Food, drinks and service we're satisfactory but felt prices were high for the portion you receive. 5 small pork wings for just under $14 felt like a rip off. They tasted good but awkward number of wings to share. Also ordered a sandwich for almost $14 but was given the option to add fries ala carte for $4.5. In my opinion, an almost $14 sandwich served on a small baguette would at least include a side. I ordered the shrimp and grits and had it delivered. When I opened the container there was a yummy looking, well seasoned shrimp on top, so I plucked it off and popped it my mouth. I savored the great Cajun seasoning of the ONE shrimp that was in the dish. The ONE shrimp in the entire serving. The ONE shrimp that was delicately placed within my sight. Visited Denver for the weekend and was searching for a good brunch spot that we could also catch the steelers game. This place had a bunch of televisions, great seating, and awesome service. I don't yelp review very often, and shame on me- because I use yelp reviews to find the best places when I'm out and about. I yelped Whiskey Tango Foxtrot when my manfriend and I were leaving the Denver Flea and we couldn't have been happier. The specials were spicy beer cheese soup and Wisconsin fried cheese curds. They were exceptional. We topped it all off with the whiskey tango burger which is served on an English muffing that was toasted perfectly. The Brighton Boulevardier and Breckenridge cocktails will not disappoint if you're a true whiskey and bourbon aficionado. We will definitely be coming back to WTF soon. read more

This place is awesome. Very cool atmosphere. The burger on an English Muffin is not nearly as weird as it sounds and you should try it. They also make a mean Sazarec (I know its a drink with about 2 ingredients and a garnish, but still awesome). This place has prime location, so they will do well, but I do not think it is a well executed restaurant. The menu is all over the place which concerned me, Asian fusion and fried chicken really don't belong on a menu together. The pricing reflects the location and the initial "look" of the place, but unfortunately is not reflected in the quality. Service is good, if a little scripted, but generally friendly, helpful and professional staff. Strip Clubs have better food then Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.. minus the cheese curds, those are good. I've been several times, mainly because I live next door and every time I go back, it gets worse and worse, both the food and service. Before my lease ends in late November, I might go back for their HH and Curds, but that's it. 1 other thing that was decent was the pork meatballs. When it first opened, the service at the bar was good, there was this one lady that was excellent, good atmosphere, and "ok" food ( Whisky tango burger). The last 4-5 times I've got the tango burger, it's gotten worse and worse. The last 2-3 times I've been, I sat on the rooftop and got a female server and she was awful. I've also had...well I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich, had a bite of it and it was one of the worst things I've had in the last 5+ years, seriously. Food was good, but nothing I would want to go back for. I think it's trying to be fancier than it needs to be. I got the burger which was good, but nothing amazing. Same with the Brussel sprouts. My boyfriend was really happy with his fried chicken sandwich. Rooftop patio is very nice. I imagine it gets crazy on game days with proximity to the coors field. Normally I love coming here, the food is scrumptious and the drinks versatile. But I came in last Friday night and asked if a regular bartender was in, the bartender Will was incredibly rude about it and made me repeat the persons name repetitively (its not a complicated name) and shook his head then simply walked away without a response or even taking our order. We had to call him back to order our drinks we only got one round and left for another bar. We were hoping for a better start to our night, but unfortunately bartenders make the bar and this one has made me hesitant moving forward. read more

