    Double smash burger
    Vik P.

Love this place and everything I've eaten here has been delicious. They also have an abundance of barreled olive oils and balsamic vinegar to taste and buy...garlic and herb and caramelized garlic are my go to's. They also have one that tastes like bacon that is perfect for eggs when you don't have bacon. The smash burger here is huge and tasty, subs are great as well...haven't tried the pastas yet, not a huge fan of penne, but I will probably give it a go sometime. People are friendly and helpful and space is very clean. From the dining area you can see straight in to the open kitchen.

A must-try neighborhood favorite--great food, great people, and consistent quality. I'll definitely be back!

I'm rarely ever in the Friendswood area. I'm thankfully my colleagues introduced me to Locals. The customer service & food was great. It fairly small in the inside; however, there are additional seats outside & the staff will come out & check on you. They were very attentive when it came to making sure we needed anything. I ordered the Sellers Salad (highly recommend) with extra dressing & cheese. I got a nice amount of chopped chicken on the side. They also have a yummy half & half lemonade. Overall, very nice place. I'll probably return soon to try something else.

The food is amazing, staff goes out of their way to be friendly, and environment is very chill!

Why 5 stars? Because they combined two loves so well. --- --- --- Tex-Mex? I love. Burgers? I love. The Tex-Mex Burger from Local Kitchen + Market? It turns out, I love. Sometimes mash ups can become a horror movie on a plate. But this was the perfect combination of two great things. In addition, I also ordered a strawberry bundt cake, which was also great. And soft. So soft. My experience was of the to-go variety, so I'm sure everything is at least 10% better when it's served hot in the restaurant. But it's hard to go up 10% when I enjoyed it so much, despite slightly sub-optimal hotness.

Local Kitchen + Market is the best kept secret of "downtown" Friendswood. This local gem is the perfect place for a quick lunch, or a specialty pick up of different, unique food items. Walking in, I believe I was greeted by the husband and wife who own the place. I didn't even realize this place was here till I saw a post online through the Bay Area Houston Food Lovers group. I am very glad I decided to come in though because they have all sorts of different hot sauces, olive oils, vinegars, wines, and everything in between. They really seem to live up to their name of "Local" because they offer a lot of small, local food business items that you wouldn't normally see in the big grocery stores. One of my favorites is their garlic chili crisp from a local business in Austin, TX. As far as their food goes, I had their meatball sub for lunch. This sandwich was huge, and could be split between 2 people. It consisted of toasted Italian hoagie bread, homemade meatballs, and TONS of melted, gooey Romano and mozzarella cheeses. Talk about cheese pull because the gooey cheese could be stretched out a foot long when you took a bite of the sandwich. The homemade meatballs were super tender and flavorful, and the tomato sauce tasted like it had been simmering all night long. 10/10 would recommend this meatball sub! Next time I come back, I definitely wanna try the rest of the menu if it's all this good. I really hope this local business stays in Friendswood for years to come, enjoy!

Man what a hidden gem! The folks working there were super helpful and made great suggestions. The wings were HUGE and had a great smoky flavor. The smash burger was unreal - perfectly cooked and seasoned and we had the queso on top which was incredible. The tots were crunchy and well salted. Just everything was so delicious and I can't wait to come back and try more.

Saw this place on Facebook last night and decided to give it a try and took our dinner for to go. The meatball sub with tots is so much food!! I ate the tots and the small half of the sub and I was stuffed. My daughter ordered the pesto pasta with shrimp and she said it was a 10/10. Best part: strawberry bundt cake!! My daughter doesn't care for anything strawberry but she said it's 15/10 definitely recommend. We're going back this weekend for more!!

We decided to give this place a try based on a a friend's recommendation. At first glance I instantly thought twice about going in, been here done that thing before but went in anyway. I should have went with my instincts on this one, more overpriced food. The boutique/market is the main identity of this place which would explain the food prices. We took a look at the menu and my coworker ordered first and when he heard the price I could only think of the big one from Sandford & Son but he kept his composure which meant I had to order as well. So 2 burgers, 2 tots, & 2 drinks later we are a tad over $40. Well this was definitely a one time visit, So we sat down at the family style table and hoped that the burgers were at least worth the money. Hoping was all there would be, the burger was small and there could not of been more than 10 tots in the boat with it. After finishing the burger and tots I will have to say that for the money the food was a total let down. The tots were your run of the meal tots and the double meat smash burger was a single patty burger anywhere else. Well here is what we ordered. Tex-Mex Burger. $12.95 - 5/10 Refried Bean, Cheddar Cheese, Fritos, Salsa and White onions The burger was way smaller than I was expecting for $13, the flavors were overpowered by the onions and Fritos. The beans, salsa , and meat were there but not really present. Overall the burger was not horrible by any means just not anywhere close to the price point they commanded. Tator Tots +$2.75. Just average tots. - They were crunchy at least. Iced Tea $ 3.50 Locals Burger "You Build It". $10.95. - 5/10 Double meat smash burger built how you like it! Pickle | Lettuce | Tomato | White Onions Nothing special, decent burger just not worth the money. Tator Tots +$2.75. Iced Tea $ 3.50 The customer service was good and the place is nice. Lots of specialty items in the market. I love supporting local businesses but I am just not one to pay for overpriced food. If you love the place then do so but JLBs is right down the street and their burger is on a whole different level.

