These people are great and have taken such good care of me since the day they opened on Westgate, Oak Park. James, John to name a few... thank you guys!! Help me pick out a gravel bike next.

With covid going on, it was time to get out and ride socially distant (by myself). Well I finally rattled off a couple of fender bolts, so I went online to find some. I could get them from France maybe by the end of September, but guess what? The great folks with spokes at Wheel and Sprockets in Evanston told me via email they could get me a package, I could pick it up at their Oak Park shop and soon. We'll today was pickup day. Kim waited on me, and I have to say that they will be my go to bike shop. Just the right amount of business with social distancing, I waited outside for just a couple minutes. Thanks to the managers in both shops and easy coordinating to get a customer a not too common part for their bike.

I've been wanting to get a bike for sometime, I have a Peloton and was ready to change up my workout. I went to the Trek website and it listed W&S as an authorized Trek vendor. I took my boyfriend with, he wanted to join me on bike rides. My boyfriend and I arrived and waited in line (due to the pandemic it seems like everyone wants a bike) for about an hour. We were informed that we wouldn't be walking out with a bike today, all bikes in the shop were sold. If we purchased bikes they would arrive in 2 weeks, we were ok with that. We went in and was asked what we was looking for, we knew we wanted a hybrid but that was it. I got to try some bikes in the shop and was fitted to a bike size that was appropriate for my body, all while taking COVID precautions. My boyfriend purchased a Trek bike as well and went through the same process with me. The workers at W&S really knew their stuff, they were extremely knowledgeable and helpful in making our decision. We went to a different bike shop first prior to W&S and had the total opposite experience so I was very appreciative of having such a positive experience at W&S. This is now our go to shop, if we need service this is where we'll go. Our bikes arrived last week and we have been loving it! We've enjoyed a couple rides out on these last couple sunny days.

    Thanks, Keith!

Keith was extremely helpful at the store. I have a cervical spine injury, which makes riding bicycles difficult. Keith recommended a couple of different styles of bike that I never would've thought of on my own, because I did not know they existed. He was conscientious and attentive. While I didn't buy a bike this time, I would definitely consider going back to buy a bike from Keith at Wheel & Sprocket.

If I could rate these guys 10 stars, I would in a heartbeat!!! Where do I even begin. I've been on the hunt for a Trek FX Sport 6 for awhile and finally found one just north of Milwaukee at another Wheel and Sprocket location. I called that store (spoke with a super friendly associate) and he informed me they can transfer the bike free of charge to a store closer to me! I called this location (Oak Park) and spoke with AJ who was super friendly and beyond helpful! AJ helped ensure I had my whole setup including pedals and bike computer (he took a lot of time explaining different computer options for me with various price points). He helped coordinate the transfer and was very helpful!! I picked my new bike up a few days later and had the pleasure of working with David who was awesome. Super enthusiastic, extremely knowledgeable and helped me understand everything about my new carbon bike. He helped me adjust everything in store (seat/grips/breaks), showed me how to remove the front tire, even helped me pick out some accessories and a helmet. There wasn't a question he didn't know the answer to and again, his enthusiasm and knowledge was an absolute pleasure. I absolutely LOVE my new bike and have a good peace of mind knowing I can bring it back anytime within the first year for a free tune up or call with a question. This Wheel and Sprocket team was super helpful and really know their stuff. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!! Thanks for helping me get my 'dream wheels'! :)

Our son won the bike that Wheel & Sprocket donated to the Winter Carnival at Longfellow Elementary School last month! It was truly the most coveted raffle prize that garnered much attention from the children and parents. Thank you to Eric K. (owner), David (store manager), and the team at Wheel & Sprocket for their generosity and support for the community. We stopped by this weekend and met other team members who were welcoming and extremely knowledgeable about bike services and repair. The store has a comprehensive inventory of bikes, parts, and accessories that I'm sure we'll take advantage of when we take our bikes out this spring. Thank you again Wheel & Sprocket!

Too bad my experience was a time-wasting disappointment that's left me unimpressed with Lickton's organization and customer service. Long story short, I ordered a part clearly advertised on their website. Turns out they don't have it. But after accepting and confirming my order, they never communicated to me that they didn't have it. ...So I waited around checking the mail each day for my needed part (I had a century ride coming up) instead of obtaining the part elsewhere. Finally, I followed up with Lickton to check the status of my order number. Result? More disorganization and sloppy customer service, as Lickton did not respond to the online order status request I entered directly through their website but instead left me a voicemail (few days later) to call them (instead of just leaving me voicemail that they don't have the part?). When I returned the representative's call the next day with my order number, he didn't know why he left the message or what I was calling about. I had to explain it all over before I finally learned that they "don't have the part." That was more than three weeks ago. The part in question? Still on their website today.

Rudy's is a really good one. Took my custom road bike in for a tuneup once and they treated it like it was their own. The mechanic even asked if he could take it for a ride - he really loved it. (It's a vintage bike and quite spectacular if I do say so myself!). Even with vintage components they were able to work their magic and get it into perfect shape for another season of riding. When my wife's bike got stolen in broad daylight (it was locked and secured with a thick cable), we went right to Rudy's to buy a replacement. When they heard the story, they informed us that there is a national database of bikes listed as stolen. They offered to enter the serial number and picture (which we had) into the database should the bike ever be brought in to any participating dealer for service. Nothing has turned up but it's nice to know that such a resource exists. Every time I've been in there the people are friendly and the service is first rate. You can tell they really enjoy bikes and people who ride. Great place. My favorite bike shop in Chicago.

I have heard nothing but great things, outside of a mild warning about how pricey it can get. Which makes sense if you're trying to purchase/take care of a nice bike from a high-end bike shop. It has been a while since I've owned a bike, so naturally I had a lot of questions--which might have initially made me feel stupid, especially because I was ALSO worried it would be an issue that I brought in a bike I purchased from somewhere else--but the Kozy team was amazing. Shekinah answered all of my questions simply and concisely. There was never an "upsell" vibe as she explained things, but as she walked me through the different options it was clear WHY she was recommending some of the more expensive items I was looking at. Specifically, she let me know why some of the longer/sturdier locks are more effective for protecting more of the frame (I went with the Abus Bordo 6055K LITE). She explained even further that someone would need significant time with some pretty heavy tools to break through the joints of the lock. It was all extremely helpful and informative. Especially for someone like myself, who commutes downtown and has concerns over theft. Shekinah got me set up with new handle grips (with some tips on how to install them effectively), an additional cable lock for my front tire (which will eventually be replaced by the locking prong for extra security), and ALSO removed a shitty bike rack for me that was rusted and ugly lol. She also looked over my new bike, reassured me that it was a solid purchase, and offered to have the mechanics take a look for a professional opinion. But I was satisfied and already knew at that point I'd be back if I ever needed anything. I'm REALLY happy that it was such a good first experience, because I was ready to get defensive if the bike dudes were rude, haha. But there was absolutely no reason for that, and I'll absolutely be back. It'll be my go-to bike shop for repairs, maintenance, or any other sort of upgrades. I should also mention, it also wasn't quite as expensive as I was anticipating. Everything was super reasonably priced for how high-end it was. Thank you Shekinah! There's nothing I appreciate more than someone who knows what she's talking about and can get me in/out of the shop quickly.
