This is indeed a chain, but I absolutely LOVE this bagel spot. I used to come here every other morning to have breakfast. They sometimes have a Coffee and Cars event right outside. You walk up and there is someone ready to take your order and make to your liking (cream cheese, toasted, etc). The bagels are always fresh and it smells so good inside. I've lived in the area almost nine years and for whatever reason, I hadn't been to Western Bagel until today. I tried two things: everything bagel with lox and the brekkie bagel. Both were really delicious and very filling. The lox bagel really scratched an itch I've had for a while so I needed that. The egg and sausage brekkie bagel was served piping hot. Absolutely delicious bagels here! We came before going to Six Flags and I got a garlic bagel and it was so perfectly baked and cream cheesed that I was in Heaven eating the whole thing. The garlic was crunchy and so flavorful, just how I like it! The staff was also friendly, although it did take a while to get our 4 bagels, I think in the least, they were made to perfection. The bagels here are delicious and there is always a great selection. There is always a lot of different cream cheeses to choose from as well. It is busier on Saturday mornings since the Cars & Coffee car show happens in the parking lot. If you like butter, you can also order your toasted bagel with butter and cream cheese. I used to work in Burbank and frequented the Western Bagel near Porto's bakery. I also have been to the other locations. Service was great. There are plenty of parkings located in desolate shopping center. The bagel was not good at all. I question that if they even boiled the dough before they baked them. Bagels supposed to be dense and heavy. The bagel I had was just like the regular soft bread. So much tomatoes on my bagel was not good either. I would not come back here. It was a horrible experience, I ordered 12 dozen green bagels a week before to assured punctuality and accuracy. I got none. I got there four minutes late and still had to wait and I was asked if I can self serve the cream cheese, I said no. I placed my order online on 12/5/25 for a 6:30 am pick-up on 12/9/25. Knowing this location NEVER has the order ready I arrived @ 6:40 am. Rude staff. I dont know what's up with the crew right here. I've been to plenty of Western Bagels, but this branch is the rudest. I ordered on the phone, gave my husband's name for pick up. When he got there, Brianna asked him what's the name for the order. He went ahead and said his name. She said there's nothing for that person. I guess they kept going back and forth and Brianna got pissed. When a different staff intervened, she found his name on the phone orders. Brianna said, "I only take care of the online order." My hubby got so mad because, did he have to know that Brianna only takes care of online orders? She was the one that asked him in the first place. Or she could've asked the person in charge for the phone orders. To top it of, when I called, I spoke to the manager. I told him, that when the staff gets disrespectful to the customers, he should tell them to take a break, to calm down. His answer to me was, "I can't tell her when to take a break, only she can do that." You're the manager, part of your job is to tell the staff when to take a break. We actually have laws to abide by when an employee need to take a break. In short, staff needs re-training on customer service or maybe rethink and streamline the order pick up. Weekend managers probably re-training on how to handle difficult situations/staff. Well, anyway. who am i? I'm just a customer who got a really bad experience here. Not going back ever. read more

My wife and I have been visiting Western Bagel for the past few Saturdays. This morning (09/07/24), we placed a to-go order and requested the cream cheese on the side. Unfortunately, the two containers of cream cheese we received were very old and rotten, emitting a foul odor reminiscent of feet and vomit. My wife and daughter didn't notice at first and ended up eating some of the spoiled cream cheese. We promptly returned the rotten cream cheese and bagels to the store (having to get back in our car and drive across town - inconvenient). Although the staff offered us a refund, they seemed unapologetic and unconcerned about serving rotten food to their customers. It appears that food safety is not a priority at Western Bagel. Unless you enjoy a side of food poisoning with your bagels, I would recommend avoiding this establishment. read more
