Good food with a large variety of drinks that is always changing. The chicken Adobo panini is my go to - it is delicious and worthy of five stars, and the various sides they offer are quite good as well. The cheesy potatoes are great, and the green onion dip is quite good to share. I would avoid the hummus (pretty plain) and the cheese plate is overpriced for the amount you get/types of cheeses. Stopped in on opening night after trivia with some friends. Place was busy, but not annoyingly crowded. We we seated promptly, and greeted by our server almost immediately. VERY impressive beer selection compared to everything else in the area, and each table has a stack of laminated cards describing the different types of beers for those who are curious. Each table also has papers and pencils for tasting notes if you're looking to get super nerdy about your beer. A nice touch, in my opinion. I was with my brother, and we split the meat board. I was told the meats change every once in a while, but we had salami, capicola, and prosciutto, served with whole green and black olives as well. A nice starter! I'm not going to comment on which beers we tried, as they change constantly. I was pleased with my decision, however. I like that there are TVs there, but they weren't on. It's like management acknowledges that sometimes there are things to need to be seen at a bar, but it shouldn't ever be the number one priority, which was nice. Decor was nice as well, I loved the old bowling lane tables. Pretty much everything appeared to be repurposed wood in some way, which I'm a big fan of. It was a bit loud for me, but it worked alright considering there wasn't any music playing. Maybe some wall treatments here and there would soften up the room, it can be a bit echoey. Not a huge problem, though. I'm told there will be live music on certain nights, but I'm not 100% sure where they will go... Overall, if you love beer, you really owe it to yourself to check the place out. You're not going to find as expansive of a beer selection anywhere else in the area. Edit: I have been forgetting to update this, but over time they have added many acoustic tiles to the bar, essentially getting rid of my only concern with it. Terrible service, we arrived to be seated and were told it would be a 20 min wait. Not a big deal, they told us we could wait in our car and they would call us when ready. 40 mins go by and I received no call. I then called to ask how long is your current wait time? The replied "we have no wait at this time". So they just didn't bother to give us a call back to seat us. I have been here 4 separate times. I have had different food each time as well as plenty of drinks. Midland has needed a taproom for a long time now. 41 craft beers on tap is awesome. You can choose from about any Michigan made beer. Every beer I had was great and all of the food I had was very good. I was impressed with the hot dogs and fresh fruit. I have had good service each time and will continue to visit and drink here. It is a bit pricey but it's the only place in town for fellow craft beer lovers. I recently moved down near Arcadia brewery and was so happy to see that Whichcraft has Hopmouth on tap! read more

Outstanding beer and food selections. Not only is the beer great but the food is great as well. The only issue here is service. It is slow the servers are not respectful so do expect to be treated well but you can drink and eat. If you like IPAs they have many to choose from. Decent food and beer. We sampled four different paninis and they were good but nothing to write home about. They were a LOT of bread holding together a little meat and cheese. Home made potato chips were good but nothing special. Side dishes are very limited and came with rotten or frozen cucumbers on DWs "Mixed veggies". They have a large selection of beers on tap but none are brewed there. After a couple of tastes, we made our selections only to find they were out of one of the favorites. Service was fast and friendly. I dont think we'll return and would hot recommend to friends. read more

Beers that were recommended and they were stellar. For food we opted for the Shwarma and it was obviously fresh and was very good. Two words - horrible service. My wife and I came here for our anniversary because it was suggested by a friend. It was a Wednesday night and not extremely busy. We had a taller blonde gentlemen who took our order, brought our beers and then disappeared for the rest of the night. I still had a full beer and my wife was waiting to order another but he never came back to our table even though he took orders at the tables surrounding us. I had to ask another server for our bill. We made a 30 minute trip for this place specifically and it was very disappointing. We will never go back. read more

