When you need a chicken biscuit but it's Sunday.
    Jeremy R.

I needed a chicken biscuit but it was Sunday so no Chik Fil A. I passed a Whataburger and saw that there were a few minutes left for breakfast and it was on the menu. After waiting 5-7 minutes to place my order, I had to wait another 10 minutes for my order to appear. The biscuit was warm and soft, the chicken was a decent filet in crispy batter. The only issue was the sugary sauce which ruined the whole experience. Never had a gooey chicken biscuit before and hope never to again.

I'm not sure why the low stars but this location is solid. Clean, friendly staff and placed in a great location. The food was good especially if you just want to grab a quick bite.

Solid Whataburger experience! Food was fast, hot, and cooked to order -- but the real win was the friendly staff. From the cashier who double-checked my order to the sweet woman who brought my tray (and offered extras like napkins & ketchup), they made the visit feel above average. Docking one star only because the place could use a deep clean. Still, a Jr. Whataburger, hot fries, and a chocolate shake hit the spot for my walk back to the hotel.

First time in Whataburger and a delightful fast burger restaurant. My Burger melt was warm and tasty with cheese and onions. Service was fast and friendly. The ambiance of the restaurant reminded me of the old Royal Castle from years ago. If your in San Antonio Tx. Check out Whataburger.

Fun stop in downtown San Antonio at a must eat place! The birthplace of Whataburger, we went to see what the hype was all about. Turns out, fast food was terrific and cooked drag to order. The restaurant was bright and cheerful and the staff were professional, polite, and patient as we navigated the menu. Definitely worth the side quest!

0/10 worst Whataburger location by far! they got my whole order extremely incorrect FOR THE SECOND TIME IN A WEEK! after i repeated the order 4x. Do not waste ur money at this location WHERE IS MY OTHER BUN!

I arrived late due to a delay, but I went in around 10:15 PM and enjoyed my Bacon Avocado Burger, Fries, and Diet Dr. Pepper.

We came in late. Around 11:30pm. There was nobody taking orders. Then when the guy came out he had been obviously making food in the back and going back and forth without washing his hands. The lobby was gross. Garbage all over the place and bins overflowing. Tables dirty with spilled food and drink. The place was disgusting. We waited forever for our food. I love most Whataburgers but this location was awful.

Nope Sorry! (Disclaimer... I'm a huge In-N-Out fan) TX friends wouldn't stop talking about this place and how it's the best burger spot in U.S. sorry but this isn't in the discussion. Just look at my pics... these were burgers served at the restaurant... they are sloppy and completely smushed. Couldn't imagine how they would have looked if I picked this up from a drive-thru. The taste was ok (Burger King is better and Burger King sucks). Really really disappointed. The 2 stars were for cleanliness and service. Will not return... I doubt whataburger is going to miss one customer... they have a loyal following from their local Texans.

There's been debate that whataburger is better than in n out. Come at me with pitch forks and fire but I think this burger chain is more comparable to mcdonalds. Looked online and the census was to try a patty melt. The cashier was a bit impatient with it being our first time. However, this is one of the only food spots open late night if your plane arrives late. They also packaged everything in one paper bag piled high rather than spread out for convenience of carrying Onion rings- crunchy rather than crisp. The onion inside is sweet. Fries- more like mcdonalde and dryer rather than crispy. Not too bad on saltiness. Patty melt bacon avocado- overly salty. I was not a fan of this but I also prefer fresher flavors. Chicken little (nuggets) it's moist and real chicken but seasoned like nuggets. Pieces are on the smaller side. Apple pie- pretty good, solid crust. Less cinnamony than mcdonalds. Spicy ketchup- indeed ketchup with a kick. Its self serve at the counter so u can get it yourself. Jalapeño ranch- also legitimately has a kick Sweet tea- verrryy sweet. Probably southern normal level though. Overall, I found the food too salty for my taste and can't compare to in n out at all in terms of freshness. I don't feel the need to come back again, but appreciate the late hours

I waited at the counter for at least 1 minute while the cashier who did not acknowledge me acted busy . I just left because someone just can't right their rudeness and make you still want to eat. But the restaurant is very clean and that's at least one good thing

