Came by for dessert the other day after I sad a Sponsored listing on Yelp the other day. The dessert shop is located in a strip mall facing away from Lawrence Expressway in Sunnyvale. Parking is plentiful in the parking lot. Staff were cordial and wore aprons with some letters that were falling off...seemed weird. Opted for the matcha millefeuille and it was excellent! Numerous layers of super light crepe filled with strong matcha flavor. Most importantly this wasn't too sweet! The packaging was A+. The slice of cake came in a fantastic box along with a couple forks! $13.5 for a slice of cake.

One of our fave cake stores here in Bay Area! We love that it has the perfect amount of sweetness. Worth checking out!

You'll miss out if you haven't tried this amazing cake heaven yet!! It has been my favorite and go-to place for the last 3-4 years and counting! First of all, let's talk about aesthetic! I love that the owner uses neutral colors and nicely accents it with plants, creating such a sanctuary! As a plant mom, I approve. This cake place specialized in Mille crepe cakes with all the specialized flavors, such as durian, pork floss, matcha, crème brûlée, tiramisu, red bean mochi, etc. Their cakes are light, melt in your mouth and not so sweet! If you're Asian, that's the highest and best compliment for a dessert! If you opt to eat your cakes in store, there are cute table arrangements for you to sit down and enjoy the plants. You can ask for a free pot of hot tea of your choice. The staff will make and bring the hot tea to you for safety reason. I used to work close to What's More and it has been my escape whenever work became unbearable. Something about their perfect and well made dessert and the ambience of the store itself always work like a charm every time. My stress melts away with every bite of delicious cakes. They sometimes have seasonal items too such as soft persimmon mochis or molten cakes. Cakes also have limited quantities so make sure you come early :) The owner is always happy to see you and has great service. One bonus thing is that they're dog friendly so you may bring your pup too for an afternoon tea experience. And there're always abundant parking spots around the store :)

My review is based solely on the preorder and pickup experience for the seasonal persimmon desserts. I kept seeing posts about whaT's More cake's persimmon cakes, so I decided to give them a try. I preordered the persimmon molten cake and the persimmon crepe cake through their website. The online ordering process was smooth, and both cakes were ready right on time for pickup. Unfortunately, the persimmon molten cake was disappointing. While I appreciated that it wasn't overly sweet, it was very mild in flavor. It tasted more like a simple sponge cake with a persimmon filling in the center, and overall, it felt quite underwhelming. In contrast, the persimmon crepe cake was much better. Each layer had persimmon cream and jam, which gave it a stronger and more pronounced persimmon flavor without being overly sweet. Overall, it's a cute cake shop worth checking out if you're looking for unique flavors in the South Bay. Parking: Plenty of parking available in the lot.

My friend and I tried the mango mochi and durian mochi. The mango one was my favorite--it was really good, and the mochi skin had a nice sticky rice aroma. They also offered samples of a new cake, which was a nice touch. The shop is pretty small, so when we came during a busy time, there weren't any seats available. Service was quick though, and we didn't have to wait long for our order. Overall, a cute dessert spot with tasty mochi, especially the mango flavor.

Got a couple cakes and mochi here as a bday gift and it was so delicious. I tried the black sesame cake, durian cake and durian mochi. The black sesame cake has strong sesame flavor yet it was very light! I'm a huge durian fan and the cake has very large spreads of durian so I loved and the mochi is perfectly chewy! I would definitely come here to get my durian fix next time.

We ate the cakes so fast we forgot to snap a single picture--they were that delicious! The crepe cakes here are the highlight: wonderfully delicate and beautifully layered, showing true craftsmanship. We indulged in the classic Chocolate Tiramisu and also loved the unique, savory-sweet balance of the Pork Sung Salted Egg flavor. The service was wonderful and friendly. The setting is cute, they offer complimentary tea if you dine in, and parking was easy on Sunday. The only reason this isn't a perfect 5-star review is the premium price point. It's definitely a splurge, but for a special treat, the quality makes it worth it. We'll happily be back!

    Orange Pistachio molten cake
    Arvind S.

Amazing orange pistachio molten cake! It's such a simple cake, yet very flavorful and not too sweet because it's not heavy on cream (it's just the light molten part on top). Got a 6 inch for a birthday for a group over 10 and it was just about enough. It was such a unanimous hit amongst my group that this is the only place they want birthday cakes from now on. They had the happy birthday topper for free! Did a same day order. I'll be back for the same cake many more times for sure, and probably also for some of the crepe cakes.

Had a wonderful time here today that bumps up my review from a year ago. A friend of mine wanted to do a tea tasting, but I wasn't in the mood for a ton of food or $$$ so I thought about returning here. What a GOOD choice to fill that in between! We had a really sweet waitress today who blended goji berries and lychee black tea. I was able to have 4-5 cups of tea from the pot. Love that they still offer this free tea in-store. Cake slices were good today, nothing changed from last visit. Overall they've improved their service and interior to make this a really solid option for an afternoon tea experience.

