Stopped by this place looking for food that I wouldn't feel guilty of partaking in after a grueling hot pilates session. After a good workout, this is the spot. The meals are light but offering the post-workout protein that is necessary. I ordered the breakfast hidden menu item of chocolate chip waffles w/ syrup and peanuts butter w/ yogurt on the side. On my way out I took a blondie snack for the road which consisted of a protein infused pound cake. This was my first time at Rocket Kitchen and I was impressed with the menu and concept of the restaurant. Everything was ready to eat after 1 minute in the micro wave. My chicken teriyaki was fresh and delicious. The ginger sauce was superb. The service was excellent and I was surprised that they don't ask for a gratuity when paying. That's a first. I ate there with my son and purchased 2 more dinners for the next night. I hope Rocket Kitchen opens in Santa Fe soon. read more

You can pop in a grab some prepared meals already or put in an order. Only downside is you have to order from what they make and their menu doesn't change. If you are looking for a good healthy alternative to fast food then this is it! If you're curious as to my 3 star rating you're going to have to work for and read till the end. Sorry The concept is fast food that is both fresh, healthy, filling, and actually tasty. All their meals are 550 calories or less. The meals are pre-made same day and you can order as many meals as you want (depending of course how much stock they have). So if your looking to stock up for the whole week you can! I wanted to just give them a try and so I ordered one meal and had them warm it so I could eat in the store. That's also a great option! It's worth mentioning that the beverage selection is a bit confusing. They have bottled water, cold brew coffee on tap, and then a very large variety of energy drinks. Why the energy drinks if this is a healthy store? I know some energy drinks claim to be "healthier" options, but most are not healthy. I found it odd and confusing, but oh well. I forget the name of the item as it was a hard to pronounce name so forgive me. It was chicken breast stuffed with cheese, seasonings, and sun dried tomatoes with a side of penne whole wheat pasta and broccoli. I was very skeptical as to what I was getting since it was only 500 (and something) calories. I was not disappointed! The chicken was moist and very flavorful. I ate all the chicken first and enjoyed every bite. By the time I got to the pasta I was getting full so I just wanted to try it and take the rest for later. It was very good, but I would have preferred more broccoli and a little less pasta. But I feel like I have to point out the fact that I ate all the chicken and was FULL. So I essentially had another meal left or at least a side for another meal since I had to take the pasta for later. This made the sting of the price a little less. So let's talk about the price. This is where I drop one star. It's expensive. That one meal was $11. Now if I'm someone on a budget or who doesn't have a lot of money...I'm probably not going to be eating here very often if at all. Since this is supposed to be an alternative to fast food then a great way to entice more people who eat fast food is to lower your prices. When someone is trying to decide between a fast food burger joint or this place the deciding factor may very well be the prices. Most people do want to eat healthier, but can't afford $11 or more for one meal. I didn't see that they offer a discount if you buy in bulk. Things to consider. read more

Stopped by on my lunch break today to check this place out. Trying to shed that holiday weight and start eating healthy again so I figured this place would be a good start. Just Fit Foods is located in the shopping plaza next to Walgreens and Lowe's off of Paseo del Norte. Staff was very helpful when I walked in. Explained the whole concept and suggested a few of the entrees and also mentioned the secret menu. The owner came out and introduced himself and showed us the macros and nutritional information for each dish which I thought was pretty helpful for those counting every ounce. I ordered the Hatch Green Chile Turkey with rice to go. I came home and heated the container for about a minute and a half and it was delicious. I'm not a fan of meal prepping on my spare time so this might be a great option to order when I know I can't get out of the office. read more

