If you are hungry, don't go here! We waited an hour for the chicken, and decided to get a refund. The girl didn't even apologize . This place has such poor service , I could not believe there were that many people who sat there wAiting and did not care to speak up. I can't remember if I've reviewed them since they moved and changed names, but they deserve an extra mention. Be prepared to wait, though!! Their rush is nothing nice!! Worth. Every. Second. But know before you go. They may say 20 minutes but this could mean 15 or 60. Either way, I'm here for it! The shrimp have lacked slightly on my last 2 visits but I know they are facing some staffing challenges. I'm confident they'll get worked out and I won't stop supporting them in the meantime. Shrimp are typically perfectly seasoned, breaded, and cooked. I can't wait for the return. They are the quintessential entrepreneurship that our economy is founded on. Their establishment screams small business in that they fully understand the value of service and quality and you just feel like you're at home, here. Stopped in spur of the moment and ordered the 5 piece chicken tenders. They were FULL SIZE tenders (not cut in half like Cane's). The chicken was hot moist and tender. The breading was crispy crunchy and had a good flavor. I am glad I stopped in, you will be you did as well. read more

I decided to go out of my way to support a black owned restaurant. So, I drove on my lunch break to What's Cluckin from Mckinney. I ordered online and received my confirmation when my order would be ready. I arrived on time and was told, my order was given to another customer. I was told "Sorry about that ma'-am". Advised it would take about 10 more minutes to prepare some additional food. Actually took longer than that. So, I patiently waited. However there wasn"t even an offer, of a bottle of water, etc for the inconvenience. The best part about this situation my food was hot and fresh. read more

The food was great! The hush puppies were delicious. The chicken had plenty of flavor.

Staff was very nice and accurate with their timing as far as how long the food would take. You can still sit outside and eat, but it's too hot out for that so I took my food home. The only con I have is the chicken was a tad bit soggy for my liking being tossed in the sauce. I should've asked for extra crispy, but with it being my first time here I'll know in the future. I highly recommend the Chicago mile sauce; it's sweet and all around amazing especially on the fries. Over all very satisfied, just ask for extra crispy!!! read more

Today was my first time visiting this restaurant and I ordered the small livers combo with fries. I like the fact they have bottled drinks. The livers and fries were hot and crispy and I received a lot of food at a reasonable price. I plan to visit again and try other menu items. UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!! I'm sitting in my car directly in front of the restaurant and i call in to place an order to go and I'm told by a gentleman that all computer systems are down and the manager/owner is in stand still traffic to fix the systematic issue. But as I'm sitting in my car i see others walking in to place orders after i was told differently and moments later i see others walking into the establishment. This is not my first unpleasant experience with What's Cluckin, i supported the previous establishment Chicken Coop but the disappointment seems to continue. I purchased a variety of items to try a bit of everything. The chicken was crispy and flavorful, the catfish nuggets were savory and delicious and the chicken strips were perfect. The chicken gizzards were very good but most of the breading fell off. I called ahead to place my order and there was a little snafu with the order details but I understand things like that can happen. I will definitely go back and try more items on the menu. read more

The worst chicken I've eaten in my entire life. I reAlly wanted this place to be good. The prices are high and prices of chicken are tiny and has obsoletely no flavor. Visited this place this evening and it was absolutely awesome! The Chicago mild sauce had me reminiscing about Harold's on the south side of Chicago! The staff is friendly and the food is delicious! The establishment is very clean with beautiful artwork. My prediction is that they're going to have to find a larger space soon! This place is amazing! Truly, the best fried chicken (and hush puppies and sauces) I've had in 20 years. Juicy and flavorful breast meat and the portions were huge. Being from Chicago, my family and I cannot wait to go back to try the Maxwell Street Polish and the pizza puff! One of the few places a places that has chicken livers and gizzards. Fried mushrooms and tater tots are delicious. Ranch dressing for the mushrooms. Unusual is a dry barbeque that is tasty. read more

Sorry, but never again. We have been doing what we can to support small business, during this shutdown, so we decided to give What's Cluckin a try. We placed an order for two dinners, nothing big. After waiting 20 minutes, (which is not a huge surprise - if their frying chicken fresh for every order, it takes some time) we asked how our order was coming. She said it would be just a few more minutes. After another 20 minutes, still no food, so we asked again. We were assured it would be just a couple more minutes. After another 15 minutes of waiting, we asked again, and were told it would be about 30 minutes. Obviously they somehow lost our order, or gave our food to someone else. I get it, mistakes happen, but they wouldn't admit that they made a mistake, and didn't even feel the need to apologize for wasting an hour of our lives. Had they done that, I wouldn't be writing this review. I would have given them another chance. Nope. Never again... read more
