It's a total dive. The greens are as good as it gets, very authentic and delicious. The mac 'n' cheese was very good, too. The cornbread was just okay. Tasty pulled pork sandwich served on a hoagie style roll with cole slaw topping. I opted for their hot sauce. Not a lot of heat, but still good. I liked the portion size and the pork had a nice smoky flavor. The side of potato salad was your basic potato salad. Probably get the mac and cheese next time. Owner was friendly. This place is an absolute hole in the wall, and that's a good thing for a barbecue joint. I had their pulled pork sandwich and it's the first time I've ever had barbecue on a sub roll. What a hidden gem! As our dining companions said, a little divey but the food is totally worth it. Locally owned, with plenty of eating space inside and out, all decorated with flying pigs. We enjoyed nice weather and a radio under the umbrella at a picnic table outside. The soda is cheap at 50¢ a cup, or you can get water. The kitchen is fast, and the portions are generous. The half rack of ribs is juicy and sufficient, and the sandwiches come stuffed into hotdog buns. Neither the pineapple jalepeno nor hot sauces was particularly spicy, and there is also mild sauce. Each lunch entree comes with one side, and there were no complaints about any of the four we tried: collard greens, candied yams, potato salad, or macaroni salad. They use paper plates and plastic silverware. Nice staff, too! You should give them a try. They do take out and catering too. read more

Bought food for several men that was repairing my vehicle. They loved it and ate on the family platter a couple days. Will do it again.

This location is an upgrade from their last location, but still a bit folksy, although admittedly they have the place looking a little better than the previous establishments that were there. They make their own potato and macaroni salad and give good portions. I do find much of the food a little bland. A word to the wise: a pinch more salt or sugar can go a long way to bringing in more business. I was overcharged on my visit and when I questioned it, I did not get an appropriate response, but instead of arguing, I let it slide. They've managed to stay in business for years, but there are little things they could do to help them thrive, for example updating their website prices to match what they actually charge. read more

I really like this place. I tried the pulled pork sandwich with greens on the side. The sandwich was great and the sauces delicious. The greens were well prepared and good enough, but I've had better greens. The owner is really nice and it is a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. I'm looking forward to trying some of there other BBQ meats in the near future. read more

It's been a little over a year since this covid 19 started. Plenty of time to update or make a note on the menu of changes. But instead when we figured out what we wanted we were told . Due to the pandemic we aren't doing that special. That wasn't to terrible to take but could of been avoided with a simple note on the menu. Then he brings out our meals (with out) any utensils. It wasn't busy so it wasn't that. But the biggest thing was the sauce. It was straight off the shelf sweet baby rays. I like Sweet Baby Ray they have great stuff but when I go to a BBQ place I expect food with a little more thought and creativity in it not just herbs what I bought at the store. Sweet baby Ray's even has a juiced up version for pulled pork, it has sweet bell peppers in it cuumin, onion, and a few other spices, it really puts the yum in the meal. Then they must keep in warm in a water bath because mine started making a big puddle in the container. The meat was tender but great by any means. If your going to take the time to smoke something for 6 to 12 hrs why would you just dump an off the shelf sauce on it? Then the sides potato salad bland, coleslaw bland,baked beans with cinnamon in it just wasn't a good experience. The mac-n-cheese it was the only over the top not just out of the box kind of food. It has good flavor and was cooked just right. The just of it all was it wasn't a good dinner out we are tired of going out shelling of 25 or 30+ dollars for food that just doesn't come close to being the reason you go out in the first place. Something is fishy about this place. The food isn't bad but I believe the smoker out front bellowing smoke is for show! there is no sufficient supply of cord wood anywhere in site to make me think that they are actually legit smoking their meats to length. i think they are baking the meats and finishing them on the smoker for a few minutes. not that that is a horrible thing. true BBQing is a difficult marriage between art and science and of course some cool crisp effervescent inspiration, cheers. this one is on you! try it out. read more

Went there tonight. I will never go back agian. They only had one side which was baked beans. Blah. I ordered extra sauce and didn't relize I didn't get it till I got home. There was very little sauce on the sandwich and couldn't even eat it without the side of. BBQ Me and my gf were the only customers. I could understanding forgetting when they are busy but please. Will never go back. Makes me wanna open my own BBQ place downtown to show them what a restaurant is. read more
