This crew saved our lives!! Most caring and best team I've ever come acrossed!! We came in at closing time on Saturday and it's a long weekend. If Jeremy- the man in charge.. didn't go out of his way to help us, we would've been stranded all long weekend, cuz we are from out of town.. we got a flat n had a spare tire on and Jeremy saw that our other tires were going to give out soon too.. So, even tho they were about to close and All the technicians were busy. Jeremy himself got our car on the lift and started to change all 4 tires for us.. !! We've been coming to this place for many years and have always been pleased with their service and prices. Today, Tommy ran the front office. So I called to get a quote for a new set of tires for my car. The guy who answered the phone was super professional and friendly. He also let me know about the special they were having that would give me $100 off on my transaction. Cool. There were some other long over due issues they noticed and called to let me know about and I decided to finally get it fixed. Overall they did a great job but the main reason I'm writing this is because of the great service I received from both the guys I dealt with. I believe their names are Tommy and Alex. I dealt mostly with Tommy and he was nice, professional, and explained clearly everything extra that needed to be done and why. I'm shocked how accommodating and honest this location is! If there's anything related to your safety on wheels I really recommend this location. Wheel works is a big company with locations throughout the east bay. I am NOT recommending just any location. I'm recommending this location. In fact I was pretty sure never to return to the location in Oakland which is a nightmare. Marina location is suffering from the same lack of employees everybody else is. Purchased new tires from this location and at time of sale, salesperson advised all flats/rotations would be covered with purchase of tires. Took my car to get flat from nail fixed and they advised that I didn't purchase extra warranty and that there will be a charge plus they couldn't do it same day or the next. Oh wow...am I surprised to be the first to review this place. Hmm...I don't think is a new branch. It was an early morning for me to bring my car in for service. They promptly opened before 7:30 AM even. The reason for bringing my whip (giggles) in was that they must have shorted a fuse when they installed a new battery a few months back. For some reason, they said it has never happened to them before. Hmph. So, they investigated and replaced the fuse within 30 minutes, with no charge and a complimentary air pressure check on my tires. Sweetness! This WW is way better managed than the one in Pinole. I've been going to this place for over 10 yrs. But now I've stopped going here because for the longest time I had suspicious feeling that they are screwing me for the last 3 yrs. I've bought their lifetime wheel alignment and always bought tires from them. I have 2 vehicles and every time I take my cars here for slow tire leaks and they always tell me it's on the "C wall" and I need to buy a new tire. Even though I've seen the nail's position and it wasn't. Two separate cars, 4 separate tires, back to back they gave the same assessment. Also, I don't feel any difference with my wheel alignment after they said they serviced it. I went to Big O tires and my first visit with a slow leak and they fixed it for free without buying a new tire. Yes, I run over a lot of nails and screws lol. read more

Back story: my dealership said I'd need new tires in the spring but I have enough tread to safely get me through the winter. I found a nail in my tire and it had a slow leak so I brought in to Wheel Works on Marina for a fix. After several hours in the shop, they told me I need new tires. I explained what my dealership said but they refused to repair it. I took it to Fernando's Tires in Oakland and he was wonderful and agreed that I did not need new tires yet. These guys and gal....ugh...all they! Lol have customer service. I've been going here for years and they go above and beyond especially Tommy!! I had my tire sensor go off after buying a new set of tires. I suspected the tire that had the least tire pressure. Yea it wasn't that tire....Tommy went ahead and checked all of them and found a nail and repaired my tire. He also let me know one of my back brake lights were out. He tried to replace it but let me know it was probably something electrical which I believe because my car has a history of my back lights having electrical issues and my headlights flicker haha. I was visiting in Oakland and the low tire pressure sensor light appeared. I stopped at a gas station to fill the tires with air and noticed a nail embedded in one of tires. I just bought 4 new tires from Wheel Works in SF about 6 months ago, but didn't have the receipt in the car. I took a chance and looked up the closest location in San Leandro and drove over. The service rep, Alex, looked up my previous purchase in the system, and said they would repair the tire free of charge. He kept me updated on when they would start repairing my tire, and I was out in 90 minutes! He was on top of it! Loved they repaired it free of charge too. read more

I came to have my Honda Accord serviced (had an appointment) for Timing belt & Water pump, Alternator Belt replaced etc...I was greeted (03/02/2019) by John the store Manager who I was truly impressed with his excellence in customer service. As the work required the specialty of a Tech. I was greeted immediately by Adam P. who was going to do the work, he introduced himself and took my car in right away. Upon completion of work I was called to pick up my car (less than 6 hours) that is simply amazing for the kind of work required to have it done, so I can have my car back in time to go to work! I must command Mr. Adam P. for his high qualified skills and his attention to details, and I might add that he went above and beyond his call of duty by cleaning my engine (under the hood) from all the dark dust and dirt. Way to go Adam! we need more people like you around. I would truly recommend this shop as their Service, Prices, Quality of Work is superb! read more

