    Chicken burger

I've gotten alot good comments on whataburger . Was finally within distance of one. Overall it was a good option for some quick eats . I wouldn't make it a must absolutely have but the chicken was crispy, bread wasn't soggy, drink was nice and cold -win win !

We've never had Whataburger. There isn't one where we live but we hear about it. My bf was saying that people say there are 3 good chains out there: In & Out, Five Guys and Whata and we HAD to try it now that we were so close to one. This was not on my itinerary but I decided to let him have one thing for himself in this life ;) This location was a few blocks from our hotel so we decided to come through the drive thru around 815pm. We got our food within 20 min but that wait felt much longer. It really felt like we were waiting days in that line. We ordered meals, one with onion rings but I'm a doof and forgot to check the bag before we left the drive thru so we both ended up with fries. Which was sad because the fries were so darn salty and they were stale and cold. The fries were soooo lackluster but the burger wasn't bad. It wasn't In & Out, or even Five Guys, so I'm not sure that those people know what they are talking about. But the burger wasn't bad. I think I was thrown off because I love tomato on a burger but they didn't have any, claiming a national shortage. Which is odd since I've had tomato on a lot of stuff during this trip. Would I eat here again in a pinch? Yes. Would I seek out another Whataburger? No.

I'm not sure why this place is rated so poorly. From my recent visit, it was clean, full of friendly staff, and the food was great. Fast food places are rarely this nice anymore. For an expatriate Texan getting his Whataburger on, I couldn't have been happier.

Was waiting to order for sometime and then they take forever was waiting for 27 minutes just for a dry burger

Not sure you can see, but clearly masks are optional for workers while making food.

26 minutes.... 26 minutes from order to receiving does not make this fast food. There are 4 of us, so for burger meals. 26 minutes? I'm unsure if NM mask mandate, or restaurant eat ins are still restricted. I clearly am not the only one. We saw multiple people trying to access the restaurant, and were turned away. No signage. That would have been smarter. The manager did come out and apologized. He also added 2 apple pies and some coupons for next time. He is why this place gets two stars. The burgers themselves were thrown together. I get you're busy, but take a minute to make sure you don't have onion on on corner, avocado on another corner... was not tasty. Not sure there will be a next time. We were passing through and my Son wanted to try them. This may be the first and only time we eat at what a burger.

Food quality is consistent and good but sometimes a bit slower on the drive thru.

Gross...way too long to get food. The bun tasted like it was at least 2 months old. Would not recommend this whataburger to anyone.

Same whataburger food. Just remodelled. But manager asking an employee who is helping a customer to answer the phone. No bueno!

If you like waiting for 10-15 minutes for "fast food," this place may be just what you're looking for. Friendly people, slow service.

Then they constantly bring the order to the cars behind the cars in front so you have to wait and wait for the cars in front of you to be served so you can leave. No sense of urgency not much hustle, but always polite. These folks are always my first choice but if there is any line at all I just pull around and go to McDonalds where I know I won't grow a full beard waiting to get my order.

The room is kept clean by a laser-focused staff who display the effectiveness of Indy pit crews. The owner is on-site and working shoulder-to-shoulder wherever needed. . The drive-through lanes show exactly why this corporation's business model is studied in universities. Lord, but it's chaos even during the tail end of lunch rush. Not because of anything anyone is doing wrong, simply because it's so popular. There are people EVERYWHERE. Parking is hard to get, and you have to approach from odd angles because the drive-through is so popular that it affects local traffic. And, sadly, not all the customers share the same idea of the civility that is the hallmark of this chain: my chair was rocked by two sets of rotten kids (whose mothers were with them) in the booth behind me (cleaned in a flash after the first bunch left by the amazing Chick-fil-A staff). Oy. It's hard not to give the place four stars because everything was so well done - my kudos to the owner, management and staff - but this late-lunch visit only rates an "okay" because the super-popular place was such a madhouse. Frankly, it convinced me to never return anywhere near a mealtime.

Now, where I live every time there is news about a new fast-casual chain burger joint opening in town there are are always people saying that they wish it were such and such instead - and Whataburger is often that such and such. Since I didn't have any other plans for dinner I decided to walk over and check it out. On the cashier's recommendation I decided to try the hatch chile burger (yeah, it's Albuquerque after all!) with onion rings and a prickly pear-raspberry drink. I felt like the burger was a pretty standard fast food burger - while large, I don't particularly judge my food by volume. It is nice that they have southwestern flavors, but per the menu it doesn't seem like they are available on smaller burgers. I was happy that the onion rings were battered & fried, rather than those weird breaded rings that seem to be extruded minced onion. They also have a spicy ketchup that isn't really all that spicy but is a nice change from regular ketchup. I was glad to see that they had more than just soda available for drinks. However, I did feel like it was a tad expensive for what it is - I probably won't seek them out even if they do eventually open a franchise near home.

My chicken strips were hot & taste great. Gravy needs to be thicker. Staff were friendly, helpful, & quick to help. Building is new, super clean, well setup. Only draw back is parking is tight. I was pulling a trailer & had to park on street. No motor home will fit in this parking lot.