Took my girlfriend here on Saturday night. The restaurant has a very cool aura. I ordered the "Devilish Mule" which is essentially a Moscow Mule with Jim Beam. It was around $9 bucks, but there was a fair amount of alcohol in it and I felt nice and toasty after I was done with it. Some starters were ordered: "Poutine" and the fried cheese curds. I wouldn't have called it Poutine because it was roasted potatoes and cheese curds with a mushroom gravy. I only say this because I lived in Quebec and la poutine is more of a fast food guilty pleasure bite to eat. It is made with fries, gravy, and cheese curds. I feel that even though their version was tasty, I was missing the classic poutine that is so simple and delicious rather than this doctored version. Got the Colorado Proud flight of beer. It was a nice mix of Colorado beers, but 2 of the 4 were quite flat. I know that might just be where the keg was at so I wasn't mad. I will say this place a little pricey, and not an every weekend kind of hang out to grab drinks, but I would come back every once in a while to have an eclectic mixed drink. By far some of the worst service I've ever had. We sat upstairs and God forbid, the restaurant puts in some ceiling fans. There was no air flow at all and even sitting under the covering, everyone seemed miserably hot. We came with a big group but there really weren't many people in the restaurant. I planned on ordering bottomless mimosas but our waitress didn't come for 20 minutes to take our order (not exaggerating). We tried to go to the bar to just order them and the bartender was extremely rude and said "your waitress is coming now to give you your drinks." So we couldn't order at the bar. When we finally did order, it took another 15 min to get them which left us only 40 minutes until bottomless ended. Overall every time we ordered a drink it took about 30 minutes to get it I am gravely disappointed in this place because I was the one to suggest it for a bachelorette party but when you can't even get drinks at brunch, is it even worth it? Icing on the cake, no gluten free options and hair on the condiments. No sausage was given when requested. Out of all the brunch places in Denver, I won't be coming back. read more

Just went here with my boyfriend for lunch and it was great! We came around 3:30pm on Saturday and unfortunately there was no valet at that time so we had to find parking nearby. We are beer drinkers and the beer menu was super expansive which was great. We ordered the WTF Burger and the Fried Chicken with fries and brussels sprouts. Everything was excellent. Guys - what's going on??? We've been coming here for the last two years - what's constantly good is the staff (esp Elly and Will- total hotties). What's constantly never the same is the food. Back on the spring the food went from good to great - now it's back to just meh. Ordered the churro waffle, which used to be an incredible cheat day meal... Today it was really sub par. Sara was our server and I've had much better service at this place. I'm here frequently and usually our server is Nick and he is awesome. It was pretty busy tonight when we first got here but it slowed down as the night progressed, so you would think her service would be more attentive. When we first sat down she never introduced herself just asked us what we wanted. After we received our second round of drinks we asked for waters since she never brought them. When our waters ran low we had to ask for refills and that took her forever because she was socializing with everyone else in the bar that she knew, either they work here too or friends, no problem with that unless it hinders service. I work in the food and beverage industry as well and I get it, but this was a little ridiculous. We also ordered food and she did not bring us silverware we asked another employee walking by our table for silverware and he went to grab rolled silverware and she brought over single forks and then stopped him and took the rolled silverware back to the server station. We then had to ask for napkins since we didn't receive them and cut our food with our forks since we didn't get knifes. Overall her service was mediocre at best. I only found out her name from one of her friends yelling at her as she was leaving and it was on my tab as well. She also rolled her eyes a few times at our request for more water and to get napkins a basic thing that most servers have to deliver to a table when there is food service available. We come here all the time and we'll be back, but hopefully she is not our server again and/or she is having a better day and better service. read more