Basically it is meal prep for the lazy folk. Aka me! I purchased two meals steak tacos and Thai chicken. Steak tacos comes with two wheat flour tortillas, jasmine lime rice (small portion), pico de gallo and chipotle mayo sauce. This was delicious! When heating it up however the meat over cooked so that was my error. However, still very tasty. Thai Chicken: grilled chicken with pickled onions and carrots, jasmine lime rice, and three spears of asparagus. Everything was great however the asparagus was a bit undercooked. The total was roughly $21 which competitive with other meal prep options in ABQ. Reason for loss in star is the lack of nutritional information. No calorie content. In all honesty this may be the worst meal I've ever had in Albuquerque. If not anywhere in the world that I have traveled. I ordered the waffles and they came in a plastic container after being heated in the microwave. There is something that appeared to be bacon but it was soft and horrible tasting. The waffles tasted like soggy cardboard. I guess they're hoping on the fact that a couple of cute girls will draw people in. I cannot say this enough. Do not go here. They should be ashamed of themselves for even calling this food. Furthermore they build themselves as very healthy. But you cannot get the nutrition info. By the time I ordered what I wanted they found a small card that showed the "protein waffles" had as many carbohydrates as they did protein. I tried this place few times and was disappointed how dry the meat was. The meat was dry and plain. The waffle and chicken was super dry when I first tried it. I'll give this place a try if they try to improve their food. I eat clean and my meat is always moist even after few days of prepping it. Went here for the first time on a quick break from work. I needed a pick me up, and welp they sale BANG energy drinks my favorite thing for energy right now. They offer apple pay which is amazing, they also have a great menu of healthy breakfast and lunch items. You can also order meals ahead of time and pick them up. For those that are looking for healthy alternatives for lunch this is the place to go. Prices are average, typically what you would spend on burger and drink you can spend here at Rocket Kitchen and get a well balanced meal and not feel guilty about it. Solid four. Great meals. The salmon was really good and they had some sort of ginger lemon dipping sauce that was amazing. After I ate my salmon, I dumped the sauce on my remaining rice and made a soup out of it. The only thing I would recommend is a few more vegetables and the price is about 2 dollars too high. I have tried other prep prep place were you get your food on a Monday and by the end of the week food is bad or not fresh. At the Rocket food is always fresh and ready to go. I would give this place 6 stars if I could. If you live a fit lifestyle and don't always have time to meal prep, this is the place for you. I've dropped in here a few times since they've opened to stock up on food and I haven't had anything I didn't like. Literally everything has been delicious. We were excited to try Rocket Kitchen because we are trying to find healthy places to eat out. We were greatly disappointed. The food was awful and they only offer water and energy drinks as beverages. I was given a side a cold gravy to go on my turkey and was told they could only warm it up if I poured it on my food. Luckily I tasted it first because it tasted terrible. The potatoes and turkey were over spiced and I couldn't eat it. My son ordered the salmon and it was not cooked in the middle. A coworker was eating a meal from here last week. I have been working 2 full-time jobs and finding healthy option for food has been difficult. I haven't had much time to cook since I work nights in Albuquerque at beginning of week and have to commute to Raton, NM for 3 days at end week. I decided to stop on my way out of Albuquerque to drive to Raton. And I am so glad I did. I purchased 3 meals to try and also was happy to see they sell Bang energy drinks. I have been drinking these instead of Monster a few months ago. I definitely will be going back to purchase more meals to get me through my work week. Just moved to ABQ and getting a place in the Brick Light District. Heard there was a new fitness food spot moving in, so naturally I drove up north to sample it. I've tried a lot of food prep places in multiple states, and this one tops them all. I've had four meals so far, and I'll be buying more tomorrow. One thing that Rocket Kitchen does that other meal prep places often fail at, is that the protein is never tough out of the microwave. Tastes delicious. My only suggestion is that the veggies taste a little raw, steam those babies a little longer. read more

Generous with 1star. I bought 2 meals . I walked in with the hope that something would actually be 'healthy' nope! Beef, turkey and chicken all pre made. Only fish choices are salmon and talapia. Seriously ! I think pharmaceutical companies own this franchise ! No vegetarian or Vegan options which is the true definition of health . I did buy the chicken pasta. Pretty cool place for meal prep items. Pretty extensive menu the owner Carlo is really awesome chatted me up while I sat and enjoyed my protein waffle. Really needed a place like this in town. Couple complaints though. No nutritional value on any of the meals. I mean what kinda nutritional meal place is this when you don't know what your putting in your body. Carlo explained that I could easily accomplish finding the macros by using my fitness pal app on my phone. Carlos; ain't nobody got time for that! That's why I came in this place to begin with. Also asked if there was a delivery option Carlo said no he would need to have trucks that are climate controlled to deliver... Apparently the menu is set in stone and will never be changed. I tried explaining how icon meals do their meals by rotating on a weekly schedule. etc and how they deliver I was told not the concept their after but I was welcome to go in and buy things in bulk to take home. All in all cool place will go back to pick up some more stuff even if it is kinda pricy.