Drinks were AMAZING! Bartender Rob made the best Negroni I've ever had. I asked him to use whatever gin he thought best--result was an artistic smooooooth full-bodied drink. Told him when I was done I'd lick the glass if it wasn't considered so uncouth for a 'mature' lady like myself to do so Hubby's Buffalo Trace bourbon old fashioned was also outstanding. Rob was the bartender last night who did such a great job, and his work was even better tonight. We highly recommend The EsquireTavern for excellent cocktails. We love the long wood bar and high copper ceiling upstairs, but love the intimate speakeasy atmosphere downstairs even more. We'll definitely be back every time we're in San Antonio! First review, Friday night: Drinks were great (Manhattan and Bourbon Old Fashioned). REAL drinks, no complaints at all about those. And the bartenders were very friendly and helpful. Those aspects of the Esquire get 5+ stars from us. But the appetizers were not good, close to inedible. It was about 8:30pm or so, so maybe they were getting ready to close out the kitchen but the chalupitas with chicken tasted like rubber, and no flavor at all. The seafood platter had something in it that was breading with shell inside, but no meat of any kind. We couldn't figure out what it was supposed to be. The shrimp was good and the fish was good but those other things... We'll always love the drinks, the long wooden bar, and the ambiance at the Esquire Tavern, but we'll eat somewhere else and come here for before or after dinner drinks. (See update above to this review for when we returned the next night for after dinner drinks.)

From the moment I walked in, I could tell this place was special. The atmosphere is beautiful, upscale, and inviting. The architecture and design throughout the restaurant are absolutely stunning. Even the restrooms were impressive and reflected the same attention to detail found throughout the entire establishment. The food was outstanding. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. This isn't your typical restaurant experience--the menu is creative, unique, and offers something different. You can tell a lot of thought goes into both the preparation and presentation of every plate. What really made the experience unforgettable, though, was the customer service. My waitress, Kreizon, was absolutely amazing. She was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely made me feel welcome throughout my visit. Great service can make a good meal even better, and she definitely elevated the entire experience. The outdoor dining area is also beautiful and creates a relaxing atmosphere that's perfect for enjoying a meal and taking in the surroundings. If you're looking for a restaurant that offers exceptional food, incredible ambiance, unique architecture, and top-notch customer service, Domingo is a must-visit. This is more than just dinner--it's an experience. Highly recommended, and I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in San Antonio.

Electronic dance music pulsed quietly in the background. The toilets were all individual unisex stalls that were classy, mine had run out of hand towels. Also, the entire restaurant is very dimly lit. I had to use the flashlight on my phone to read the menu, but I have poor eyesight so there's that, but it might explain the quality of the photos I took. The Paloma drink was amazing. It had a great spicy zing in the back of the throat after every sip. Queso was... kinda plain. It might have been better with the add chorizo option. It was very thick. Shrimp cocktail was big, but we started fighting over the shrimp pieces. There was plenty of onion and tomato left over after the batttle. Pollo Asado was a great flavor and the chicken was juicy. Grilled squash that was on the side was good. Chicken enchiladas were good and had freshly sliced jalapeños, which is always a welcome detail. I wasn't able to taste the quesadilla but my daoughter said it was "really good". Fried Chicken sandwich had a great flavor and the bacon was actually pork belly if I'm not mistaken. Sadly there was more batter than chicken. The seasoned fries were delicious and crispy.

We had a seat at a nice little outdoor table and checked out the menu. Once we got the attention of the wait staff we ordered a flight of multi-flavored Frozen Margaritas and a Botanas Platter consisting of Pollo Poppers, Mini Beef Quesadillas and stuffed Jalapenos along with guacamole and sour cream. The Botanas Platter was light but a bit unexciting/bland so we chose not to have an entrée and continued to sip our Frozen Margaritas on this warm day. All the flavors were delicious and refreshing. I do understand that they were a bit busy, but trying to get the attention of our server was a definite chore and the wait staff did not seem to be terribly interested in assisting anyone or getting the orders out to their customers in a timely manner. This was also the first Mexican Restaurant that did not offer complimentary chips and salsa/queso to their customers. We did find that rather odd. Overall Casa Rio was ok, but the lack of service and disinterest in their customers really put us off but we really did enjoy the flight of frozen Margaritas.
