I took a colleague on a Friday evening, talking up the tasty pizza and laid back vibe. I was warned that the kitchen was busy and the pizza would take longer than usual but I was prepared to wait and enjoy a couple of beers. Aware of the difficulties restaurant owners face, it was only upon closing my tab that I mentioned the unreasonable wait of 1 hour and 30 minutes for one pizza. Rather than acknowledging the oversight, Danielle, one of the managers, was condescending and aggressive, trying to justify the delay. The people working at Canter's were incredibly rude and kept bouncing me from one counter to the other. Please note: these counters are across from each other and it seemed like the employees had some kind of interpersonal conflict. They were rude to each other, to me. I finally went the host to get help and he brushed me off and said I couldn't pick up here. Fortunately, one woman came out from the back, a server, and she got my order for me. Of course, she was immediately reprimanded for helping me. I would definitely go again to Shappy's if the pickup was anywhere else.
