I'd never recommend going to this location. This is my first time going to a Whataburger that is not in Texas and I was very disappointed. I got fries and a chocolate malt shake. The fries were cold and my malt had way too much syrup/chocolate flavoring in it. It tasted terrible, so I went inside and bought a regular chocolate milkshake instead. I tasted the regular chocolate milkshake and it was also messed up. A milkshake isn't hard to make and they somehow were able to mess up both of my orders! read more

Had to wait for almost an hour to get my food through the drive through line when they weren't even that busy. Before I even got my food they forgot what I had ordered and then when I told them they messed up my order. Didn't even try to get it fixed because I know they would have messed it up again. Me and my boyfriend went to this location about 9 and when we pulled in I was having trouble deciding what I wanted so it took about 5 minute to decide (no cars around so I took my time). The cashier was very polite about it they happened to just run out of large drinks but she gave us a large fry with our meal to make up for it. We pull around to get our food she told my boyfriend that they were grilling the chicken so it would take just a minute. To pull up that she would bring it out asap and apologized for the inconvenience. She brought our food not even a few minutes later and she had given us 2 cookies and apologize again. I'll get right to the point: Don't come here unless your idea of a relaxing meal is listening to blaring, unrelenting, and over-the-top evangelical atmospheric music. I've been to this Whataburger twice and both times have had to wait FOREVER for my food in the drive thru. Today, I got a burger and fries and had to wait 30 MINUTES in the drive thru after I ordered. There was not an insane amount of people ahead of me- just 5 cars- a normal amount. When I got to the window and got my food, the lady didn't apologize or anything. I asked if they were understaffed or something, since the wait was so long, and she snapped at me and said "No! We have plenty of staff! It's just busy!" Uhhh... no, it wasn't busy. And still no apology for the long wait. They could take notes from Chick-Fil-A, even when the car lines literally wrap around the building, you get your food SO quick AND the service is great. Terrible service. I had never been to a Whataburger until tonight and I read online that they are able to make some meals vegetarian, so I was eager to try it out! Once I got here at 10 PM, I realized the hashbrowns needed to sub out the meat are usually not available until 11, but Donna helped me out and made sure I was able to build a sandwich I could eat! Very appreciative to have another option in a town with few vegetarian fast food restaurants. Will definitely be coming back! read more

Every single time I come I have to wait in the drive thru line at least 20 minutes waiting to get my food. They always give me cold fries, even if I come into the store and order. Also the last time I came in the store and picked up an order for someone, the manager on duty argued me down when he got my order wrong instead of immediately fixing it. We discovered Whataburger in TX a year ago and was happy to see one in Tuscaloosa. The food is always good but the service and odds of getting your order correct is impossible. We went shortly after Grand Opening and the order was wrong but we assumed being new they would get better with time. The second and third times were no better with just simply mistakes but still the order was wrong. Last night we stopped by and the whole order was wrong so I took it in for correction. We ordered thru the drive thru at 5:26 and did not pull out with corrected order until 5:47. Totally unacceptable and we will never go back to this location! read more

This place is literally a JOKE. Took an hour to get hash browns.... legitimately an hour. I reminded multiple employees about my order, which did nothing (surprise) eventually just asked for a refund on the hash browns thinking it would be easier but nothing happened. Moral of the story this place is in the front running to win the Worst Whataburger In America trophy. I love Whataburger but this place is so mismanaged and the employees are beyond rude and unhelpful. With this thrilling hour I spent in Whataburger I watched employees drop food on the ground in the kitchen, not take orders, and serve wrong orders constantly. I have never left a review of a place before on yelp let alone a bad one but this has been the worst experience at a restaurant ever. I am literally making a yelp account to solely leave this review. To add insult to injury the order before me got an egg and cheese biscuit but wait these employees were smart enough to put it on a hamburger bun. Do yourself a favor drive 8 minutes to the Whataburger on Skyland or 52 minutes to the Whataburger in Birmingham BOTH WOULD HAVE BEEN FASTER. This is hands down the worst managed restaurant in my whole life. Seriously. This is the closest whataburger to me and I love whataburger so i go there often. I usually go through the drive thru but I don't think i have ever been to this one where it doesn't take at least 15 min to get through the drive thru when it's EMPTY. Since this is the closest one to me, I go anyways. On feb 17 I went to this whataburger. Not one person was in the drive thru and i saw one couple in there sitting down so I decide to go through the drive thru because it didn't seem like it would take long. I get there and they automatically say they don't have fries. I have NEVER in my life heard of a fast food place running out of fries. A side that comes with literally every single meal. So I decide to get onion rings which they charged me extra for even though I didn't have much of a choice in the matter. The lady also makes me repeat myself 4 different times about what side and drink i wanted. She got it wrong twice btw. I get to the window and the lady tells me they are out of the drink i ordered. At this point I'm really getting pissed off. And THEN, they tell me to pull around because it's apparently it takes a long time to cook 3 chicken fingers and 3 onion rings. So I do and the person behind me does the same. They come out 25 minutes later with my now cold food in a big bag like that is going to make up for it. No. What I wanted was fries and my normal drink. And maybe not to spend half an hour in a drive thru with an incompetent staff. I will absolutely never go to this whataburger again. There's places with better service and the same quality food. UPDATE: I took a second look at my food and they gave me hashbrowns instead of onion rings.
