There was a time when I never passed up a Whataburger, they were always hot and fresh along with the fries. I have been to plenty franchises lately and everyone has been bad including this one. The burger and fries were warm. The biggest warning sign was no burgers on the grill cooking when I walked in. These kids here seem to be on the ball a little more than the other stores. Always friendly and polite. It's clean and quiet and they don't talk about how Jenny messed around with joey or any other personal stuff. Which to me is very much appreciated. Avoid this location at all costs! We waited forever. There were five cars in front of me when I ordered over the drive-through speaker. I ordered chicken strips with gravy dipping sauce. When I got to the window to pay, I watched them drop the chicken for my order into the fryer. They had five cars to prepare for my order. And they waited until I got to the window to actually begin my order. I saw five employees meandering through the counter area. No one seemed to be doing anything food related. Waited forever. We have been going to this particular Whataburger since we moved to Boy's Ranch 5 years ago. The service is wonderful and the food is always great. The place looks clean every single time we have gone inside to order. The employees are courteous all the time. The employees welcome you as you go in and say Thank You every time you leave. They always come by each table to offer condiments, straws, napkins or anything else you would like or need. This is "our" Whataburger location and will continue to be. read more

One of the best Whataburgers I've been too. I'm pretty picky because whataburger changed up my OG whatachicken and one employee in particular was extremely on point. I forgot my number and she winked at me and mouthed "this one is yours". She put all my sauces in little containers and hooked us up. Might be the best whataburger experience ever. As it was snowing and everything was closed. We had to stay In town because we were traveling back to dallas and the snow/ice/flood in the drive stopped us. And I bet everyone had a hard time getting into work. This girl should get a raise. She was so sweet and helpful while everyone else was probably off work or couldn't come in because the roads were so bad. read more

This location has been a letdown ever since I moved here. Repeatedly got my order wrong when I would go late at night. Last week went late after work through the drive thru asked if I could have a honey butter chicken biscuit. The lady said they were not serving breakfast and I asked why. She said they were getting ready to close down. It was 11:01! Last I checked they're supposed to be open 24 hours and serve breakfast 11 p.m. to 11 a.m. Don't know if this is because of COVID or not. This place is hit or miss. When it's a hit & burger is hot the food is good. I think it boils down to the manager that's in charge. I will say though any time my food or order was not up to par, they always have made good when I've complained. I ordered today on the app & the last few times I have b4 today I still had to wait when I arrived as long as if I had just driven their & went in & ordered myself. Today was better & I was pleased for the 1rst time..However about a block away from my house I reached in to grab a French fry but there was none in there to be had. I tryed to call in mid afternoon but no answer & so turned around & drove all the way back. I kind of take a bit of responsibility for that as I should have verified my order b4 I left. Bottom line Is I believe for the most part this store trys to give great service. When I was an undergrad at MIT, most of the Latino students were either from California or Texas and as such there was always this rivalry. One of them being who had the better burger. Us Cali folk claimed In-N-Out and the Texas peeps claimed Whataburger. So when I finally made it out to Texas and finally got to try one of these burgers, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was a mighty tasty burger. So when I was driving back from Oklahoma recently and going through Texas I decided to stop by and see if they were as good as I remembered them. And sure enough, the burger didn't disappoint. It was just as good as I remembered. In-N-Out still trumps it but I give credit where credit is due. read more

Let me start off by saying Whataburger is NOTHING like In and Out or Steak and Shake... Those places have sub par burgers and that leave much to be desired. I had to try Whataburger when visiting Texas this week. The one on Coulter in Amarillo just happened to be the one we visited on our way to Colorado. We loved the food - absolutely delicious, especially for fast food. But the service was slow and there was a lot of confusion with the ordering process. Totally reviewing my road trip backwards....but when you're on the road, who has time to review, especially when you're relying on McDonald's wifi.....*exhales* *glares* But anyways, on a more positive note, what is NOT McDonald's? Whataburger, that's what is NOT McDonald's. This burger packs a greasy punch that rivals Steak -N- Shake, Shake Shack, and In-N- Out Burger. So what if its possibly another version of the previously mentioned, its still good, its still greasy, cheesy and delicious. If you're in Texas, this is a MUST try. My dream is to someday be able to sit down and have a burger from Whataburger, Shake Shack, Steak N Shake AND In-N-Out Burger all in one seating. Someday I hope to be so rich that my magical burger jet plane will allow be to do such a thing. For now all I can say is that this is Texas version of the others mentioned, and that it definitely rivals them. Thank you Whataburger and Texas for the extra 5lbs. I look back fondly on those good times. I will return someday and enjoy the cheap greasy goodness that only you can provide. read more

Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed my experience and give kudos to their staff for going above and beyond. The food was pretty tasty. The food was pretty good. I had the chilie burger. It came with maybe a quarter size of chilie, so I asked for more which took forever since everyone was rushing around. I'm assuming the chick who rang us up was new because anytime anyone asked for something or to do anything she asked someone else and just stood there. Really hungry and craving Whataburger and this was the only one near my hotel. About 3 cars infront of me and took about 30min to get my food. Speaking as a former employee of this company, Whataburger restaurants in the Amarillo area really aren't really that bad. The food is generally great and you get what you pay for. The problem is the wait time. Seeing from the inside, the issue is lack of staffing. For a restaurant that should have about 18-24 employees during the busy time to get the orders out in a timely manner, most of them run about HALF that number of employees. The result? RIDICULOUSLY long wait time. Hit of miss on the guest service. Depends on what time of day you go in. Generally the bathrooms are awful and not cleaned or checked on regularly. I for one will more than likely not ever eat at Whataburger again. read more

Since I've got no response from Whataburger corporate and I've lodged a very serious complaint with them about two weeks ago when I've been promised by customer service that has been escalated and have not heard a word. The store at 34th and Coulter in Amarillo is garbage. The manager is garbage. I waited in that drive-thru line with two cars in front of me for 40 minutes. Food has been incorrect or lukewarm at best. And there's no apologies. the manager basically told me I can take my business to another store if I didn't want to come back there. So I'm going to go to every site and leave a negative review until Whataburger corporate gets ahold of me. read more

We ordered a #22 (jalapeño cheddar biscuit with egg, cheese, and sausage with hash browns) and a honey butter chicken biscuit. That's all. They got it wrong THREE times. 1st: gave us a honey butter chicken biscuit sub with a cheddar jalapeño biscuit. 2nd: forgot the hash browns (my husband was so done that he left after he got the hash browns, without checking it. Big mistake) 3rd (we are at home by this point): they have him a regular biscuit with a single sausage patty. No egg, cheese, or jalapeño cheddar biscuit. This all took place over about 20 minutes. We have never had this much trouble at a Whataburger, but I doubt we will be returning. read more