10 thumbs up! If I lived in Friendswood, I'd be here everyday:) This place is fantastic - I'm munching on my mushroom burger and tots while writing - delicious! Locals also has a great wine selection -- I looked through the bottles while waiting and am really impressed with the selection. Haven't taste tested the oils the have for sale, but will!

We were also informed that they stop serving food at 9:30, so pretty much to order soon. Needless to say I was so disappointed and ready to leave. But it being so late, sucked it up. Came here for the sword fish that apparently they no longer serve as their menu had changed. After ordering, I did voice my concerns about the loud music and thankfully they changed it. I was able to enjoy my late night dinner with my husband. We ordered the Kataifi shrimp as an appetizer. They were medium sized served with a spicy tangy sauce. They were very delicious. For my main course I ordered the American red snapper which was also a unique dish as it was served on a corn husk with rice and beans. 3 whole crawfish, a corn and cold salsa verde sauce on the side of the dish. All was delicious except they should have served the salsa verde sauce warm instead of cold. It was still a delicious dish. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak which was also delicious. It was served with a side of green beans, puréed potatoes with a foie gras gravy. They have a descent drink menu. I ordered the Friendswood 75 which was a little too sweet for my liking and my husband ordered the Gin and tonic. They didn't have Sapphire so he opted for the Tanqueray. Overall, our meal was delicious and our server Sandy was nice.

This isn't a shiny, soulless concept bar with Edison bulbs and a marketing team. Let's talk beer first, because they clearly do. The draft list is deep and thoughtful--enough variety to satisfy the hop-chasers, the lager loyalists, and the folks who just want something cold and honest after a long day. Change of plans. There are probably 40+ beer taps in here and a menu with many typical classics that you'd find at a sports bar type of establishment. I went with some beef tacos. I heard the server tell my brother she recommends the al pastor, and in hindsight, I should have taken that rec. My beef tacos were fine, but the al pastor I traded with my brother, really hit the spot. I did enjoy a blueberry wheat beer from a Galveston brewer and saw several other appealing beer options on the menu. If I were to return, I'd probably go for a beer rather than the food, which was fine, but received mixed feedback from our large party.

The ambiance was nice as we walked in, and after being quickly seated next to a window, the atmosphere was nice. They did end up covering the window before we started eating, and the little bulb way above us and candle did not really provide light enough for us to eat (I get it is mood lighting, but I like seeing what I eat). The food was really solid, though. A few times I've been in the past it was all too salty, but this time around it was much better. I got the Farm Bird, and it was very juicy and had a very nice crunch. The Fish and Chips were nice and flaky, while the Pork Chop was extremely juicy and rich. The shrimp in the rigatoni was definitely oversalted, as well as the broccolini greens in the pork chop dish. The appetizers we got (Brussels Sprouts and Spinach Artichoke Dip) were both okay, though I prefer garlic bread to the chip for the dip and the sprouts were a little one note. The whiskey cake itself was very good, though I recommend only one plate for a group of 6 or less because of how rich it is, especially if you get the ice cream addition. Overall a very surprising experience, and while it carries a heavy price tag, it is absolutely a good choice if you're looking for a nicer meal out here.

Chick-N-Run Hot Chicken & Wings is a little hidden gem in Friendswood that I discovered on Facebook…read morein a local foodie group. It is off a main road but pretty easy to miss if you are not looking for it. I just happened to be in the area and checked my bookmarks for something close and was reminded to check this place out. I pulled up to a empty parking lot on a Sunday afternoon. There was one table waiting on their food. Customer service was great. I'm not sure who took my order, but he gave me owner or manager vibes as he sat working on a laptop between customers. The screens above the cash register where the menu is displayed was off so I had to use a paper menu on the counter. I wouldn't say I'm a big Nashville hot chicken guy, but every once in awhile I get a craving for it. The name of the restaurant implies they have wings, but I did not see it on the menu or ask about them. That would usually have been my go to at a chicken spot. The item that did stand out to me was the Korean Chicken. I was told it's a popular item and I could pick my spice level. It already comes with white rice but you can make it a combo with fries and a drink. I went that route but also added fried okra because fried okra is always a must. I see other reviews commenting about store bought products and what not. That doesn't bother me as long as my food taste good. For example, I saw frozen fries but they were cooked perfect and seasoned just right. My only complaint would be the use of bottled drinks instead of a soda fountain. When serving spicy food, ice and refills would come in clutch! Back to the food. My good came out piping hot and it smelled delicious. The portions were huge and I immediately asked for a to go box. Really not the worst I've had in the Houston area but couldn't come back.
