We've been to a few other locations and were looking for a good lunch stop. We haven't been to. Which Wich since they started using the touchscreens vs. the bags to order. The computer is easy enough, but does eliminate some of the options. I got the Buffalo Chicken - very good with a nice zing. My wife got the Tuna Salad and added avocado. The avocado was good, but she was underwhelmed by the tuna salad. There wasn't a lot of it, and she didn't think it was as good as what she's had at other locations, and not as good as similar restaurants. The food did come out quickly and was as ordered. The restaurant was conveniently located near our hotel, and since the one near us in suburban Indianapolis had closed a few years ago (and we missed it), we decided to stop here before leaving town on the Sunday after we'd been in Coralville for a weekend event. The biggest change we noticed was that self-service screens have replaced the write-on sandwich bags for ordering. I kind of miss the bags, but loved the convenience of the screens. There were several stations, and one was open when we walked in, so we were able to walk right up and place our order. There are also many more choices than there used to be, which we loved. I had the Reubenwich and my husband had the Wicked. Both were good. The selection of soft drinks was okay. I was disappointed there wasn't a cherry cola choice (Dr Pepper is not this, I mean like Cherry Coke Zero or similar), so I had the Root Beer, which was a nice change of pace, by not my first choice. The sandwiches were ready fairly quickly, and the seating was comfortable. Our only complaint was that even though the restaurant wasn't very busy, our table hadn't been cleaned off and we had to brush away a few crumbs. I have to admit that I wasn't expecting much since it was my first time trying a Which Wich, but my Reuben sandwich was very good. The corned beef was very fresh, the sauerkraut was very nice, not overpowering as it can be sometimes on an inferior sandwich. The 1000 island dressing was mmmm. I'd definitely try it again. Food here is overall really really great I've never had any complaints they always have the perfect mixture of every ingredient. The only thing that makes it not worth it though is the price because you get the small hand sized sandwich for over $8, compared to a nearly footlong sub at subway or jimmy johns. I wanted to love this place. But it was just meh. I liked the unique ordering system where you take a sandwich bag and mark which one to want on the bag and check if you want chips, drink or both. Then write your name on the bag. Take the bag to the register and they ring up exactly what's on the bag. It's that easy. A machine could probably do it. For a Ruben sandwich, chips and a drink it was $11.13. A bit more than what I would have expected. I would expect a sit down meal for that price. It takes a bit to make your sandwich. Probably 5 minutes because they have to toast it. Once done they package it and stick it in the bag you wrote on. The restaurant inside is pretty straight forward. Basic seating, minimal decor. Once I got my food I left and in 5 minutes was at my hotel. I opened my sandwich and the moisture and heat along with the dressing had made the bread soggy. The Ruben was pretty basic. Nothing that made it better or worse than any Ruben I've ever had. I liked their house chips. They are ruffled chips with sea salt and cracked pepper. We stopped in to Which Wich on a Saturday afternoon after helping some friends move. I was thoroughly impressed with the menu selection and the delciousness that ensued! It gets some props for having me check off my order on the bag my sandwich is to be served in - very classy! It's a big step up from subway, but definitely still in the fast food realm. Solid ingredients with a ton to choose from and the wonderful option of doubling the meat on your 'wich for around $2. The cuban sandwich was delightful and my best half had something with turkey and avocado. Both solid and worth the price of admission! Standard subway-esk chip and drink selection as well as some bomb cookies when you need just a little sweet at the end. Overall a good place to go for lunch or when you're looking for something that tastes a little fresher than quizno's, but aren't looking to impress anyone. read more

I'm ashamed to admit it that it took me so long to finally get out and try this place. I've been stuck in such a Jimmy Johns rut I did t even know better sandwiches could be had. Cute way to order, marking a paper bag with all your options. Does take a minute, but that is because they are making it with care. The bread is nice and warm and soft, the buffalo chicken was just the right flavor with the melted provolone cheese made it just right. I was so excited to eat it that I forgot to take a picture. Very casual setting. Metal tabletops, cement floor; fairly clean. Ordering is cute: Pick a paper bag and select what you'd like on your sandwich. Lots of toppings to choose from, but there are some asterisked items that are an additional charge, such as avocado, but the items are so few it doesn't really matter. They have 3 different sizes of sandwiches; Small (7'', $5.75), Large (10'', $8.25), and Super (14'', $11.00). Sandwiches come out nice and hot. If you get a drink, you get a plastic cup to take home with you. It's pretty awesome. Sure beats Subway and Jimmy John's. read more

I had gone to the Which Wich in Ankeny last week and it was fantastic so I thought I'd take my daughter. The restaurant was empty and the first girl that helped us was friendly. The second lady was less so. We took our sandwiches to go. My daughters was ok. I had ordered a Thank you Turkey with bacon. It had neither bacon or cranberry sauce. It wasn't good. Sandwhiches are very good. Visited today about 1pm with about eight people here. Six people in front of me to wait for their sandwiches. It took about 13 minutes to get a chicken buffalo sub. Just wanted to give one example of a posible average time frame to expect. Seems slow but a lot goes on these sandwiches I suppose along with the toaster oven and two people working on shift at this time. Customer service is OKAY not fantastic. People do seem to have a good time working here so that seems for better morale and a better quality food experience overall. read more

Was looking for a decent sandwich place for lunch and stumbled on this place. It was my first time going and absolutely loved it. I went to which which to try it out since it had good reviews on here. I ordered the Philly which I was excited to try and paid $11 for the large. . nice girls in there working but was the sandwich worth what I could have gone down the road to their competitors and got it for 3 dollars less no. It was like any other sub shops Philly. I did like the way tyou order your sandwich though very innovative. Not a very good sandwich for what you actually pay for it when in all honesty I could have gone to Hy-Vee and got the stuff and made it my self for probably the same price and had left over meat veggie and bun to make a couple more sandwiches. I guess when you are a chain that serves subs you have to find some way to differentiate yourself. Clearly here it is the ordering process which is probably advantageous when you have a lot of regular customers but cumbersome when you have a lot of new customers because you have to explain it every time. I was disappointed that there were not more pictures available so I could see what the different subs looked like, there was only two pictures on the whole wall. But I muddled through the process and ended up with a slightly better than average sandwich and really an excellent chocolate shake. They do not have one of these shops near where I live, but if they did I would probably split between going here or Subway. read more

Wow I have been missing out. Tried this chain once in California and hated it. Thought i would give it a second shot. unique ordering style allows to not have to wait behind an indecisive person. They have more variety of any sandwich shop i have been to. I went with a muffuleta (which i rarely see outside of the south) and it was great. Which Wich is a neat little sandwich shop that I would recommend if you're tired of the typical Subway or Jimmy Johns. It has a pretty cool interior with trendy bar stools and Hawkeye colored paint. The paper bag ordering system they run by is kinda fun and a refreshing change of pace, but their sandwiches are nothing to rave about. Didn't blow me away but it's really darn good. I had the tuna bowl and it was delicious yet healthy. I must say that the peanut butter cookies are fantastic! We visited Which Wich while visiting our son who is working in Iowa City and it was GREAT. I would have given them 5 stars but it is a little pricey for sandwiches. It is a fun interactive atmosphere where you get to choose each and every aspect of your sandwich from the size to all the toppings and there are so many to choose from. All of the food at Which Wich is absolutely delicious, and their customer service is outstanding. I am a vegetarian and it's really hard to find a restaurant that has a variety of vegetarian options like Which Wich does. I highly recommend the black bean burger. It is also obvious that Which Wich Coralville really emphasizes great customer service. All of the employees are very friendly, and make sure that you are satisfied with your meal.
