I've been to WTF three times now. The first time, just 6 weeks after they opened, was lovely! The rooftop is beautiful and perfect for catching some sun with friends. There is not, however, any shaded areas so when the summer sun roles around, it will be HOT (I actually got sunburned during the two hours we sat there.) The fried chicken was delicious, it has a thick breading (think chicken strip style) and the chicken had no bone. Different and delicious! As an avid whiskey drinker, the whiskey selection is good, some good staples and some other fun, more unknown whiskeys. My favorite part during the first experience was the presentation of whiskey and the service. Our whiskey came on this beautiful custom made whiskey board, with separate spots for whiskey, water and your glass. To top it off, it comes with a house made caramel! It was the best whiskey presentation I had ever received at a bar. On top of that, the servers were great and the manager came by to chat with us all about the opening of the place. Here's the sad part...I met friends for drinks two other times since then and....not so great. Both times the service was really slow, just for ordering whiskey. Then even more sadly, we did not get the amazing whiskeys boards or caramels on either one of my visits. The experience and presentation here are really what sold me. Honestly if I hadn't had a great 1st experience I would probably have given 3 stars...so my only hope is that they don't get lazy with their service. I didn't get to try the whiskey but they do have a lot of discounts on their whiskeys and they even offer whiskey flights! This place has plenty of parking because it's next to a garage that allows free customer parking. The entrance isn't obvious because there are no restaurant windows in the front. The space is dim with loud music but in a very swanky man-pad kind of way. They played x-games on 2 of their three TVs & they played alternative/indie music. Brunch ends @ 1PM. I ordered fried chicken thigh with pickles and a dipping sauce from the lunch menu. The chicken was very tasty and crunchy. It wasn't too salty. The pickles were way too sweet for me. I didn't use much of the dip because the chicken was already flavorful enough. I couldn't finish my chicken because two large fried thighs is pretty heavy. The server was helpful but not particularly pleasant. I don't think I saw her smile once. My group tried the cookie dough ice cream sandwich & the red velvet waffle with berry compote & vanilla ice cream. The red velvet waffle was very soft & tasted like vanilla. The compote was nice & not too sweet. On a 2nd occasion, I came here and tried a gin cocktail with egg white, Jalapeno cheese curds and sushi tacos. I didn't care for the sushi tacos because I thought it was too sweet from all the fruit that was in it but the cocktail was really delicious and beautiful. A little tricky to find due to the over/underpasses and dealing with the train tracks. But it was worth it! The food was excellent. We were there on Sunday for brunch before a Rockies game. I had chicken in a biscuit and my wife had the chicken and waffles. Both were delicious. Some of the best fried chicken I've had even after living in the south for some time. I don't know how they get the chicken so crispy on the outside, but so moist on the inside. Service was attentive and helpful. Whiskey selection could have been a bit more expansive. Especially for a place with whiskey in their business name. Bloody Mary was OK. Needed a bit more seasoning/flavor in the mix. Spicy level was pretty good. Patio is dog friendly. read more

Spent St Paddy's Sunday sitting on the downstairs patio. Hip atmosphere, there was a DJ in the bar at 1pm, playing mostly Hip Hop. Server seemed to be a little frazzled, it was a little busy, so things were running slower than usual I'm sure. Ordered food and drinks, everyone seemed to be happy with what they ordered for lunch. However, we missed that the sandos and burgs didn't come with fries, so we ended up with 4 huge baskets (something I would think the server would have mentioned, but didn't) and ate maybe 2 of them between 5 people. Drinks weren't cheap, especially the St Paddy's specials. As the day got later, the crowd became a little more annoying (20 somethings taking shots and getting loud), and the patio allowed dogs, which were not being watched. My wife is pregnant, and allergic, and one girls dog would not leave her alone (the dogs owner didn't even seem to notice what the pooch was up to). I would have given 4 stars after my first experience with them, which was just delivery. The food was great. This time I went in and the service sucked. We waited 15 minutes for a waitress to stop talking and bring us waters. Then our cheese curds came out before our drinks. I asked for a blue cheese. It never came. Drinks finally showed up as the curds were gone. We had to flag down a different waitress for our check and we were charged for the blue cheese. We won't go there again. This place is cool. The roof top bar is amazing. We happen to not be able to enjoy it as it was 97 out and so hot. We are downstairs inside and it was still cool. The food is amazing. You have to try the wild mushroom bruschetta. It is so good. With the goat cheese and balsamic it just melts in your mouth. Another amazing appetizer is the seared tuna tacos . They are so refreshing. We also had the pig wings which were seasoned perfectly with a chipotle sauce. The fried cheese curds with pickles and jalapeños were outstanding. The brussels sprout do not disappoint and the plain old french fries are just as on point as everything else. The wait staff were attentive at times and were accommodating to our needs. WTF is one of the best spots for late night eats if you're trying to avoid pizza or Indian food, and an overall good atmosphere for a casual but fun dinner or lunch. I have had many items on the menu and only item has ever disappointed (Cobb salad). Everytime I have friends in town, I take them here and they're always pleasently surprised how great their food turns out because their initial thought is... "oh, we're having bar food for dinner." But it's not just "bar food," it's a very well thought out and flavorful menu. My go-to items are the Tuna Tacos (to die for), Buffalo Cauliflower (so tasty and could almost be mistaken for popcorn baffalo chicken) , Brussel Sprouts (glazed with balsamic and cooked to perfection), Cubano (decent but I'm from Florida so it's hard to compare), WTF burger (secret sauce is the key), toasted beet salad (one of my favorites, I love the yogurt sauce addition on the plate), and Cajun turkey sandwich (totally underrated and probably gets skipped on the menu quit a bit). In all 15+ times I've eaten here, the food has always come out fast and the wait staff is always really nice. Eli at the bar is especially on it! read more

