I went to Whataburger for dinner on a Sunday night. I was in the drive thru for an HOUR! And there were only about 6 cars ahead of us; it was absolutely ridiculous. We went on a Saturday afternoon and only waited about 40 minutes. I'm not sure what the hype is about. I found the burger and fries to be pretty average. My burger was very salty, and while larger than most, nothing made me say "wow". Fries were standard fast food. I did try the Dr. Pepper milkshake and it was refreshing. Yesterday 4/21/2023 was our first time visiting at the Kennesaw Whataburger location and what an awful experience. Very disappointed in the burger meal we purchased. The patty was over cooked and grayish in color. The end pieces of tomato were very pale along with the cut up pale looking iceberg lettuce. The burgers were missing the cheese and had way too much mustard. Also, too much bun for the skinny burger. Should have taken a picture of the sorry looking burgers. The fries were just okay....better fries at other fast food places. The medium Styrofoam drink containers were HUGE and the diet Dr Pepper tasted awful. This Whataburger in Kennesaw off of Chastain is probably one of the worst fast food establishments I have been to in a while. Me and my fiancée go last night at about 4-5 in the morning after a late night out. We show up and there are only three vehicles in the line so we thought it wouldn't take that long. Well fast forward 30 minutes we haven't even paid yet. Fast forward another 10 minutes we are waiting to get our food. The cashier at the window was so blind to what was going on our food was sitting there by the window for more then 8-10 minutes before the cook had to come over and give us our food. So lo and behold waiting for three vehicles to get their food and for us to receive ours it took well over 40 minutes. If you show up to this location just be ready and strapped in with a tent and some snacks for the long night of camping your going to have to do if there are more then 6 cars. read more

I ordered ahead on the app so I wouldn't have to wait. I had heard so much about Whataburger and couldn't wait to try it. Whataburger? More like Whatadisappointment! I sat in the lot and waited over 25 minutes to get my order, which wasn't even right. My iced tea, which tasted like soap (at least they wash out the tea carafe?), did come out immediately, but it was gone by the time the rest of my food arrived. No tomato, and I ordered grilled onions instead of diced onions but got zero onions. I would have gone inside to have it fixed, but I really didn't want to wait 25 more minutes. So, I came in last night to order food for my family. I waited 40 minutes for this order to see 6 people come and go after me with orders that were just as big. I asked what was taking so long and they said it took that long to cook the chicken strips. I was then told my food would be right out. I get home I did not half of the food that was ordered. So, after waiting 40 minutes for food it was still not right along with the fact that I did not get to eat due to them not getting the order correct. I would not recommend this store to anyone. I'm really disappointed in this Whataburger. I'm from Texas and grew up loving Whataburger so I was excited that Atlanta was finally getting one but, strangely, it's just not the same. You would think that all restaurants in a fast food chain would taste the same but maybe there's just a difference in Whataburger in Texas and Whataburger out of Texas. I've been to this Whataburger a few times hoping the other times were bad luck and wanting to give it another shot but the food is consistently tasteless and cold. Which makes me sad. From start to finish everything was perfect. Customer service was so great that I offered to tip $50! The tip was declined by the staff member. Locations been open several months now. Inside dining for several weeks. Get it they are busy, parking lot and drive thru looks like Chick Fil A. Problem is this, showed up 9pm on a Friday night to dine in. About 20 people inside. Doors locked. We were told to hang outside for 45 minutes as the kitchen was at capacity. Finally got in after 20 minutes. Placed order at counter because the app would not let us place counter pickup. Food took another 20 plus minutes to get to the table. Food as always was excellent but the shine gets knocked off with their boss hog attitude of management. read more

Service was quite slow for fast food. Peak time at lunch and only one cashier taking orders? It was about a 10 minute wait to make it to the cashier and then another 10 to get my order delivered to my table. The burger was very big and very delicious however the fries were absolutely the worst of any fast food chain I have ever been to. They were pretty much shoestring and got cold very quickly. I like a good burger but have to have good fries to go with it so I don't think that I would be back for that reason. Whatafailure. I've never been impressed with Whataburger. We had them when I lived in Florida, and basically, every time I went, they were known for mediocre food, poor service, and getting orders wrong. I didn't want to go but my daughter kept wanting to go so I dealt with it. Not a thing has changed. My order was wrong (put mustard on my burger when I specifically asked for no mustard). Ate it anyway since there was no way I was going to try to get it fixed through that line. The service is completely inefficient. The line was just out to the street and it still took nearly an hour to get served. If the idiots who built this place had anything functional whatsoever inside their heads, they wouldn't have put the box one spot in line from the window. So, instead of being able to prep 4-6 orders ahead, they are only able to prep one order ahead. Furthermore, these clowns still haven't opened up the dining room, so everyone is forced into the line. You would think a high volume fast food restaurant would try to learn from their competitors. Chick-Fil-A, a well-run restaurant chain, generally sees volume like this on a normal day, and are set up to handle it. They have employees out in the line with ordering tablets letting people order ahead, and I've almost never had issues with the order being wrong. The sad thing, is that Whataburger isn't even the best regional burger chain on that block. That would go to Cook Out, which is by no means perfect but the food is better and they actually know how to deal with it when it gets busy. When they provide poor service, and the food isn't all that good to begin with, once they get past the honeymoon period where everyone wants to go there because it's new, they will not do well. read more

I've been twice to the Kennesaw location, both days I waited an hour or less. The food tasted great, everything I ordered was in the bag, the employees were polite and moved quickly. So far, very happy with this location, especially for only being open a week. Apparently it's drive-thru only for a few weeks then they'll open up the dining room as well. I haven't heard when people will be able to use ordering via their app yet or when a third party delivery will be accessible either, but let's be patient, these people are still learning their jobs and how to make food consistently. read more

Even with all those employees, it still took 20 minutes to come out. they were a group of five guys next to me one guy never got his food. hamburger came out looking pretty big. Turns out only the bun was big The burger was actually thin. I loved the Dr. Pepper milkshake and will definitely get that again.
