I chose lemon pepper as my seasoning and got Mac and cheese with sweet potatoes and cornbread. My food was ready in a timely manner. I got a lot of wings and a scoop of Mac and sweet potatoes. Heard about this place from a coworker, stopped by and did a placed an order to go. The cashier was very nice, the place was busy and they have a nice selection of different items. I was upset they only do Caribbean food on the weekends. I opted for the Cajun catfish plate(two pieces of fish) and two sides. I got the okra and Mac and cheese. This was my first visit to Vittles at the Park. I found it while looking for something to eat and since it was soul food. I decided to give them a try. Not bad, the cashier was pleasant and took the time to explain the menu since it was my first time. I ordered the fried catfish (without the Cajun seasoning), yams and turkey collards. The cashier advised it would be 12 mins on my catfish, which wasn't a problem because I was glad it would be hot. When I revenue order, the fish was fresh but it wasn't as temp hot as it should have been. The turkey collards were good, they could have had a little less oil and would have been perfect. The yams were fresh cut but had an aftertaste from the vanilla. I didn't prefer them and will not get them again but they weren't terrible. I had a bottled water to drink and even though I pulled it directly from the cooler, the cooler wasn't cold. The best thing I had as the butter pecan cake. I could order a whole cake of that. Overall, not bad and there were a few other items I would like to try. They seem to be family ran business. I will say the bathroom area has an old water smell that prevented me from being able to go in. That definitely needs to be looked into. If you're in the area give them a try. read more

Hello! I just left your establishment. I chose to go there because of the butter bean/corn that you all sell. I decided to order a full entree of hamburger steak and gravy over rice, Mac and cheese and butter beans/corn with a side of yams. Upon entering the building, the cashier did not greet me. Once I informed her of my purpose for being there, she told me the yams would have to be paid separately (in which I wasn't aware of because I ordered online and it didn't calculate an additional cost once I submitted the order). I paid for the additional side and she went and got my plate. Once I got to my car and opened it to begin cutting into the meat, it was extremely hard and tough to the point that a tooth on my fork broke. I decided to return the plate but tripped and fell out of my truck, tossing my food and phone onto the pavement. A nice gentleman came from the kitchen to clean up the mess and informed me to go back inside and let them know to replace it with something else. Once I got inside, she told me to choose from the same price as the previous order which was $12.00 chicken and dumplings. When she brought the plate out, it was only that with no sides. I asked her where the rest was and she went to the back to return and tell me that they were only replacing the meat because that's the only thing I complained about. I stated "so I fell out of my truck, bruised and possible broke my wrist, all of my food fell out of my plate and the only get a replacement for the meat?" Her response was "yes" and she asked "are you ok, do you need ice" and my reply was " no I'm not ok and I'm going to the ER now" I would like for you to reconsider how you address the concerns of your customers especially if they are complaining about a product and then get hurt in the process. read more

My friend saw this place on TikTok and wanted to try it since we were in the area - And honestly, she had me sold at fried ribs!! We walked in and the line moved pretty quick, we were greeted by the friendly cashier who was so nice and great at making recommendations! They had delicious side choices and such a variety that it was hard to choose. For each meal you can choose either 1 side or two. I did not get to photograph the food because we all sat at that tiny table and inhaled almost all of it! The food was fresh, seasoned to perfection and just oh so delicious! The oxtail - 10/10 - Seasoned to perfection, tender fall off the bones, served over a bed of rice and beans and plantains, this was in addition to the two other sides it came with, all for about $24 which in my opinion is a steal. The fried ribs - 8/10 - These were also seasoned to perfection and served with a carolina sauce, the meat was tender and falling off the bones. $16+ tax with two sides. The fried chicken wings - 10/10 - When asked about the wings my 7yr old said "Thumbs Up Mom". - They were beautifully golden brown and fried to perfection! He also really enjoyed the mashed potatoes. We also ordered dessert, my friend had the birthday cake with sprinkles and I had the strawberry cake! Both were outstanding! I managed to take a photo of the remnants of my strawberry cake... The place itself was clean and open. I suspect it gets packed quickly during peak hours. Love the food. Always fresh and good portions. Never had a bad meal but boy when I tell you the customer service is bad.... And I mean bad. We need more Black owned restaurants in our community's. But we've got to make the service as important as the meal. Whenever I call in or worse when I go to the front to order I'm greeted with irritation and ZERO eye contact by the light skinned sista taking orders. I went with the jerk Salmon with collards and Lima beans. Other went with the Fried Ribs. First I will say the sides were pretty solid but not memorable. The Salmon on the other hand Great flavor and not overcooked. I Sampled a rib from my Friends Plate and the Fried Rib was bursting with flavor and was nice and tender. The ribs had a nice chew to them. I'm not sure but it did have a taste or hint of honey mustard. Not overpowering at all. I would definitely recommend other to try Vittles out for sure. The mains are where it's at! Fried Ribs and Salmon are a must try. Staff are friendly, courteous and pleasant from what we experience. The wait wasn't long at all for the order we made. I went for oxtails but forced to eat catfish. My suggestion is them removing the mushroom ingredient(s) because people have allergies. I've never had a Traditional Southern or Traditional Jamaican oxtail dish consisting of mushrooms, and/or mushrooms ingredients. I was told they use a Mushroom Soy in the oxtails, so of course I couldn't eat it. Thankfully I asked instead of assuming it was "authentic" southern cooking, and wouldn't have mushroom in the food.
