    Buffalo Ranch Chicken Wrap
    Jaime C.

WOW!!! The food here is sooo good! I had the bacon avocado burger and buffalo chicken wrap. Best I have ever had. Burger patty seasoned perfectly and topped with fresh veggies and crispy bacon. Perfection! The wrap was also fresh and delicious with crispy chicken. Definitely coming back to try the rest of their menu! Eyeballing the fish and chips.

JLB Eatery Friendswood is delicious and the employees are really nice. They have a variety of tasty American food options for low prices. I ordered wings, they were spicy with just the right amount of tang for a buffalo sauce. The fries were fried perfectly and had some light seasoning on them. The side salad that came with the meal had fresh veggies that looked like they were straight from the farmer's market. JLB Eatery reminds me of old school casual restaurants from the 90s, but the best version of this type of place. I'm not in Friendswood often but I would definitely stop here again if I was, and I am looking forward to trying other JLB Eatery locations in the future.

    I quit!

Order the double meat at your own risk! Great tasting food, good service, and clean environment.

**Tip Shaming Alert** Though this place felt like a mom and pop operation -- perhaps because of its location in a strip mall, lack of branding on cups and the kitschy laminated menu at the counter -- but there appears to be numerous locations throughout the greater Houston area. The atmosphere and service here also made it feel like a homegrown business. Laminate counter- and tabletops, a variety of Magnolia-esque decor and nine tables fill this clean, small spot. Ordering happens at the register here and the customer service was good. The young lady taking our order was new, and she was assisted by someone whom I assume was the manager and/or owner. We let them know that we were first-timers, and they let us know what was popular (and why). Very nice. Without a doubt, the best thing about the burgers here is the bread. The restaurant makes claim that it is baked fresh daily in-house, and the fluffy consistency and rich flavor confirms that. This might be the best bread that I've had with a burger in quite a while! The burger itself though... While it appeared to be course ground, there was really no juiciness. This place advertises that it uses Black Angus to make the burgers. Either they use an 11 percent fat ratio (or lower), or someone left mine on the grill a little too long. The flavor was good, albeit over-salted. The London-style catfish fillet was superbly prepared. Crisp batter. Very clean and flaky fish. I initially believed that they really should be using cod or pollock, as did another patron that I overheard. But, I was wrong. This is good stuff. Fries here are served hot and crisp. Beverages here come from the self-serve fountain and are of the PepsiCo brand. Overall, a good experience with freshly prepared food. **Tip Shaming Alert** The practice of tip shaming has become more prevalent over the past few years. It essentially involves an option at the point-of-sale to tip or not tip -- while the employee is right there looking at you. First, gratuities have traditionally been offered *after* the meal. Further, gratuities are traditionally intended for servers whose hourly wage is much less than other restaurant employees. I am hardly 'Mr. Pink' (Google "Reservoir Dogs") when it comes to tipping. But it is quite presumptuous to *ask* for a tip.

JLB Eatery is what you want a local restaurant to be. It has phenomenal customer service and the food is even better. I had the chance to eat a burger from here during a work luncheon that won me over instantly. The fresh baked hamburger buns are to die for. They are so soft and delectable. On to the food. JLB Cheese Burger. 9/10 1 Certified Angus Beef patty, mayonnaise, cheese, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, and onions on a fresh baked bun. The burger was great, the veggies were crisp and fresh. The bun was like wow. So good. Crazy Burger. 9/10 2 Certigied Angus Beef patties, 2 Slices Cheese, Mayo, Lettuce, Pickles, Bacon. Tomatoes, Grilled Onions, and Thousand Island Dressing. Ok, the burger was better than the first burger I had but the first one was still great. With the two patties it was quite monstrous. Loved the crispy char on the edges of the burger. Way to big to eat and go back to work comfortably but I did and paid the price. Oh well it was worth it. Go give them a try if you haven't, it's a really great place that will give you awesome food and service.

    Cajun Style Fish n' Chips

The food and service were equally great, and I plan to return and try more menu items. The interior is small, but it is clean and has adequate seating. The service was excellent. The cashier/manager was very welcoming and offered recommendations for food. Additionally, she offered several different types of salad dressing and sauces for the fish. I ordered the cajun-style fish. It was excellent. The fish n' chips I eat are hit or miss, and this is definitely a hit! The batter was crispy and seasoned. The fish was soft and flaky. Paired with the tartar sauce, I was a happy camper. The fries/chips are equally excellent. They were the perfect level of crispy, had good flavor, and were a great complement to the fish. The same can be said for the hush puppy, which I wish I had more of. The slice of bread was fluffy and light, and you can tell they're not lying when they say it is made fresh. Overall, I recommend you try JLB Eatery. The prices are fair, so it's not a huge investment to enjoy the food.

