had but it was still good and the Pumpkin Coquito Slushie that I had was very good! Howdy yelp, this review will cover my third experience at wet city. I always come to order their hot chichekn during happy hour and it always hits my spot. Today I asked Amanda if they would like to go to wet city or go to a Megan's place to have spaghetti with chicken in vodka sauce. Personally I prefer chicken pasta in a white sauce so I wasn't 100% game (don't tell Megan) As you can see we opted for wet city. I ordered, you guessed it, hot chicken as well as fried deviled eggs and soft pretzel. I also got a drink, it was a blinky slushy and it was really tastee. It tasted like a pina colda. It came with pretty flower (see ketchup smiley face for reference) Afterwards I went to rite aid to buy heavy duty swifter mop replacements and then we went to the pet store to look at collars for my girlfriend. My husband surprised me at work for an impromptu birthday dinner here. It's about 3 blocks from my office. I drive past it every day and had no idea what it was. What is it? It was packed, live DJ, dancing and specialty event cocktails. So much fun! I've been for an late afternoon or early dinner recently. The clientele during the at time is definitely business. Lots of suits, lots or people fresh from work still talking shops and the occasional dates. This seems to be a really common date spot. Lots of tables for two. I have been enjoying the bar area. The food is delicious, though it's exactly as it's listed. I went with some friends that were surprised the poke plate was just fish, but to be fair, that's all that is listed! I was bummed not to see my favorites from Ekiben :( they just had one item from Ekiben's menu. So decided to order wings, some type of kimchi and my friends wanted to order shrimp noodles soup. Here is where everything starts to fall apart. We literally waited over 15 mins just to order drinks . We went there 10 mins before their happy hour ended but our server takes our order after happy hour ended. Some how we convinced the server that we were here during the happy hour. We get our drinks after 15 mins. So without spending any more time, we placed our food order. Appetizer, and entrees everything at once as we expected more delays. After another half an hours wait, we get our Ramen and fried chicken but not the Kimchi. We were so hungry that we did not bother to ask them for Kimchi. The noodle soup was mediocre but very overpriced. It was priced at $15. It almost tasted like Costco's frozen noodle soup. The wings were alright as well. So we asked for check. Well, just give us our check, they took another 15 to 20 mins. Finally our check arrives and we see that we have been billed for Kimchi and had not been given happy hour prices for the drinks. So we asked the waiter to correct it. After another long wait, the waiter comes back with our credit cards swiped with the wrong amount. Damn! This was one the worst experiences I have had in a very long time. We literally spent around 3 hours for mediocre food, drinks and not a great ambiance. The servers looked like they were overloaded with lots of orders as the place was packed and many were waiting outside to try their Chinese New Year pop up menu. My dining friend and I got right down to it with an order of truffle deviled eggs with chive and crispy prosciutto. Delicious! I was mad that we only got one order of them. Given the times, the food menu is limited to several of their 'hits. Just give them a call and let them know what you want and when you arrive, give them a call and a friendly staff member will put it in the back of your vehicle. My wife and I had the Hot Cheeto Fried Deviled Eggs, which is not what I had thought, there was definitely a crunch from top to bottom and the brined egg was no secret which actually was a burst of flavor, it even held up on our arrival at home. The burger is actually a great take on the smashburger as it was packed with a whole lot of flavor while not looking gigantic despite the two patties. We also had the Hot Chicken, which is identified as Nashville hot, but, I don't know if its because I eat a lot of spicy food, but it just reminded me of an Original Chick-Fil-A sandwich with little to no spice, but the piece of chicken itself is huge, put the slaw on top of the chicken to make it even more delicious. My take, at this time, Wet City is relying a lot on their alcohol with an extensive menu of Beer and Mixed drinks with only a few options to satisfy the appetite, but those options are some of their best items. Honestly, this review is years overdue. Wet City is the best kept secret that isn't so secret anymore! The chef keeps the menu items interesting, changes them as new ideas flow, and uses great, seasonally available ingredients whenever possible. Their recent nationwide publicity on Bon Appetit, Thrillist, Forbes (among others) and TONS of local publicity is so well-deserved, it would be selling them short to just say "great job," they have earned every bit of publicity and deserve even more. Great in-house brews plus other great microbrews, their Spaghett which has transformed a Miller High Life into something amazing... and that food menu... *drool* So many reasons to give Wet City praise! Sadly, when we got there it wasn't nearly as exciting and inviting as we had hoped . It was dark, and boring to say the least ... more like "Wet Blanket" as my pals put it . The one gal with the mask gave me an attitude when I asked her what the frozen beverage was ... and seemed even more annoyed when I asked her to repeat it since I couldn't hear her clearly. ( please note that the frozen drink machine wasn't labeled with the drinks name or else this could have easily been avoided.) I came here for the first time for happy hour. Their