I will preface this by saying this was an unusually bad night at this place - but it was bad. There were 8 of us and we ordered together on one ticket on a Wednesday night - it wasn't very busy. I tried to order the chicken bites (advertised as 'new' on the menu) for an appetizer but was told they were actually chicken tenders. I asked if they looked like the picture in the menu and she said 'no'. I was glad she was honest. Either take them off the menu or get them correct. I decided to get some onion rings - but they were out of onion rings? Really? So we ordered fried pickles and fried mushrooms. Then everyone ordered their meals. We were waiting quite awhile and nobody called us for our appetizers. Finally they called my name and I went up and they pointed to a big round tray with 5 plates and said 'there you go'. I told them we had 8 sandwiches and they seemed confused and didn't know what I was referring to. Eventually one of the cooks said 'yes, we have your other three here'. I asked about the pickles and mushrooms and they said 'you had pickles and mushrooms?' I told them we did and they said they would make them and I told them that kind of defeated the term appetizer. Then one of the cooks pointed to a plate of mushrooms that had been sitting on the counter for some time and said 'those are your mushrooms'. I told them that nobody ever called my name and if they were mine why wasn't there any pickles? I looked at the tray of burgers and asked if they could tell me which was which so we didn't have to pull each one apart to figure them out - so the cook/server pulled each one apart. We took the food that was ready to the table and shortly afterwards the rest of the sandwiches arrived - except they made a sliced turkey sandwich instead of a turkey burger for one of the orders. They eventually brought the Turkey burger out. We were about halfway finished with our meal when they finally brought the fried pickles to us. The burgers themselves were good, which was helpful - we had 6 different burgers. The fries were fairly cold by the time we actually got them. The mushrooms were okay - we'd never had them here before and didn't expect ginormous mushrooms (they were REALLY big - unlike any I'd ever had elsewhere - really too big). The pickles were underdone compared to our previous visits. If this was my first visit to this place I would absolutely not return. Given I've been here before and it was better, I'll probably give them another chance - but honestly, this visit was a complete disaster all the way around - not sure what was going on but it was bad, especially considering I spent $140. read more

Tried the Longhorn Cafe for the first time. I ordered a guacamole burger and fried pickles. My husband ordered the Angus Burger. First, you're getting a real burger. No preformed store bought mystery meat. We liked that. Their standard burger bun is so soft and yummy. They also warm the bun! Yum! The guacamole burger has just enough guacamole for good flavor but not so much that I made a mess. And my bun was not soggy. Super bonus. Steer clear of the fried pickles. They are nothing to write home about. But I peeked at other plates in the room and saw many onions rings. I'd try that next time. Ordering was fast and easy. Your name is called over a speaker. Didn't realize how popular this place is, WOW! We walked in and basically every seat was taken and it was FULL with families. Which is awesome. The food was pretty solid. They have all types of different burgers with all types of fixings on em. We went pretty basic. Shared a normal angus cheeseburger with fries and a Mexican Coke. Also paired with some buffalo chicken strips. So I'm a big buffalo wing/boneless wing gal. It's actually my fav food. The sauce wasn't spicy enough for me it was like a mild medium and pretty salty, though the meat was extremely tender and ghat made up for the sauce. We have came here a few times before and never had an issue. Yesterday I ordered a cheeseburger w no Mayo and of course it had mayo in it. We had already waited 30 min for our food so I didn't want to have them make me a new one so whatever I tried to eat it. Good place for American style food. Big building with high ceilings but has a rustic look to it. Prices are fair and the service time is good. Although I will say the burgers are a tad overpriced, at least for the quality. You can tell they are frozen patties. And the chili isn't the best. This used to be a good place to go for a burger and a beer. However, the last couple of attempts to eat here have been terrible. The first time we attempted to eat here we were told that our order would take at least an hour, so we turned around and left. We gave it another try but sadly it was a even worse experience. We placed our order for two burger combos and waited and waited. After nearly an hour, I attempted to ask one of the employees at the counter for an estimate on when our meal would be ready. He completely ignored me, turned around and went back to joking around with the other employees. Being fed up, I requested a refund. No apology or offer to get our order out. The fried pickles were actually pretty good but our entrees: bacon burger, hamburger steak, and chicken tenders were suuuuuper bland... I mean, zero flavor. What's worse... They have a dish called the Horn which they claim is a hamburger steak stuffed with jalapeños and cheese, so I gave it a try. What they claim and what you get is a major misrepresentation, the so called hamburger steak is two frozen hamburger patties stacked on top of each other with a slice of cheese and two jalapeños in between both patties then is overcooked eliminating any flavor of the meat. The mac & cheese and mashed potatoes that I ordered as the sides were a major swing and a miss. The mac and cheese reminds me of the crap KFC sold and the mashed potatoes and gravy has potential but were cold. Suffice to say, I would of been better off getting a kangaroo burger from McDonald's. My wife and I frequent Longhorn. It's been one thing after another though. We can't seem to get an order right the past 3 times we've been here. We got here early today before the dinner rush. No onion is my request, and no mustard for my wife. We get our food and my wife has mustard but no mayo. My burger is dry and had to ask for mustard and mayo and they give you packets. Look in my burger and onions all in it. Instead of hiding behind the wall when someone walks up to the counter, maybe you should be doing quality checks before calling someone to pick up their order. read more

For the price, it isn't bad...not a lot of super healthy choices, but if you are looking for that big greasy burger or chicken fried steak or chicken....this is a good place to visit. Some of the items that are our favorite include the fried pickles...you get a lot for the price and of course they come with Ranch. They are the dill pickle chips which are way better than the spears!! They have good juicy burgers with fries or tots (choose the tots!), chicken fried chicken dinner was pretty tasty.
