I'm a new Butler resident, transplanted from Houston, where you really have to dig to find good pizza. Luckily, I had a solid lead that the food was good here at Tani's. Last night we ordered a pepperoni pizza. We were quoted a 15 minute wait and by the time we completed the 8 minute drive to get there, it was ready for us! The inside is cute, though I'm not sure we'll ever sit down here. It's clean and charming and just the right amount of kitschy. Got the pizza home, tried it, and it's good! For me, the standout is the sauce. It tastes fresh and not over-processed. The crust, for me, could do with some work. It's a bit of a floppy slice and if their oven could get a little hotter I think they'd nail it. It has just the right amount of chew. The cheese is okay. I'd like it if it had a bit more flavor, you can tell there's room to improve the quality of the cheese. Same for the pepperoni. Definitely not a standout or anything, but I don't expect wonders in pepperonis anyway. We placed an order over the phone in less than a minute, the pizza was made quickly, and it was a solid slice. Not much at all to complain about. It isn't the BEST slice of my life, but it is definitely a great place to start here in Butler. I'll keep you posted! read more

I found this place about 3 years ago. It's an old time pizzeria that has a great Italian menu, complete with call in and take out orders. The only thing is they only carry bottle and canned soft drinks, but the food is amazing and more than makes up for the soft drinks. Tonight there were five adults and we ordered two large pizzas and a six piece order of garlic knots to dine in. Definitely the best pizza in town. read more

This review is long overdue! Every time we are in Butler visiting family this is one of the places we have to visit! The pizza is excellent and the pasta is good too! Would love to rate the food however I can't so I'll rate the service. They never confirmed my order on Slice so evidently Slice cancels it after so long. If you're not available, don't accept orders. This is another visit to our now favorite ristorante/pizzeria. Our family of 7 came in around 5:00 pm on a Thursday, and was seated in the booth with plenty of room for 4 adults, 1 teenager and 2 children. Bona was our server and pleasant as usual. I ordered a cup of wedding soup that was so yummy and flavorful. Highly recommend it. We also ordered one large pepperoni and one large white sauce cheese pizzas, and three calzones (1 veggie, 1 meat lovers and 1 spinach/bacon and ricotta). All of us had soda's to drink. We just moved from Seattle last Summer and have been searching for some great pizza in Butler. We've tried almost all of them except for the big box chains; Dominoe's, Pizza Hut, etc. And this one is it... It's the only place we order pizza from! The crust is chewy, sweet, and all around perfect! Sauce, also has a bit of sweetness, yet savory. I usually order the Hawaiian. Tani's has put their own spin on the classic Hawaiian by adding mandarin oranges to the normal ham and pineapple. I was skeptical at first, but as it cooks it breaks down a bit. Making each bite explode with deliciousness as you chew through it! The delivery drivers are quick, courteous, and appreciative of your business!! We've ordered other pizza's and all have been great. Tani's makes pretty good pizza. I'll give them that. But two out of the three times I've ordered from there -- always a single, one topping pizza -- it's taken more than an hour to get my food. The three-star review is generous, and only because the food itself was decent. My first time there was a few weeks after they opened, back in the spring. I ordered a pizza for takeout, and had an estimated 30-minute wait time. No one else was there. I decided to go home and come back because I live less than a mile from the shop. When I came back I waited another half hour for my pizza. Just a review: It took more than an hour to get a one-topping pizza for takeout with no other patrons in the restaurant. Wtf. A few months later, I decided to try this place again, hoping they had worked out some of the kinks. I called in for delivery this time, recalling my previous nightmare, ordering a pizza and breadsticks. The phone number didn't work the first few times; apparently they can't spring for multiple phones or call waiting. You have to keep calling until you don't hear a busy signal anymore. Lady over the phone estimated my order would take 45 minutes. Instead it took an hour and 20 minutes. I live about two minutes away from this shop, right down the street. My most recent order was finished in a timely fashion -- 15 minutes -- but the waiter was pretty rude to me because I wanted delivery and he told me to just wait. After my previous two experiences, I had no desire to wait in the restaurant. For all I knew I could've been waiting an eternity. The pizza is good, but a little expensive. A large plain cheese is about 12 bucks and goes up from there. The decor here is kinda cheesy too, no pun intended. Laminate with faux bricks on the walls inside, the constant music that sounds like the "Taste of Italy" Pandora station, a weird, graffiti style pizza logo. The pizza was decent. it was a little soggy, however. It was not cut into pieces. it was only cut about 1/2 inch to start the cutting. we had to cut it ourselves, and being that it was soggy, ended up making a bit of a mess since we did not have a sharp pizza cutter. the point is that it should have been cut. perhaps he forgot (but he did start the cutting??). here is my biggest problem. the jokes he has posted. for instance, "suppose we refund your money, send you another without charge, close the store and have the manager shot". a few things. I don't find it funny, but further, most jokes, and I include this one, have some truth in them. So, this joke must have resonated with the owner to some extent. It is VERY off putting. yes, he absolutely has the right to do it. As a business owner, in a million years I would not put up something like that. He has other "jokes" similar to that. from Lee resource. "for every complaint received, there are 26 who are unhappy and remain silent" I would ask the owner, why shoot yourself in the foot? I am sure I am in the minority of people where this matters, but it does not foster good rapport with the people that are keeping you in business. He seems like a nice guy too. This is the best pizza in Butler, hands down. Thin NY style hand tossed dough, always is hot and fresh and by far is the fastest delivery we have gotten in town. I would say we never wait longer than 20 minutes for pizza. We had one time where the Sicilian pizza wasn't right and we have them a heads up just so they knew, and they delivered us a whole new remade pizza so quickly, and it was perfect. Our go to is the Hawaiian, but I am also a fan of all the meatless options. I'm pretty sure I have tried them all. I really like the Spinaci. The garlic knots are also super delicious. Ordered take out at work and got a regular pizza and a white pizza. The regular pizza was outstanding! The crust was crunchy and the sauce was sweet, very very impressed. The white pizza was good, but they put ricotta cheese under the mozzarella and the texture was a little weird to me, but if you are into that you will really like the white pizza! It's a little early to give a complete review, but based on the taste of the pizza and tiramisu I am giving four stars. First time visitor. The seating area, although limited, is nicely decorated, and the service was fine. Our group tried a pizza - okay, the crust was undercooked and rather expensive for a 12 cut "deluxe" pizza - $19.99; the 9 inch hot hoagie was good, although for the price -$8.49 - french fries should be included. Instead, we ordered french fries as a side for $2.99 - they were crispy and hot, but the portion size was small for the price. Finally, we ordered BBQ wings, which were very saucy and included a side of ranch, for $9.99. Drinks only include one refill. Would I return? Probably not. Our bill was almost $45.00 for 4 people, without tip. Also we all had just water to drink. read more
