Wheated makes delicious pizza. No one will argue that point. We got the Bensonhurst, which is a margarita. It was tasty. Wheated gets two stars because they clearly advertise 16" pizzas, and our pizza wasn't even close, as you can see from the picture. They had a white pad underneath for the pizza to sit on and it didn't even come close to filling it all the way out. If you're going to charge $25+ for a pizza and tell customers you're making them a 16" pizza, then Wheated, fulfill that promise. Don't lie. And if you accidentally make a pizza that is so far less than 16" as ours was, don't tell yourself "Well, I'll just give it to them, they won't notice" and instead think "How can we ensure high quality standards and make our customers happy" and just remake it. I've had this place bookmarked for quite some time, but they have limited hours, and for some reason are closed on Mondays. However, on a unseasonably warm Saturday night, I finally made my way here. Wheated seems more like a place that would be in Williamsburg, or maybe even Park Slope, but nonetheless I was impressed with the pizza. It was very crowded and mixed with my impatience, I decided to just take the pizza to go. I opted for the Bensonhurst; which is tomato sauce, fresh & aged mozzarella, Pecorino-Romano, olive oil and fresh basil. (For an up- charge of between $1-3 each, you can add anchovies, sausage or mushrooms) I forgot to mention, I really like the premise of all the various pizza's having a name of a different Brooklyn location. They also have a decent amount of cocktails, beers and wines at a reasonable price. While the place is cozy; the staff to be in constant motion, and constantly checking in on customers. They were all friendly and seem to make this place work like a well oiled machine. Because of the size and crowd size, i would suggest this location for dates, outings with friends, but not really for families with children. I'll be back again, and next time get the to dine in and get to try the Borough Park or Bay Ridge! read more

Probably the best pizza in Brooklyn, and comparable to some of the best spots in Manhattan. And I've eaten a LOT of pizza so that is saying much. The bread is crispy yet light, and the toppings and sauce are delicious. They do pizza right. But they also do drinks right, and you should definitely try them. My only complaint is that some of the mixed drinks weren't strong enough. That said the Old Fashioned was. I'd also try and get there early, as they do fill up fast and kitchen closes 10:30. It's not a big place. The Brussels sprouts salad is good but it's off the menu, and they forgot to bring our salad, but let's be real, the pizza is why we're here. Came for drinks and pizza this evening and the food was absolutely amazing. The only problem was service at the bar in which we had to ask for wine several times before the cup being refilled. In regards to the food it's some of the best pizza I've eaten in New York and their appetizer with chorizo, calamari and potatoes was absolutely amazing. Tap beer was pretty tasty as well. We heard that this is this best pizza in Kensington, so of course we had to check it out. It's definitely fancier than most of the local pizza places. The prices reflect that, but if you want a relatively simple pie, you'll pay about the same anywhere and get a better product here. And you know, if you're looking for truffle oil or whatever, this is definitely the place. The pizzas each have local names; we ordered the Ditmas Park and it was delicious. Thin crust, charred, plenty of sauce, not too much cheese, and plenty of toppings. Yum. I would totally go back and try all of the other vegetarian options. With Covid-19, they're not offering indoor dining; in fact, you order from outside or over the phone/online. Wait time depends on how many customers they're serving, obviously. Ignore what it says on the ordering app about times. It's better just to call them directly to order anyway, and you can pay either over the phone or when you pick up the pie. What do you get when you combine a very nicely designed restaurant, excellent food and superior service? Wheated! We have been meaning to try Wheated for a while and tonight we finally did. We were greeted by Te who placed our order and made us feel right at home. We started with an amazing mixed green salad that was huge, filled with great ingredients like strawberries, blue cheese and candied walnuts. We then split a Bensonhurst pizza (tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese. Percorino-Romano, olive oil, basil) and ended our meal with a piece of almond cake which was suggested by our second server, Chrissy, who had taken over for Te and was equally friendly and accommodating. One of the many things that impressed me at Wheated was that when we said we liked the pizza but found the crust a little too soft, our server suggested we ask for it more well done next time (as opposed to other places where they would just shrug). Another plus was when we asked if we could have a piece of lemon for our water, a plate with several pieces was in front of us almost immediately. And finally kudos to the person who designed their bathroom door to blend into the wall so customers don't feel like they are seated in the back of a plane next to the restrooms! The design of the restaurant uses every bit of space cleverly and artistically. The vibe is super friendly and the open kitchen lets you see your meal being made (if you so choose). Delicious pizza! We visited on a Friday evening in August, there was about a 5 min wait for a table for two. Once seated, our server came by to introduce herself and take our drink orders. We ordered right away because we were starving! We decided on the East Williamsburg and the Flatbush. And while there was a bit of a wait for the food to come out, it was totally worth it! The East Williamsburg is a white pie with mushrooms and truffle salt - SO GOOD. And the Flatbush has tomato sauce topped with roasted eggplant and lots of cheese - AMAZING. Both my husband and I were put off at first because the wait for the pizza was SO long, we kept saying that this better be worth it. And worth it, it was! Once it came out we devoured both pies, with no leftovers. And to make up for the long wait, our server gave us a free slice of chocolate cake to go - which was also delicious btw! My boyfriend and I have been here at least 3 times and Wheated always has us coming back for more! Nothing but delightful experiences. Church Avenue is becoming quite an awesome area to have dinner. The pizza at Wheated is EXCELLENT. It's not too heavy and the toppings are delicious - I've had everything from anchovies to gorgonzola to eggplant. My favorite seat is right next to the fresh cake. ;) I usually glance at the cake a few times throughout my meal. It gets packed on a Friday night so come early! It's a cozy little place. For an individual pizza joint, it's pretty solid. What put me over 3 stars is the spicy honey they offer at the table, and what keeps this from 5 stars was the waitress. We ordered : Quinoa, snap pea, arugula salad : fairly small in comparison to their other salads. While the flavors are ok, the portion was disappointing for the price. Grilled octopus : didn't really look that grilled to me. The octopus was fairly tender and the paprika was a nice touch. The lemon potatoes were pretty tart though and could have used a touch less lemon. Sunset Park pizza : think of an upscale pepperoni pizza. I thought it was a solid tomato based pizza. Brighton pizza : bacon is always great. I thought this pizza was a nice contrast to the other one we got. White pizza that paired well with the spicy honey on the table Service : everyone here was super nice and attentive. The only off putting thing was that our waitress was a bit too attentive. This was a catchup dinner for my friends and I, and it became pretty disruptive when she kept dropping by to ask how we found everything. I think it's great if they drop by a few times to ask, but it became more like every ten minutes. Towards the end she asked us to let her know when we wanted the check. We didn't ask for it, so she came by to let us know she was putting it there... I noticed there were a few tables available, so I didn't think we were taking up a table that could be used for other guests. Love this place! They no longer sell my favorite pizza, known as the Greenpoint. It was covered with shaved brussels sprouts a white pizza. They still have many other offerings that are delicious too. I usually have a customized pizza when I order from here now. Everyone I've introduced to Wheated loves it. Prior to the Pandemic my wife and i would come to Wheated every so often and enjoyed sharing two small pies and one of their great salads, and usually their tasty cocktails. For the last two years we brought home the larger pies and were looking forward to returning to the restaurant for dinner. This past Wednesday, we did just that. While I am not thrilled with only having the large 16" pie, which means that we only shared one, the pie itself, the all White East Williamsburg with mushrooms, tasted great with a wonderful crust, as did the Green salad with walnuts and Gorgonzola cheese But the deal breaker for us this time, and probably the reason we will revert to take out from Wheated, is the nickle and diming practices that have ensued since they reopened. You may recall that Wheated was one of the first Pizza Places/Restaurants to serve Mike's Hot Honey, making me an instant fan of using the condiment with pizza, even at home. Now Wheated is charging $1.50 for a small serving in a plastic container, which we bought, and $1 for Parmesan cheese, which we did not. What Pizza place charges for Parmesan cheese??? One Italian restaurant we ate at some time ago on Cortelyou Road also asked for a surcharge for Parmesan cheese and we never returned, and unfortunately the same will hold true here, the only other place where we have encountered this practice. I know times are hard, and increased prices for the pizza and everything else reflect that. But nickle and diming your customers is not the best Customer Service practice, and in the end generally proves not worth it. See you on the take out line! read more