The waiter explained the menu and the drink selection well. It is a little pricey but the decor and atmosphere was perfect for us. Took my mom here for lunch during her birthday weekend celebration and we had so much fun with the wine flights! We had just recently ate lunch and the cracker board was too much for us to order, wish they could have figured out how to charge us a few dollars for just some crackers. I am reviewing WhichCraft STRICTLY based upon my bar experience. A friend and I went on a weekday evening to find the place packed. We found a spot at the bar, and I was blown away with the selections they offered. When I say blown away, I could have literally fallen off of my seat. The selection of brews is ENORMOUS compared to anything in the Tri-Cities. You can do flights, pints, samples, you name it. They have new offerings so often it's hard to keep up. The bartenders are friendly and very knowledgable. I'm pleased that they had so many beers on nitro! Another charm is the decor and the fact that they have nostalgic games like connect four at the tables so you and your friends can relive your childhood while still indulging in the art of intoxication. The long-anticipated opening of WhichCraft was met with a huge crowd of locals. From my personal experience, it seemed that the staffing was not sufficient for the overwhelming response from the community. It was crowded, the service was slow, and nothing seemed to work smoothly. With that background, I really want to see this place succeed. They have given great care to the atmosphere (exposed original brick walls, reclaimed bowling alley lanes for the bar, felled wood table tops, and decorative touches reclaimed from the original building's storage ). Their selection of Michigan-brewed ales, lagers, meads, and ciders is exceptional. 40 Michigan brews on tap, all of stellar quality. Their menu is creative (although execution has still not reached an acceptable level). And the staff - if you can catch them when the place isn't over-crowded - are friendly and knowledgable. I would give 5-stars for the vision of the proprietors, with 3-stars for execution, if I were able to separate the two. I look forward to the gradual improvement that will come over time, and I am delighted to have the WhichCraft Taproom in Downtown Midland. read more

Most stars are for great service and dog welcoming. Excellent beer selection with a good write up for each so that you can narrow down to the perfect beer. I was happy with a non-meat option on the menu, grilled caprice wrap. Instead of tomato, there was salsa. Instead of fresh mozzarella, it was shredded cheese. Great music. Really fantastic atmosphere. The owners were very nice and open to suggestions. For only being open a week they seemed to be very on top of things. SOOO many beers to choose from, I couldn't decide so I got a flight. Tried the Greek hot dog and it was delicious. Very good food. Draft beer changes daily! I couldn't believe it. Been here a few times since they've opened, and honestly I doubt I'll return. The first time, I had a hot dog and a few beers. A lot of the beers were sold out, but I found a few good ones anyway. Second time, I just had beer, and saw some cops near the end of the night coming in to break up a fight or something. The food was pretty overpriced. Even a so-so hotdog (think Big Bite at 7-11) and some chips was $6. The appetizer plates are $10-$13 and you get very little food for the price. There is a great selection of beer, but it's EXPENSIVE. $6-$8 for a pint (or a smaller 12 oz snifter). Yeah it's craft beer, and that is pretty great. But keep in mind I can go a few miles over to Midland Brewing and save a few bucks a pint on craft beer. It just feels like a pretentious price for craft beer, like we're being gouged because we want to try some Arcadia or Oddside Brewing. I'm pretty sure plenty other craft beer serving places charge less, so what gives? Niche market in Midland so might as well gouge it? The interior itself isn't that bad though. Reclaimed wood tables, brick walls, warehouse-type ceiling with metal beams. But I had to SHOUT to get my order to my server, who kept forgetting who ordered what and brought our table a few different things until we got what we actually ordered. So-so service, beer priced near the high end, and food prices that gouge anyone with an appetite. I think I'll drink local and drink well somewhere else, like the various craft breweries here in the tri-city area. read more

I am also a huge fan of their creme brule. Probably one of the better places to make it in this area, sometimes that's all I actually want so I come in for it and grab a beer so I don't seem too out of place. Good choices for Michigan beer. Need some sound deadening on the walls as there is a lot of acoustical issues. Atmosphere seemed lively. When it gets cold out you don't want to sit by the door since it is drafty. My one complaint was that a 16 oz glass just about perfectly fits a 12 oz bottle of beer. For $6 a pint, there should be a full pint. Otherwise I can go to Eastman and buy the same beer. Need to keep popular items on tap. I'll go back again. read more

A new bar in Midland, which is a Very Good Thing. Atmosphere is nice - bare brick walls, and lots of polyurethaned wood benches, tables, and bar stools. They have an extremely large selection of craft beers, both on tap and bottled, and the bartender/manager seemed more than willing to help us choose one that was right for us, with offers of samples and descriptive advice. They serve food, but the menu is somewhat limited - this is a bar, not a restaurant. However, the food/appetizers we ordered were very tasty and presented well. The grilled cheese sandwich I ordered was among the best I've ever had, if a bit small in portion size. The staff was very friendly and nice. The bartender/manager was very nice to talk to and very attentive. My only couple very minor complaints would be that the food (appetizers) was expensive, and that several of the beers on the menu were out of stock at the time. Other than that, it seems like it will be a great new addition to Midland's 'bar scene' - as we desperately need them. Positives: Fantastic beer selection. Very nice atmosphere. Nice to have additional bar in Midland. Negatives: Lighting...The lighting in this place is bad. I felt like I was in the spotlight. Received a gift card so months later decided to stop in. The beer, mead, cider, and wine selection was fantastic. The problem was ordering one. My girlfriend and I sat for ten minutes before we were greeted by our server, who was very nice, it took another ten minutes to get our drinks.