So, a couple things about this place. The service is...alright at best. The waitress took so long to great us that we were looking up other places to go by the time she finally said hello. I am a big stickler for service and for me it makes or breaks a place, no matter how good the food is. Now, I will say, my sister (who is in a wheelchair) rolled over some dog poop in the street and the manager was AMAZING about making her feel like it was not a big deal and ensuring we had everything we needed to get set. I was really looking forward to this place! I LOVE the location and the ambiance inside. It is dimly lit and there is an amazing bar that wraps around the entire side of the restaurant. They have an awesome buy one get one happy hour on drinks only (which come on... half the reason for happy hour is cheap bites). However, they give you this cute little stamped penny (like they used to have at casa bonita) and it is good for your second drink. So if you don't need it that night be sure to bring it in on your next visit! We enjoyed the charcuterie and the brussel sprouts. Both were tasty but not my favorite from around town. The charcuterie had two meats that were almost like bologna which was very strange. However, the cheese was awesome. Great selection and we enjoyed those the most. There was a goat cheese and one that was sliced and looked semi boring but really brought bold flavor. We licked that side of the platter clean. The brussel sprouts were okay, being the brussel sprouts goddess that I am. They could kick up the seasoning a bit but they were cooked just right. I probably wouldn't order them again. We were exhausted and wanted some delivery to our hotel thank god WTF is open late and delivery is available until 12am. We got the pulled pork sandwich and the gyro along with a piece of lemon pie. Drinks were fine, but the food was hugely disappointing and way overpriced (with two exceptions). None of the 5 of us enjoyed our entree, but the mushroom bruschetta and the brussels sprouts were delicious. The initial service was slow but I'll attribute that to it being packed and a seat-your-self vibe. Salad eaters, beware. This was our second time visiting WTF so the expectation of decent food had already been set. I knew I was not going to order fried chicken so I did a little research on Yelp before hand. Mix reviews on just about everything other than fried chicken. So, I took my chances, I went with the Cobb salad, it sounded great, bacon, eggs, chicken, you can't really go wrong with a standard menu item like this, not to mention the price was $13.00 so I assumed I would be getting a decent amount of protein on the salad. I was SO terribly wrong. WTF Cobb!? Exactly what my husband and I both said when the salad was brought to our table. I didn't have high expectations, you can't when ordering a salad at a bar setting, but come on. The WTF Cobb salad had less than 2 oz of chicken, zero bacon, which by the way is in the menu description, and about 1 slice of a hard boiled egg. Not to mention it comes inside romaine lettuce leaves, not chopped, in the whole leaf. I definitely received the very inside of the lettuce, where it connects to the heart of the bunch. You know, the all white, clear part, that has a large portion of the actual heart still connected. So, half my plate was the non editable end of a full head of romaine lettuce. Once you chop off that part, you essentially have something that looks more of an appetizer size, with appetizer meat portion all for $13.00 dollars. It was upsetting. I grubhubbed this meal to my hotel a few blocks down the road and the delivery was on time. I ordered the fried chicken, a side of WTF vegetables, cheese curds and an ice cream sammy to try for $45.00 Took a couples bite of each of the food items and threw it all away because the flavor was seriously lacking and it did not keep my interest. However the Ice Cream Sammy was amazing. It's basically a cookie dough ice cream sandwich instead of the regular chocolate sweet bread. This is definitely worth the order! My advice- I would totally skip the food items I ordered except for the ice cream. read more

Wow, just got done with this meal (should have taken pics). Overall 5/5. It's a tasteful and refined atmosphere (unexpected for what appears to be just a bar from the outside) and the food is delish + portions are satisfying. I ordered for pickup: 1. Foxtrot fried chicken 2. Pork wings 3. Ice cream Sammy 1. Chicken breading and flakiness was so good. I read an earlier review that said the same but yet the underlying flavor was bland. I would instead describe it as "airy" and not heavy at all, it almost tasted intentionally refined to have a lighter flavor which my simple tastebuds prob can't fully appreciate. And it paired well with the maple sauce it came with. 2. I feared the pork wings would be a rip-off by being extra small or something, but they delivered! Very tasty, meat fell off the bone, and overall a savory, flavorful, and meaty set of wings (3 total). Surprised...worth it! 3. I waited a bit to eat the ice cream sammy, so it was a little melted when I got to it. The "cookie" outer layers are actually just raw cookie dough, which some people are not gonna like, but I thought it was a cool twist and enjoyed it. Atmosphere - the place surprisingly has a classier vibe than I expected.