actual specials for happy hour leave much to be desired. $2 off an $8 pint, and only some of the beers actually have that pint option. Kind of confusing, but I was sure everyone does it and that the bartender would be understanding. Unfortunately, the bartender we had was incredibly rude to everyone in my party of 7, and it really made our first experience here pretty lackluster. As far as the beer, they have some really good options, and while expensive they are unique and delicious. As far as the food, there weren't really many options that were on special. Their snacks were a dollar off, so I tried the fancy tots and hot Cheetos fried deviled eggs. The fancy tots were really not great. An attempt at an asian inspired tater tot fell flat, as it just doesn't mesh well with the heaviness of the potatoes. I will say that the deviled eggs were actually a hit for me, they were creative and actually pretty good. Lately, one of my go to spots in Mount Vernon has been Wet City. Not only is the rotating beer selection fantastic but the food consistently impresses me. Before seeing a show, my girlfriend and I needed something to eat (and of course, a drink). The tap list changes regularly, so I always use this as an opportunity to try a new beer. If you're having trouble choosing from the expansive list, the bartenders are very knowledgeable and can help you choose. The best beer for you. We decided to start with the Soft Pretzels with Cheese Sauce. These were awesome, the pretzels were nice and soft with a nice chew to them and the sauce was thick and cheesy. A perfect combo. My girlfriend ordered the Hot Chicken and omg was this delicious. The chicken was expertly fried giving it a crispy exterior with a juicy interior. It also had a good bit of heat that was tempered by the slaw. I almost always order this when I'm at Wet City. On this visit, I ordered one of my other favorites, the No Temp Deluxe Burger. It's called no temp because it's a smash burger and it's one of the best I've had. The two patties were topped with melted American cheese, shaved red onions, lettuce, and pickles. Spent the day in Baltimore Maryland and needed something to eat after visiting a few breweries. After a few google searches we found Wet City. It was a very quaint bar located in the heart of the city. When you walk in you get a very friendly vibe. Latest music playing in the background, dimmed colorful lights. The staff was very friendly. Two of the staff members must be 2chainz fan because that were wearing 2chainz shirts with his picture on it as their uniform shirt which was cool. The staff greeted us quickly, suggested drinks and food. The drink menu is extensive. Only complaint limited food menu but the food we order was good. I really enjoyed the Nashville chicken meal & lemon pepper wings. The fries were excellent. I believe they were hand cut. Went here for an adventure -- different beers and, what I will dub, "elegant bar food". Don't let the "bar food" part of it fool you, they have high(er) end class food for a decent price. Beers are great and change -- so I will just say that you'll be able to find something that is out of your norm but enjoyable. What we are: Short Rib Poutine -- 10/10 -- Man... I am a guy for comfort and delicious food. I am a red meat kind of guy, love me some gravy, and potatoes. That's all encompassing. The flavors were spot on and perfect proportion. Got more short rib than expected too. Would order again, hell, I would come here just for this and a pint. No Temp Burger -- 6/10 -- Well this is a burger. Didn't 'wow' me but wasn't horrible. I really enjoy Wet City; it has a modern vibe but a welcome neighborhood feel, with the bar team in t-shirts and jeans. After just a few visits, I am welcomed like an old friend. Even though it's in that kind of weird part of Mount Vernon that can be a little tricky to get to, there are so many great things happening here. I expected to find new things at a bar named after Maryland's refusal to adhere to those crazy prohibition rules. First, from the moment you walk up - guided by the neon blue sign like a lighthouse beacon. I love how bright the place is - LED lights and white walls with a slightly pink wavy lines that mirror the flow on their tees. There might be a slight Ikea style flair happening here, but I like the clean lines; they create space so you don't feel crowded while you're perusing the menu. Since I prefer sitting at the bar, the beer menu on the board behind the taps often catches my eye. Their 20 tap beer selection changes regularly. It's possible to come every week and have new choices. My favorite part about their menu is the smiling and sad face stamps as the kegs get kicked and new ones come on-line. This spot is fantastic for folks who aren't sure if they like beer or who are ready to try new ones, as you can get any of their taps in two sizes. I had no reason not to expect good things about the food, although I have been struggling to find a bar with great drinks, friendly bartenders and bar crowd and good food. Turns out - Wet City is that bar. They have a smaller burger on happy hour for about $8 and it comes with fries. It's a great deal and only the beginning of the culinary experience at Wet City. The menu has a good mix of small sharable snacks like fries and popcorn, but also has entrée sized dishes and fun specials like this duck confit. The beautifully tender meat under this crispy duck skin made for a great bite. The richness of the game bird was complimented with the pickled onions. This was a well-balanced dish. Sometimes they even host local pop-ups - like when Local Fry stopped in a made some Korean inspired dishes like these gochujang wings. Crispy skin slathered with a stick-to-your-fingers sauce made these spicy wing just what I wanted.
