One of my low key favorites in the neighborhood. Love their garlic knots, meatballs, and lamb ragu. The Moscow Mule is great too.

Super low key place with great pizza and pasta! We got the Di Parma pizza and it was so thin, and loaded with toppings. The lamb ragu pasta was also so filling and rich, a really delicious sauce. Really great lowkey spot a few blocks away from a friend that we were visiting. We sat outside for a few beers, and our server was sweet & very fast. To start we shared the really tasty Pear & Goat Cheese salad. Pears were sweet and balanced so nicely with the slightly bitter arugula, goat cheese and tangy lemony dressing. Then we ordered two pizzas, the White Canvas & the Funghi, which were tasty & fresh out of the brick oven. I enjoyed both but think I'd try others in the future. The real star of the meal for me were the Ricotta meatballs-- so fluffy and most and well flavored. If I was in the area I'd come back just for them! read more

I use to come here when it was called Toby's Public House and loved the pizza here. Super glad that the pizza is still solid after new ownership and name change. This is a great local neighborhood spot where you see the same families or people dining here. It's not a noisy sports bar like all those 5th ave bars which I love. They have a good variety of food and beer on their menu. We are big fans of their pizza and salads. I would skip the pasta dishes here since it's not their strong suit. The staff is also super friendly. If you want a nice chill place to sit and eat, then definitely give Battle Hill a try. read more

Love this place! We have talked about moving out of the park slope neighborhood but have been apprehensive about doing so because it would mean being further away from our beloved gem that is Battle Hill Tavern. Our favorites include but are not limited to the Fig and Fungi pizzas, as well as the lamb ragu. If we do end up moving out of the neighborhood we will likely return just for Battle Hill. But if we are being honest with ourselves, we will probably try and move even closer than we currently are. Ps: the Mac n' cheese gets an honorable mention! read more

We live around the corner and have been eating here since pandemic and honestly the service has changed. When we eat here once a week the server has attitude towards us to order,they leave the phone off the hook on purpose to drive business. Great food just need better servers who don't bring attitude to the dinner table.You ignored our question by asking the bartender about the phone issue. Delicious Neapolitan pizza in many flavorways with excellent outdoor seating in the summer and plenty of indoor seating for the not summer. TVs inside if you love sports. Very family friendly, so if you've got kids, well, so does everyone else eating here. The pizza is delicious, floppy, juicy, full of flavor. I was feeling like I needed vitamins after a night of shenanigan however so I ordered the salmon with broccoli rabe for a health boost - I've been spoiled with good salmon in the past month and I would say as my tastes go this was by far not my favorite - the filet was ostensibly deep fried and served well-done which is the opposite of what I like (black and pink) and is served atop a generous mountain of broccoli rabe and cauliflower. I was grateful for all the veg, but it to me was also overcooked and had the freshness zapped out of it. Here's me still ignoring the delicious pizza, hoping I can get them to menu-ify salmon served grilled and rare and atop the show-stopping looking Cesar salad they have by the time I return (because I'm the queen of south slope lol). We tried the artichoke and spinach dip, and also got a pizza half margherita and half hot soppresata. The artichoke and spinach dip was fine, it had a little too much mozzarella for my taste making it very stringy but the taste was good. It was served with plain toasted bread which we weren't too thrilled about. Pizza was also fine, good but nothing out of the ordinary. It was a little soggy, i did wish for a better textured crust. The fungi pizza is absolutely delicious here, the others are A-okay. I also ordered the garlic knots. They were very well-made: baked to perfection with generous amount of fresh garlic but were on the bland side. A little salt or parmesan could go a long way. read more

It can take awhile for your pizza depending on how busy it is. Overall, the food is always good. The portions are quite generous. The mussels are my favorite. We came in Saturday night and it was the perfect vibe for what I needed. It was a really great, cozy spot with a lot of TVs, a decent size bar, and a number of tables. Bartender was attentive and friendly - the beer list was really great (lots of local beers and a variety of flavors). The size of the large salad was HUGE - we had the antipasta type one, which is my favorite type and did not disappoint. The sliders juicy and got rave reviews from my burger-loving boyfriend, and the pizza was yummy. Overall, it was a great, casual spot where I felt comfortable kicking back and hanging out in. We used to come to this place when it was under different management and different name. When we decided to stop by for a pizza last Sunday night, we discovered that things have been updated and everything had a nice facelift. The pizza is still great: thin crust and baked in a real fire oven with very delicious toppings. We got a mushroom pie and a classic margarita, and they did not disappoint. Battle Hill has a good beer selection, a legit pizza oven, and shakshouka for brunch. I couldn't ask for more...well, maybe that it were a little easier to get to from Prospect Park (or Jackson Heights), but we can't always get what we want. This place is great! Went here after dinner for a drink and ended up ordering a salad and dessert. The burrata in the salad was so creamy but the real hit was the cookie! Don't go here. The food is terrible. The drinks are worse. I really wanted to like it because it's so close to our house. If you just want to have a beer at the bar, their beer selection is decent. Just don't order a cocktail. Update: in response to the owner, I actually left about half of my salad. I drank the second martini because I felt bad to send back another drink but it was really awful-still just way too dirty. And I'm not sure how I would have told a server or a manager that the pizza and calzone were pretty tasteless. (My kids finished them because they were hungry.) Maybe I could have pointed out that the prosciutto in the Brussels sprouts was just thrown In and undercooked. In any case, if I want to write a bad review, that's my prerogative. The house salad is plentiful, laced with large shards of parmesan cheese, perfectly ripe cherry tomatoes and a dressing that's worth asking for some extra to take home in your purse.
