I am a loyal customer to this location and they know my Kid always loves a large French fry. We have eaten at this location many times, for many years and it has always been reliable. The drive thru has been slow and poorly managed since 2021 and sadly the food quality has eroded as noted in the review today. Tonight we waited in their typical drive thru line -waiting line for about 10 minutes after placing and paying for our order. Cars were stacked up and gridlock had begun in the drive thru lanes. This has been the normal course for sometime. We ordered two #1 meals . Straight forward order you would think. One positive before the negative. The workers seemed to have a good attitude despite the slow service. Now the negative. When we unpacked our #1 meals at home (10 minutes from the restaurant), everything looked fine. Halfway through my burger I saw pink, not because of the Barbie effect, but because of undercooked patty meat. Concerned about food safety, I called the restaurant to let them know they are undercooking the meat, but the phone just rang and rang and rang. I tried calling 3 times. I didn't finish the burger and hope the portion I consumed was cooked enough. Usually even though the wait has typically been long, the food was good and cooked correctly. Not today. So at this point I would not recommend eating here. Food safety is the most important aspect of a restaurants product. It was straight up noon when we left the supermarket and my daughter had her heart set on Whataburger. I pulled into the lot and the drive thru was twelve cars deep and I was lucky to find a place to park. I attempted bribery to go somewhere else but she wasn't having it so I mentally prepared myself for the worst and went inside. Although the tables were full of teenagers just out of their final exams, we were able to walk right up and place our order to go. With so many cars outside I expected a long wait for the food but two minutes later someone came out with hot delicious food. I was impressed. We ate in the car because we were trapped by drive thru cars and, wow, some of these people needed to rethink their priorities. Two cars attempting to cut in line by cutting through the adjacent parking lots. Luckily I found an out before an ugly situation erupted. For your own safety, skip the drive thru. We were told that while we were in Texas that we HAD to try Whataburger--that it was a staple we needed to sample. So, late one night before we left, we finally got to try the famous burger, fries and shake. For the experience, I am glad that I got to try it--but I might have had the burgers built up in my head as being some kind of fast food holy grail. It wasn't quite there, but it was good. Beyond disappointed. I went to this location about two weeks ago ordering a plain and dry burger and a burger all the way with no tomato. That gave me an all the way burger and a burger with tomato, cheese, and no patty. I went again this past week ordering two honey butter chicken biscuits that took them 30 mins to get out to me with zero drive-they line, no one in the restaurant, and 6 employees in the back. Zero communication in their part and they were completely rude the entire time I was waiting. The manager was too busy talking to a co-worker (obviously not work related) while we waited to order for a good 2 minutes. I will never come to this location again after witnessing their laziness and blatant disregard for their customer base. We told the employee if we could get the side of jalapeños we ordered even if we had to pay ( we had paid for them already ) . She said she would go check how much is it for the jalapeños and never came back. I went to the front counter to order the jalapeños, when I was just ignored by the employees who were all in the back leaving the front unattended. I sat back down since no one was attending me. Well...it's kind of a mixture of ketchup and a BBQ/vinegar dealio...hard to explain. It's a tad darker than your standard tomato ketchup but lighter than BBQ sauce and it has a tad of garlic in it so it's just simply devine. My man's sister was actually thinking of having a BOX of the stuff sent to her in NYC if that tells you anything! And no, she's not crazy. lol Also...they offer gift certificates in increments of $5 so you can give all of your friends the gift of Fancy Ketchup for their Whataburger's and fries! It's a Whataburger. So fast food isn't actually expected to be fast which is fine, they are above average though. This particular location appears to have the local high school teens as employees and they are friendly, courteous, clean and professional in appearance, and speak great English and understand your order. Tonight was an absolute joke. This has to be the most poorly ran fast restaurant I've ever been to. I pulled into the drive through line at 7:25 and did not drive away until 7:55. Had I not been blocked by the other cars I would've driven away without my food. The food runners were absolutely lost. After explaining my order to a young girl twice I still got home with drinks that were wrong, and I clearly spelled out to her the drinks that I ordered. I've eaten What-a-burger my entire life and never experienced this level of incompetence and have never waited 30 minutes for "fast food," ever. This was the most frustrating drive through experience of my life and with so many other options I can't imagine we'll return any time soon.
