As part of our 6th anniversary weekend, I wanted to surprised my wife with a fun day cruising vintage mopeds along the beach. She's never rode a motorcycle, much less a moped, so I wanted it to be the best experience possible so she would have an amazing time and want to do it again. I searched Yelp as I often do and found LB Scooters. I went to their website and saw they had a nice selection of classic vintage mopeds for a very reasonable price ($49 for 24hours) I instantly got excited cause I knew I had found exactly what I was looking for. I called and spoke to Shaun to get more information. Shaun was very friendly, knowledgeable, and was able to help me choose the perfect bikes for each of us. The next day we arrived at the pickup and Shaun was very helpful in giving a brief rundown on safely operating the mopeds and my wife was up and riding with the biggest smile in only a few short minutes! We took off heading towards the beach and got so many thumbs ups and cheers from people as we passed, the mopeds were real eye catchers and head turners! Long Beach has so much to explore and made for a great full day of cruising and adventure. Anytime we had a question, Shaun was very responsive and helpful. My experience with LB Scooters was excellent! I rented the 50cc Vespa for a four hour trip. I can't say enough great things about these guys. All of the booking & registration process was online and super easy, so no paperwork needed once you get there. Pricing was all-inclusive as well. Definitely call ahead of time if you have questions and they'll be more than happy to help you find the best option for your needs. Book at least an hour or two ahead of time if you can, but they'll do their best to accommodate if you wait until the last minute like I did. Once you get to the pickup location, there is a lot with plenty of space for a brief orientation & some practice - they will make sure you are familiar with the controls and that you're safe and comfortable on your ride before you head out on your own. A helmet is provided and a second helmet as well for a two-seater if you plan to have a passenger ride with you. No experience necessary, but even as a novice rider with a little experience it was a huge help to get a quick rundown of the basics. If you're thinking about getting your motorcycle endorsement, a scooter rental is a great way to get out on two wheels with just a standard drivers license required. They have faster models available as well if you already have motorcycle training and a valid endorsement. After training, the owner gave me some advice on the best route to take, and less than one hour from making my reservation online I was cruising down the California coast, on a beautiful sunny day nonetheless! I had my gf drop me off in my car and head down to Seal Beach where I planned to meet her - not 10 minutes after she'd found a parking spot I was rolling up. Already looking forward to my next trip!