We kept this first visit pretty simple wife got a cheeseburger, plain and dry as she always does with a side order of tater tots. I went with the old-fashioned cheeseburger all the way and added bacon, and my side order was the thin onion rings. Everything came out fantastic and fast. The tater tots were cooked exactly like I like super crispy. I rarely eat tater tots out because not every restaurant cooks them properly. The thin onion rings were fantastic. Had a very nice little flavor to the batter came out hot and crisp. What I like the most about the burgers were the buns. Almost a buttery texture to them and they did not fall apart like you get on some burgers. The wife got a strawberry shake to go, and it was insanely rich. It was a meal in itself. We will definitely be back again soon to go a little deeper into the menu. I hear that their chili dog is fantastic. That's what I'm gonna try next week. This isn't a shiny, soulless concept bar with Edison bulbs and a marketing team. It's a neighborhood joint that understands the fundamentals: cold beer, poured correctly; food that knows what it is; prices that don't insult you; and a staff that actually gives a damn. Let's talk beer first, because they clearly do. The draft list is deep and thoughtful--enough variety to satisfy the hop-chasers, the lager loyalists, and the folks who just want something cold and honest after a long day. And yes, they know how to pour a proper Guinness. Settle time. Correct head. No shortcuts. That alone tells you everything you need to know about their priorities. The menu doesn't try to reinvent the wheel or lecture you about provenance. It's bar food done with intention. The street tacos are the kind you order expecting "good enough" and end up wishing you'd ordered two more. Balanced, flavorful, no unnecessary nonsense. The fried cod special? Exactly what it should be--hot, crisp, flaky inside, and served without ego. Comfort food that respects the eater. Prices are fair. Refreshingly fair. The kind of prices that make you relax, order another round, maybe stay longer than planned. That's not an accident--it's hospitality. It is off a main road but pretty easy to miss if you are not looking for it. I just happened to be in the area and checked my bookmarks for something close and was reminded to check this place out. I pulled up to a empty parking lot on a Sunday afternoon. There was one table waiting on their food. Customer service was great. I'm not sure who took my order, but he gave me owner or manager vibes as he sat working on a laptop between customers. The screens above the cash register where the menu is displayed was off so I had to use a paper menu on the counter. I wouldn't say I'm a big Nashville hot chicken guy, but every once in awhile I get a craving for it. The name of the restaurant implies they have wings, but I did not see it on the menu or ask about them. That would usually have been my go to at a chicken spot. The item that did stand out to me was the Korean Chicken. I was told it's a popular item and I could pick my spice level. It already comes with white rice but you can make it a combo with fries and a drink. I went that route but also added fried okra because fried okra is always a must. I see other reviews commenting about store bought products and what not. That doesn't bother me as long as my food taste good. For example, I saw frozen fries but they were cooked perfect and seasoned just right. My only complaint would be the use of bottled drinks instead of a soda fountain. When serving spicy food, ice and refills would come in clutch! Back to the food. My good came out piping hot and it smelled delicious. The portions were huge and I immediately asked for a to go box. It was easily two full sized meals. The Korean chicken had a very tasty glaze on them and packed some heat. It had me sweating but was very enjoyable. I only wish that it was a little more crispy as Korean Fried Chicken usually is. Fries were from a bad but good. The okra was so delicious and seasoned just right with a touch of salt. Not a healthy meal by any means but very good. Overall, I'm glad I finally got a chance to check this place out. It is out of the way, but I would most definitely come back if in the area.

Very vibrant and unique, with a neat outdoor area and amazing TV placement for those who care about that. Even their to-go counter is well decorated and themed! I can't comment on the atmosphere since both times I've been it's been relatively quiet, but I'd imagine on a busy night this place could have a fun atmosphere. Joshua was our server and he did a good job, and our food came out relatively fast, so no issues with service. As for the food however, I can't be as positive. Last time I had the Mahi Mahi and thought it was fine enough. This time I decided to try one of their burgers. I'll be honest, I like my burgers pretty plain, which is its own can of worms. Point being, the bun tasted very odd and almost stale, and the patty was very mushy and lacked flavor. The signature sauce was also unappetizing, with it being some sort of distant cousin of mustard or potentially a very odd Thousand Islands? I'm not sure if additional toppings would save this considering the unappealing foundation. It just left me very unfulfilled. The milkshakes on the other hand? Fantastic. Definitely the highlight. It was just as good as the last time I went. I haven't been to many other places that matches the quality of here. Could not recommend more. I've yet to try the chicken or other fish so I can't comment on their quality. All I'm gonna say is, burger lovers maybe approach with a grain of salt. 3/5
