While out shopping around the uptown village shopping center, I needed something small to hold me off until dinner. Wetzel's pretzels have always been good for a quick finger food snack. This particular location or this particular day wasn't the best . It's a lot of teens that work at this location and there's a lot of playing around and unprofessional side conversations being had behind the counter, that makes it a little frustrating when you're trying to order. No sense of urgency or consideration for the customers who aren't interested in their what sounded like high school drama. I really do enjoy seeing teens out working making their own money, but I also feel that they have to grasp a better understanding that this is a job and not a hang out spot and that its some else's company that they are representing. I ordered the cheesy dog bites. Someone was in the back putting some together and told me it would be a 10-15 min wait. They were simply just ok, I feel they could have been cooked harder/longer, because some of them were doughy/ mushy and after eating a couple of them I realized that they tasted better when I ate each component separately. I got excited when I saw this place as I love a good hot pretzel. I had my sister in love with me and she was excited about the frozen hot chocolate sign we saw so we decided to stop in. When we went in, we asked about a cinnamon pretzel or any other pretzel they had as the only one in the display had jalapeños & pepperonis. We were told it would be about a 10 minute wait so we opted for the hotdog bites and the frozen hot chocolate which totaled $14. We took a seat outside and my sister in loves face showed disappointment. I asked, is it not good? She replied that it wasn't sweet at all and it felt like disappointment in a cup. The hotdog bites weren't any better. The cheese that's on top of them seems like decoration as you can't taste any cheese and when we bit into them the hotdog literally shot out the back of them where we had just the pretzel. at first I was like oh no biggie we all make mistakes, because the place was smoking.... it was foggy. it was clear something was burning. I asked for my pretzels and got them, but they were hardly covered- poorly coated in the sugar and cinnamon... some of them lacked cinnamon. when I grabbed another I realized something looked like a roach leg... it was hair baked into the bread (still not good but more preferable.) I grabbed another, and realize a lot of hairs and baked into the breads. Please do better, cover your hair when working. read more

So, we stopped by here because my daughter wanted the pretzel bites. The place is super tiny and could be ran just a little bit more efficient. There was a line out the door, two registers and four employees working. Only one person was on the register and she was slow as molasses. Once the two patrons in front of us has their order taken and it was our turn the young lady walked away without a word to go do something else. It was bad enough that the wait was so long, but to just walk away without saying "one moment please", or SOMETHING... smh. At any rate when she came back she did apologize and was polite. Still cannot believe I just experienced this... Every now and then I treat myself to a pretzel. There is a Wetzel's near my house in Hillside Village in Cedar Hill. I stopped in tonight to get one. Young lady asked what I wanted and I said, 'one salted pretzel please and I need it served to me by someone else please because, I am standing here looking at you with your hand down your pants.' They have no idea what the are doing. There was a huge line and they Messed up everyone's order. The manager was called for every order to fix the mistakes. Got a drink and they did not have straws. I went there today, they have great customer service! They welcomed me in nicely, had conversations and was treated well. the food was nice and fresh. No greeting at all just a 15 year old yelling at you as soon as you walked in the door from another customer opening the wrong door for me as they were exiting. I turned and said excuse me I was coming through the door the customer was exiting through he was opening it for me. How was I at fault? Worst customer service I feel like the employee Catherine and her manager with the orange hair were super rude and racist I feel because as soon as I went in there Catherine kept rushing us to order while me and my mom were trying to decide what to eat only for them to take 25 minutes she said it would only take about 15 minutes for my mom's order, but the customers that ordered after us were getting their food right away Catherine was so polite to them I guess because they were specifically black and I'm hispanic not once did she smile while we ordered. So we went back inside after 15 minutes I asked if it was ready catherine said it wasn't and smirked I didn't wanna say anything I bit my tongue at first and waited like 10 more minutes because there was people ordering as soon as I get to the cashier I asked for an update on the food she asked the manager with orange hair saying it's not ready that it'll take 15 minutes and the way she said it like it was inconvenient to be asked man I was mad and did not hold back telling her that I was already told that 25 minutes ago then she got attitude saying she understands that I was already told that it takes a while I said no ma'm I was told 15 not 30 more minutes then she said I can get a refund she didn't even apologize for making us wait my mom didn't even get to eat and she was feeling weak since she's diabetic. Is it me or is it "kids now days" (I sound like my mother) have no training or maybe sense of common customer service courtesy? We went yesterday and the young man working the register looked miserable. He never once smiled, actually looked annoyed that we came to order pretzels. We asked for cinnamon bites and he told us "10 minutes" instead of "it will be a 10 minute wait, do you mind waiting?" Or something else more pleasant than how/what he said. We decided to just get pizza bites (which were hard). When we left I told him thank you- because I have manners and he just looked at me. I honestly wondered if his dog died or something because he just looks like he detests working there. Around 1pm on today, I walked in right before another couple, but I didn't receive a greeting, they started to help the couple and paid no attention to me, they seemed to have been talking, with two leaning on the counter by where they make the Pretezels. When I pointed out that I came in first, the one guy ( I am guessing he is the manager on duty) said "well technically they were coming in the side door and then changed their minds and came around the front but since they aren't ready you can help her.," to the cashier and then they all began making little snarky comments and complaining, that I made a comment about not being acknowledge. I went ahead and made my order but the cinnabitz were chewy and just not very good. I had my sister go in for a refund because I didn't want to deal with them again.