Preordered their orange pistachio molten cake for pickup. The pickup was really easy you show them your confirmation and they already have the cake prepackaged. The cake was fluffy and soft the pistachio orange cream on the inside was a nice surprise. I think the ratio with cream and cake is about 50:50. Overall I did enjoy it and would try their other cakes but it is on the pricer side for cakes and slices.

    molten strawberry chiffon cake
    Michaela Y.

What an adorable cake shop! I'm a huge fan of light fluffy asian chiffon cakes. I came to try the molten strawberry chiffon cake and it really hit the spot. The cake shop sells crepe cake slices, boxed cakes and molten chiffon cakes. If you just show up, there's a decent selection of crepe cakes, but the molten chiffon and boxed cakes tend to be a bit more limited. You can pre order them online if you want to make sure it's available for you! We were lucky enough to get their last molten chiffon cake and it was strawberry flavored! The chiffon cake itself is moist and so light and fluffy. It had a light cream top and was filled with strawberries. These cakes are meant to serve 4 people, or 2 if you want double slices :) This is going to be my new go to spot if i ever need a small cake for just a few people. The cafe itself is very cute and has a handful of tables. While they don't sell any drinks, they provide complimentary tea to drink while you eat your cake. We got the lychee black tea and it tasted really high quality!

Stooped by to try their persimmon mochi, and it did not disappoint. The mochi is SOO soft. The persimmon inside is fresh, sweet and juicy.

amazing bakery that specializes in asian flavors and crepe cakes. all of their cakes are super light and fluffy. it's my go to places for getting birthday cakes. my favorite is the durian crepe cake!!

Is there indoor seating? Do you guys take reservations?

Hi, we do have indoor seating. You can call us at 4084629797 to reserve a table.

Is this for preorders and large orders only? Or can someone walk in and purchase one or two slices?

Hi! We have sliced crepe cakes everyday for walk-in customers!

Do you have any vegan options?

Can I preorder through any food APPs?

You can preorder through the App called Yamimeal

Is What's More still offering their midweek Hi Tea? Heard the cakes maybe only made to order now...us that true?

We highly recommend pre-order! But still have cakes available for walk in customers every day. The mid-week high tea is for walk in customers and can be chosen from our random cakes.

For the molten cakes, what size would you suggest for 4 people? 4" 5" 6"?

If everyone wants a small slice then I would say 4". Otherwise you can err on the safe side and get a 5" if people will want more than 1 slice. I got a 4" for 5 people and we split the cake in 8 slices.

We are here now on Saturday 3/20 3pm, but the store is closed. Will someone be here? Yelp and Google says it's open.

I know you don't take orders anymore due to covid-19, but is your store still open? Anything available in store?

They are open. But I would recommend to order online and pickup in store. Because I think most of their cakes are made to order. Good luck!

Not only does it get really busy after work hours, many parking spots are reserved for other businesses. It's also usually crowded inside, making snagging a seat a bit hard. It's a popular spot, and I can see why--the menu features many different bingsoo options alongside other desserts, and they're all very beautiful and cute. There's also free WiFi and bathroom access. I will note that they don't seem particularly diligent about cleaning up between customers. You pick your own seats, and when I finally found a table, there was food residue visible on the tabletop. Their prices are a little higher than some other spots in SJ (ranging from ~$13 to $19 pre-tax), and I don't think the quality of the bingsoo is noticeably better to justify the price. I tried a pricier one (the premium strawberry), and found it to be quite good, but not $20 good. Plus, some aspects seem designed more for pictures than for eating. The little cheesecake slice is a bit hard because it's cold and difficult to eat with the shaved ice. That said, their bingsoo does taste good! The fruit tasted fresh and sweet, and the portion was enough for me to share with my partner. I wish the condensed milk was provided on the side instead of already poured on top, but I didn't mind the amount they gave. I may not be back immediately in the future, but I wouldn't mind visiting again. I would probably stick to the lower-priced options myself, though. If you visit, do keep in mind that it's usually really busy--your order probably will take a minute, and whether that's worth it or not is up to you.

My first experience was pretty mid because the ceremonial matcha latte was VERY strong and bitter. I couldn't finish it and it made me super jittery. After coming back a few more times though, I found a couple things I really liked. The Crème Brûlée Matcha was delicious. I finished the entire drink. You can't change the sweetness level, which is unfortunate, but their recommended sweetness actually balanced the stronger matcha really well. The ice cream is probably the best thing here. Super creamy, perfectly sweet and really well blended. I would honestly come back just for the ice cream. The strawberry matcha latte was pretty unmemorable to me, and the hojicha was also extremely bitter. Service was good. The barista was kind and helpful, which I appreciated. You order through a kiosk, so there isn't a ton of interaction overall. When I first came around their opening, there was basically no line. After they started getting more hype, the lines became longer and longer. I think it's worth trying, but personally I wouldn't wait in a huge line for it. Overall, the matcha itself tastes authentic and is prepared well, but some drinks are just too bitter for my preference. My recommendations: the ice cream or Crème Brûlée Matcha. Those were easily the standouts for me.