Right off the B35 stop. They have an open and large decor. Warm colors. Drinks: I liked The Bourbon Smash made simply with with fresh lemon and mint sugar. My husband had the Cuba libre, very strong but smooth. Food: We shared the shaved Brussel sprouts salad. Light slightly acidic but the cranberries inside balanced out everything. The Bay Ridge pizza with vodka sauce was the special that night. Also ordered the Vinegar Hill. Both pizzas were good, thin & crispy just like I like it. Didn't mind the lack of sauce that much. Out of the two we ordered, I preferred the Bay Ridge. Lastly, the service here is wonderful. Attentive and friendly. We even got asked a couple of times by the chef about our meals. Got a large Caesar for meself and the NY Slice Style Pizza. The Caesar was sublime, thick anchovy pieces layered on top, creamy dressing and freshly grated Parmesan. And the pizza; Not to be cliche, but there is this harmony between crust, sauce and cheese that is very rare. Granted this was my first visit but I can tell, this is not your average pizza joint. The Bensonhurst was more of a traditional margarita pizza. We enjoyed it. We REALLY enjoyed the Bay Ridge. It is made with a vodka sauce and it tasted great! Any pizza on the menu would be worth trying. Their salad choices are limited to 3 and there isn't much else on the menu. Overall, great service, awesome environment, and delicious pizza! We'd been hearing people rave about Wheated, but hadn't been back since pre-COVID, when we recalled it being fairly tasty but very overpriced. This time, we started by sharing a caesar salad, which was sizable and fresh but very bland. We followed that with one small eggplant pizza with red sauce, which was tasteless, and one small artichoke white pizza with olives, which was mostly just salty; we didn't finish either. It all looked very nice and Instagrammable, and had the thin crispy crust that shouts "this is elevated pizza, not mere pizzeria stuff," but when neither the sauce nor cheese nor crust is especially flavorful, I'd much prefer the corner pizza from down the block -- Di Fara's this is decidedly not. Add one star if you enjoy '90s bro-rock blasting over the PA. read more

Pizza and Whiskey. REALLY good pizza and wheated. That's all you need to know. So far I have been there 4 times and each time was consistently great. I tried the cocktail of the day and one bourbon drink (penicilin) and they were strong but delicious. The pizza is sooooo damn good. Organic and vegan ingredients really good it a good flavor. The kitchen is open so you can watch the making. Also, they have housemade sriracha, hot honey and thai chilli for the table. The home made ice cream is also delightful to the palette.
