food - i hadnt ate at whataburger in at least a couple years, and got a craving for what was once my go-to late night college food staple, the honey butter chicken biscuit, served from 11pm-11am and colloquially known as the HuBCHuB. the chicken biscuit is plenty filling as a standalone item, so that is how i ordered it, though you can order with a side of hashbrowns and a drink. the chicken biscuit has very rarely been dry when i've ordered previously, if there is not much honey butter added, though the one tonight had an overflow and i've got no complaints. and while i did break the known rule of neva neva neva forgetting a bev, i got a cup of water at my mom house in a trusty okc thunder cup. service - i was glad to find the indoor walkup counter still open when i arrived around 1am, and very much satisfied with the quality and expedience of the customer service, especially considering the time of night and possibility of grumpiness or lethargy from working such a late hour. the cashier was ms selena, who was kind and accommodating of my request to give a partial payment in change. ambiance - the ambiance was the least impressive aspect of my visit, mostly because of the lack of other customers. while i am commonly content being and dining alone, the general rowdiness of the late night crowd is one of my favorite recollections of eating at whataburger while attending college. however, to conclude on a positive tilt, i did see a mural i like by the entrance to the restaurant of what appears to me the founder of the franchise at its original location. read more

I hadn't eaten at a Whataburger for over 20 years. I was working a week at a work location a short distance away. First time I went in ordered a black coffee and a hot apple pie, they said would would take a while for the pie so I took the coffee, I had walked across the street to go back to work, took my fist sip and it wasn't hot at all, lukewarm at best. A day later I went to get a burger and fries, it was ok but not as good as it use to be. Yesterday I went back, my last day of work, and waited 12 minutes, employees who came out totally ignored me the whole time. Ordered the Whataburger & the sweet bacon bbq burger w/ 2 cheeses. Hubby loved the bbq burger. My Whataburger was okay. A little too much bun. They serve you condiments/naps/ etc w/ the order @ ur table. The staff at 1:00 was impeccable. We hit a low, thank goodness, as it got really busy right after. [Our Order] BBQ Crispy Chicken Sandwich: the chicken had too much breading on it and the bbq sauce just overwhelmed it. The bread tasted like it was store bought. Being new to Tulsa I am very anxious to try out the local cuisine. This place was recommended and since I really like burgers, it seemed like a perfect choice for me. It's sad that I have to write this review because I really wanted to like this place. Unfortunately, I can't. One bite of this burger and all I could think of was, "WhataBummer." The meat was so salty that all other flavor was lost. The only reason I could think of to use that much salt is to hide the poor quality of the meat. I would bet that Whataburger uses beef that is at least 30% fat and probably higher. There are plenty of burger joints in Tulsa so I'm sure to fine some really good ones. PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE REVIEW After waiting an ungodly amount of time in the drive thru line, my fiance received raw chicken. Sadly, that's not even the worst part. When we called to let them know that the chicken was raw, the lady(Katherine J) didn't say anything and hung up on us. We have gone to this whataburger since the store opened. During the last few times we went there a lot of the food was missing from the bag. Last time my husband went in and talked to the manager and got a correction on the food and and an apology. Today I went at 11:10 a.m. and waited in line for over 30 minutes. As a lover of the breakfast taquito from WB, I was quite happy when construction began right on my route to work! Whataburger tends to be an am destination for me - either 2am or 8am. Though in my old age more on the 8am side these days. A Whataburger jr with bacon, cheese, and jalepeños with a side of onion rings does hit the spot after my rare nights out these days. Normally however it's a bacon egg & cheese taquito from the drive thru on the way to work. This location has a lady named Lanisha at the window. She has the nicest voice and is super friendly - she really makes you feel like a valued customer. My order is always correct and I never fail to drive off in a better mood than when I arrived. I decided to try it out because there were only 3 cars when I pulled up. Well, first off there's nothing fast" about this fast food joint. I waited in line for 10 minutes before I got up to the window and then was handed the wrong food! Luckily she caught herself and asked for the bag back.. but I had to wait a little bit longer for my order to be bagged. If there was less then one star I'm not sure this location would deserve that. To go order took 30 minutes. I wasn't the only customer who complained. Ordering was great fast. Repeated order perfect, and was courteous. When I watched the team lead, who was off shift, chat with the shift manager (I always capitalize titles, but they don't deserve it) and show pictured on their phone while the manager was casually assembling orders, and watch's three previous customers leave disgruntled and one post customer get their food before mine that required no special deviations...... I didn't kindly accept the thank you when I got my food that was OK fresh. I said 30 minute wait for a to go order ( not rush hour) was unacceptable and that maybe the problem was the two employees chit chatting and exchanging pictures. The truly awesome counter employee looked scared and I asked-is she your supervisor? I'll abbreviate the rest of the story and say Counter employee should be the store manager. Team Leader and shift manager should be in the corner begging for a job with the attitude I revived from an off duty employee and her manager. I absolutely love Whataburger and living in the East Coast coming to Tulsa is a treat because of Whataburger. I will drive to OKC before I ever go to this place again next time I'm in Tulsa.