Let me start with this simple fact. I think yelp is stupid, and would not have even spent the time to sign up for this site let alone write this review without good cause. This though, I think will help those future patrons realize that the actions and attitude of one bar tender, who somehow conned the powers that be to work prime time shifts doesn't represent the spirit of WTF. I give a 1 star review with purpose. In reality I feel this place deserves a 5 star rating. John(?) the chef makes magic with food. On top of that he is personable and takes the time to check in with guests and goes out of his way to let people know of new things he's working on (which to date is also magic). Management goes above and beyond to make sure everyone is satisfied and enjoying themselves, and is on top of problems ( like a lack of TP in the bathroom, finding an out of market game for the Tv. This I have noticed (management) started about a year and a half ago, and has continued since Danny(?) has taken over. The waitstaff is beyond excellent and is insightful and knowledgeable on foodstuffs and booze ( Sarah, Felix plus others I cant remember names of, I'm looking at you). The bar tending staff is typically wonderful, greets you by name if they know it, and is prompt with getting you the cure for what ails you (Patrick, Ally, Adam, Kaylee, Bill (will?) you rock). The drinks I hear are good , (i drink beer) and the vibe is most often excellent. Where I have problems with The Tango really comes down to which combination you get. Most days are fantastic and while I come for a beer it tends to be several more. This is a combination of good staff, and good patrons. On other days I literally walk in and walk out because the staff isn't right, ergo, one of the aforementioned bartenders is not on which makes the patrons not right and the vibe straight up hostile. I come here to be served drinks, not to be ignored. I find it in bad taste to hear a bartender give away free drinks to someone for a yelp review when I have been sitting there for 10 minutes waiting to be acknowledged, let alone actually getting my drink. Also I drink beer, beer is super fast, and easy. I find it especially distasteful that A friend who I brought to this bar would feel so uncomfortable on a Sunday night ( 9/23/18) that they would choose to leave the bar, abandoning a drink and missing the end of their teams game because of the actions of the bartender. BTW Detroit won. 3 to 4 days out of 7 this place is a 5/5, those other days, depending on the (bar) staff i think I'd rather go drink gasoline and huff paint. I have seen better service at the soup kitchen. My advice to current and future patrons is simple, pay attention to your bar staff. If you bar tender looks old and haggard with a bad attitude, and a graying beard, do what this local does, go to pig and sprout, or save your money and go home, because nothing good will come out of the night. This particular person is burnt out and unless you give him a good yelp review, you mean nothing to him. Also, if you want free booze just ask for the "Eli" special: free drink for yelp review.. Also it doesn't hurt if you are female and are willing to stroke an ego. Honestly though, that might be the best deal in Denver........if you can put up with a schmuck. What a smart ,well designed ,decorated space.Lots of booth seating and great chick modern industrial bar -big focus on Bourbon and well selected and large draft selection,with good local , national, international options. Menu is small but covers a wide range from burgers,tacos,fish.Stopped in for lunch at the the bar, only customer, but understandable as the neighborhood is all apartments.The meatballs and vegetarian green chile were hot and good, .Service unfortunately very indifferent ,to the point of being uncomfortable & wanting to leave. I work right up the street and frequent WTF more times than I want to admit. Every single time I visit I find another reason to come back. I have had almost every item on the menu and they are all amazing. Appetizers: Pork spare ribs and Seared tuna tacos are a must try. As are the balsamic glazed brussels sprouts, charcuterie plate, and hummus. Main meal: The WTF burger and Foxtrot Fried Chicken are two items that every person should try, without question. They both have a Sriracha Aioli that is simply fantastic. The Tuna Banh Mi is also amazing; the fish is fresh, tender, light, and delicious. Dessert: The Ice Cream Sammy and the Fried Apple Rings should be ordered with every meal and split among the table. The whiskeys and beers, especially the 29 on tap (plus one root beer) make every visit a new experience. While it is a little pricey, given its location and the quality of the food AND service, it is worth every cent. The only thing I wish they had was a frequent diner program. read more

WTF has always been our favorite local bar; however, the staff seems to be subpar anymore. When they first started, they were all super relatable, nice and overall fun to talk to. Now, the service has gone so far downhill, especially when they're busy. I understand busy atmosphere, but when you have at least 8 servers on the floor, you should be fine. Also, I won't name names, but one of the woman bartenders is not nice. Attentive service, but without a smile, it's pretty moot in my eyes. I asked her a question and she sternly replied "No." And walked away. So cold. Food is excellent, but they need to get the service fixed ASAP. read more

Diana was great. Huge whiskey selection, small menu, great atmosphere. We didn't eat because the food seemed overpriced and sides are a la carte ($5 for brussel sprouts on top of a $9 burger or something). Drinks are similarly overpriced, and pours seem to be strictly controlled, so for $13 you can buy an ounce and a half of a good whiskey in a mixed cocktail or on the rocks. My recommendation: Go in and order a $15 whiskey flight. Diana sold us on it (was about to leave after one old-fashioned). She had some great recommendations and dropped some KNOWLEDGE on us about how different whiskeys are distilled, barreled etc. We were fascinated and loved the flight selection, plus it was a good value. Atmosphere is upscale and classy and tasteful. I'm sure I'll be back, but probably more once they offer some better value through specials etc. I don't know what the deal is for happy hour, maybe better.
