The kaiser roll held everything in place and the hot sauce was the perfect supplement to the breakfast burger. The home fries were cooked well done, which is exactly how I like them. Super underrated place. Of course the food is great. I especially love the sandwiches for lunch, but all the breakfast meals are good as well. Usually it is pretty crowded, which gets a little chaotic, but I do not care. The people who work there are incredible people and there is a great sense of community. Definitely recommend to everyone. read more

What an amazing discovery! I was dropping off my car to be serviced and was so happy to find this cute little cafe, complete with a full counter and stools! Jackie and Lydia are amazing. They greeted everyone BY NAME as they came through the door. As a server myself, knowing a place is full of regulars is a great sign of what's to come! And they didn't disappoint. From the Irish soda bread to my omelette, the food was delish, and the service top notch. Jackie and Lydia clearly know what gracious hospitality is all about. And the prices can't be beat! The place serves up good food, friendly service, an "everyone knows your name" vibe and modest prices, all of which make this humble, quirky restaurant a pleasant and enjoyable experience. We had been discussing where to go for breakfast on a weekend and a friend recommended What's Cookin. Glad he did. Wife had a nice cheese omelet with crunchy potatoes, tasty sausage patties and lightly toasted bread. I had French toast with Taylor ham. All delicious. If their was an option for 0 stars I would rate it a 0/5. The menu online and in store have no descriptions of what the meal consist of. We ordered our food and waited for what seemed like forever. Our order was not as described and when we came in to exchange the food they insisted on us paying again with no refund. The person taking orders was rude and unpleasurable. They left us without utensils and made us wait another 20 minutes for our unrefunded food. I've never been to a place with such terrible costumer service. The food was TERRIBLE. Their was no taste, so bland. They couldn't even make oatmeal tasteful, that's a hard thing to do. Never ever stepping foot in that place again. read more

Tried this place over the wknd bc I found on yelp. Not impressed to be honest. Nice staff, place was pretty busy which is why I guess the food took a while to come out. Prices are very decent. We had breakfast and I would much rather go to my usuals-Tenafly diner and TriValley Restaurant. Trivalley in Dumont offers very similar prices for a better setting/ambience, faster service and larger portions. Bacon-super thin and limited quantity Pancakes looked decent but no taste :( French toast-pretty miserable-thinning looking slice toast Ive ever seen. Hate to write this but I have to be honest. Very nice staff but I will not be returning for pancakes, french toast nor bacon. Perhaps lunch someday because I live so close. read more

Came here because I was curious about this place. Honestly wasn't disappointed and pleasantly surprised at the food and the nice service. I came during an offtime in the day so the place wasn't busy, so the food came quick. Seeing the other reviews I also ordered a western omelot with homefries and toast, and it was pretty. Not too oily, was pretty decently sized and not badly priced. I could say the homefries could've had a bit more bite to it but thats just my personal opinion. The one thing I do enjoy is seeing how many of the customers know each other and the workers here, thats always a plus because it shows how friendly and open this establishment is to the public. I'm a local and I frequent here. I love this place, it is my go to breakfast place. They serve really good omelettes, I usually get the western omelette with home fries/toast. It's good, not oily or greasy. It's perfect. I also get the French toast. Overall I would describe their food as "home cooked" breakfast. Service is great, the people are nice. There is a huge TV so you can watch while you eat. Prices are not bad at all, really affordable, and that's a big plus. Cool little mom and pop style diner/luncheonette. Service was friendly and quick (we sat at the counter as all the booths were taken). Definitely a local draw as most of the people there, the day we went, seemed like college kids home for winter break. We both ordered breakfast with coffee. Eggs were cooked perfectly but my pork roll was a little underdone for my taste (I like it well done with a crisp to it {shame on me for not asking for it like that; only have myself to blame}), home fries were tasty and they had rye toast YAY. Coffee was decent too. It wasn't great but it is good and for a quick morning bite to eat (when I don't feel like cooking) this place will become a go to. Great food, great prices, casual atmosphere. I've eaten breakfast, lunch, and dinner there with my family and never had a bad experience. Eggs and breakfast meats are always perfectly cooked and fresh - my kids LOVE the pancakes! Dinners are always very good (shrimp wrapped in prosciutto served over linguini is my favorite).