I had a badly damaged tire that I needed to replace as soon as possible before it blew out on the road. I ordered a matching tire from Tire Rack and had it sent to Wheel Works, as they are a recommended installer and I was given the option to schedule an appointment online. A few hours later I got an email saying my appointment was cancelled, and that wheel works had tried to call me, and I needed to reschedule. Ok, no big deal. I hadn't received a call, so I tried to call them. I was on hold for 30 minutes and gave up. I repeated this several times over the next couple of days before my tire was delivered, trying both calling and scheduling online. No response. Finally, I got the notification from Tire Rack that my tire had been delivered, so I just decided to show up early in the morning. The guy at the front counter was busy trying to upsell an old man on all kinds of unseeded repairs. When he finally got to me, and I explained the situation (calmly and politely, even though I was frustrated) he said that the online scheduling system has no connection to their actual availability, and hadn't I read the handwritten note on their front door that explained they were short staffed? That felt rude, but at this point I just wanted my tire fixed so I asked about their availability. He said they still take walk ins and I could drop my car off and it would be done sometime that day. I wasn't able to leave my car all day so he suggested I take my tire somewhere else. So I popped the tire in my trunk and took it over to discount tires where they were exceedingly polite and fixed it immediately, for much cheaper. Lesson learned. read more

We got are tires here with a warranty (free rotation and tire fixes. ) I've been trying to get my tires rotated and get a tire fix for about two weeks already, they never have time or too busy. I've tried make an appointment ( they wouldn't make an appointment) and so I stop by. 1st they said the wait was an hour and a half then after I waited the hour and a half the said it would be another 2 hour. Ridiculous!!! I left!!! Not waiting any more!!! So I called corporate, still waiting to hear back from them. All I have to say, if you need tires or something expensive done, then you will receive service for these people. If you expect them to honor they warranty, expect to wait for ever! read more

I was a long time customer of this Wheel Works. I bought several pairs of tires here, as did my dad. I was a big fan of them. A little while back, I went in with my girlfriend. It was the first time I'd gone in with anyone but my dad, or alone. I wanted a tire rotation. About 30 minutes after I left the car with them, I get a call. They tell me that my tires are almost completely dead and need to be replaced, and coincidentally, they have a current sale on that brand of tire. Red flag. I stall and say I'm not interested today and just want the rotation. The guy says he can't do that because it'll increase the wear on the tires, and he warns me that I have 1000 miles left on the tires, tops. I decline and go pick up my car. That was 20,000 miles ago. I just now got new tires to replace the ones he so direly warned me about, and they still had tread on them. In fact, about 10,000 miles after I took my car to that Wheel Works, I took it to the Honda dealership and even they didn't recommend new tires! If the dealership (king of the upsell swindle) isn't recommending new tires, nobody else should be. I stopped going to this Wheel Works, as did my dad, and I tell everyone about this when tires come up in conversation. read more

I am disappointed. All I needed was an inspection. I was told I would be given a call in two hours. I left, walked down the street to the mall, sat down and ate, chilled for a few minutes, got up walked over to Starbucks, and then back to Wheelworks. My car had not been touched. I waited, after about 20 minutes, an older gentleman returned from his long walk and meal, he had pulled in about ten minutes after I did and we walked down the street and went our separate ways. He was surprised I was still there. I believe I was made to wait because I was not spending big bucks. Yes I know some people had appointments, but clearly they all did not have them and since I did not have major issues and I was taking up a parking spot that could have been used for someone else, I should have been ready to go when I returned. I ended up leaving because I had to pick up my kids. I came back, with the hopes of getting my inspection done today or at least an early appointment the next morning for having had to wait soooo long. Nope! So I am leaving and going to find another place tomorrow morning. This is not the first time I have been disappointed with this store, so I guess it will be some years before I come back to this one (only in an emergency) read more

I was at Marina Square and when I pulled out of my parking space, I heard a scraping sound. The pan under my car came loose ! Wheel Works was nearby so I scraped over there to get some assistance so I could get home. Adam Pham, an automotive technician there, heard me come in and told me he'd help me after he helped a customer.He put in some clamps at no charge and 10 minutes later I was on my way! They were only open for 15 more minutes, but Jose told me to come in so they can take care of it for me! Do yourself a favor and go to another location. Made an appointment a couple days in advance, for simple tire rotation and wheel alignment. Brought the vehicle in 10 mins before my appointment, was told my vehicle would be up next could take up to one hour. Two hours later my car is parked in the same spot I left it. I was asked if I can come back tomorrow. Wasted my time. Whats the point of making an appointment. No shuttle service, no explanation, just a simple no care attitude. If a local shop is offering price match which San Leandro is full of tire shops, bring your business there. these people don't care enough. read more
