Really friendly staff. You will occasionally get surveys on your receipt and get 2 sliders for filling it out. It's open 24/7 which makes it an excellent stop after your late night shenanigans. It's White Castle... what can I say? I've been eating at different WCs since the 1950s. It's a childhood memory that I keep refreshing. I ordered 6 traditional sliders, small fries, and small chicken rings, a cross between an onion ring and a chicken tender. Basically chicken meat formed into a torus, and deep fried. They were good, but once is enough. It's a small store, eight 2-tops and two 4-tops. It was about 1.30 pm, and free tables were scarce. I lucked into a 2-top and enjoyed 4 of my 6 sliders + fries + chicken rings + drink. Total of $11.35. Rather unemotional counter girl. I probably won't visit this WC again. read more

Visting from Texas, we love white castles wish they would franchise down south. They where great, just made and ready to go. The pay system is somewhat confusing.. the Card machine takes Extremely long time to process, so long my husband noticed while we where in line, pay cash! We ate there one day and right before we got on a Airplane i said hey lets get a cravings box and take it home. ODDLY ENOUGH IT WORKED AWESOMELY!!!! Me and my friend went there on Sunday Oct 22, 2017 and ask for two ten sacks no cheese. Guess what these people are not smart enough to know how not to put cheese on them!! Then we called in to complain and manger tells me she will have that manager call me the next day which she did, she even claimed she wanted to make this rite for us and to come back in within 90 days yet, of course when we went back to get them of course the manager claimed she couldn't do it cuz there was no note about it even though she never left the window. A real life White Castle!! Living in the west, these dont exist, only frozen ones. They have a bunch of different flavors here! Pulled pork, bacon and cheese, jalapeno, etc. etc. The regular ones are only 69cents each, we got the suitcase that comes with 30 burgers. Yummm, feels healthy already because theyre steamed, not grilled. When we saw other people walk in to take pix here, you KNOW theyre not from the east either. There was a point where this White Castle was so horrible to go to that it became a challenge to eat here. It was so slow that you often had to allocate 20 or more minutes to waiting in the drive thru. At the time it was also staffed with the kind of fast food employees that hate their job and squeeze every ounce of bitter irony out of their shifts. While I'm sure White Castle corporate would deny this next anecdote, I can say with 100% confidence that I once saw the drive thru guy smoke pot from a Coke can that had been converted into a makeshift pipe. Somewhere around 2007/8 this place underwent construction, and upon returning it also seemed to have eliminated many of the bad habits that it had been fostering for years. I'm happy to be a semi-regular of this particular branch, or at least as much as a sane person can be a semi-regular of a Castle. In terms of food quality, this place is very typcial to all White Castles. If anyone isn't familiar with the White Castle "thing", it's like this: small burgers that have been steamed. So they're less salty than McDonalds-style fast food but they also don't have as distinct a flavor. The restaurant then adds onions and pickles, throws it on a bun, and somehow that magic combo is why all of us White Castle lovers continue to go back. I don't know why it tastes so good, but it does. Once a year this chain has a Valentine's Day special, where they have candlelit dinners with table service, non-alcoholic champagne, and free cupcakes. I highly recommend this night; it's easily the most unique White Castle moment you can have, and the service is surprisingly good considering the staff only has to do this once a year. If you've had other White Castle meals and don't like their food, I don't know if there's any Castle in the history of the chain that could change your mind. For those of us who like White Castle, this is a highly efficient, clean Castle that is open 24 hours and has pretty decent service. It's White Castle. what else do you want? read more

Worst service ever! Placed order on line and arrived at the time I was told it would be done. The order wasn't even started. The person at the counter said we don't know when there are orders placed so we don't start them till you get here. The reason I ordered on line is because it takes forever to get food here. In thinking about how to anchor my rating system with a one-star experience, I immediately recalled my two visits to White Castle while going to Michigan (GO BLUE!). I'm giving this place a 1 star for the following reasons, mostly because the food sucks and the pricing is screwy: - Harold and Kumar DEFINITELY over-hyped White Castle. Taste like crap, or having lacked the experience of actually eating crap, I'd say this might be the closest thing. - Pricing structure is completely out of whack. A "suitcase" or crave-case of 30 sliders have no volume discount. If I were to buy 30 of them individually, it'd still cost the same. WTF? - Furthermore on the pricing structure, a Jalapeno cheeseburger is all of $0.05 more than a regular cheeseburger. Does it only cost $0.05 more to carry the Jalapeno inventory AND train the workers AND add it onto the White Castle infrastructure AND be profitable? I think not. - Both times that I've been there, they were slow to a) get to the window, b) take your order, and c) repeat back the order correctly. Both times I had to correct them... The only reason I would ever consider going back there again when in A2 is if I wanted to see the freakshow that happens there nightly, around last call. read more

If you've had White Castle you know how addictive those little sliders are. They are cheap so you can shove your face with as many as you can handle. The clam strips sound off putting but are extremely good. Watch out for drink portions I got a large and it was basically a gallon of pop. We weren't even deterred by the clue of my cousin never having tried one despite having lived a mile away for 30 years.... we put it down to probably being a healthy Ann Arbor semi-vegetarian. Hostage Gastronome was amused by their very characteristic responses: HG Jr. texted, "Lucky", Don't-Care-As-Long-As-It's-Food wrote, "Jerks", and Social Gourmand was partying in a noisy club so didn't answer. On to the eating... Double Cheeseburger was similar in taste to a McDonald's but not as good or big, and more expensive. The Jalapeno and Fish sandwiches were nasty. When we saw fried clam strips on the menu, we said, "oh, calamari", but we were wrong. I don't think anything was even named a "slider". I know we weren't the first to be led astray by Harold and Kumar. I get that it was about the craving, not the taste, but too bad the screenwriter hadn't chosen a place that could somewhat deliver... I remember driving down Packard with my friends late at night and ordering crave cases for each person and then competing to see who could eat the most within an hour. We ordered the jalapeño cheese sliders, a sack of onion chips and their loaded french fries. The food here was better than any other White Castle I've ever been to. The sliders seemed well prepared enough that they weren't left soggy or too dry. The sack of onion chips were freshly fried and crisp. It basically melted in my mouth in every bite. The loaded french fries had a good amount of cheese and bacon on top which was definitely a plus for me. Overall, friendly customer service and great food. We will be returning for more :) read more

Literally the worst fast food experience I've ever had in my life. I decided to grab a quick dinner later in the evening one night and wound up waiting 45 minute in the drive-through line (I comtemplated leaving SEVERAL times, but ultimately decided not to). When I FINALLY made it to the speaker no one greeted me for 5 min. Then I was asked if I had an online order. I said "no". After 5 min of sheer silence from any employee, I asked "can I order here?" He said "yes, but it will be a 30 minute wait". He was very rude and unprofessional about it and gave no reason why it would take so long, even though I already waited a remorseful 45 minutes. He just kept repeating "it will be a 'bit' of a wait" when I asked any sort of question. Meh. Underwhelming. I'll be honest. I've only wanted to go to White Castle because of the movie - which I haven't even seen. And then my mom got their frozen burgers one time when I was a kid and I thought I liked it. My sister came to visit me and as we were driving home we made an spontaneous decision to pull through the drivethru. Their burgers are small. And seemed too expensive individually to be that small. I definitely wasn't expecting that. I probably came in with unrealistic expectations but nothing really blew me away about their menu. Maybe I didn't know what to look for. I did appreciate that the guy patiently waited for us to take forever to decide what we wanted in the drivethru. As such we didn't go inside and I can't judge. But the food didn't wow me. I would have needed quite a few of those sliders to fill me. The sliders were also meat, ketchup and some onion slices - not much substance. But all in all, it's not a bad place. I'm sure it's staple fast food to people from the area, but I have no burning desire to return any time soon. read more

I felt inclined to leave a review after a quite unpleasant experience at this White Castle location. Two of the people in my party were extremely excited to try the new Impossible Burger and after accepting their payment and the 2 employees talking quietly to each other they told us that they couldn't make them for the 2 people. On top of that, they served the other 2 people in our party burgers that tasted like they had been sitting out for about 6 hours - dry as a desert. On top of that the employees there were rude and just tossed us our food like it was being thrown in the garbage, which is what it tasted like! Now I live in California and there are no white castles here, although we have in n out I do miss the white castle once in a while, the taste is just unique and special compared to other fast food. I could not believe it when I drove down the road and saw this place. I didn't really believe that places like this actually existed in real life. You're not getting anything special with it. So, If you're okay with that, then you'll be fine. This was my first trip to White Castle. I knew them only from the movies and the frozen varieties sold across the country. I truly hope this White Castle location is not an accurate representation of the chain. This place was so dirty. I went at 2:30 on a Thursday, and I was the only customer there. To their credit, they took my order quickly. When I asked the counter-guy if the burger had ketchup, I got a barely audible non-word. I had to ask again. The meal came quickly, and I was glad it was on a tray, as every table was dirty. ALL of them. The floor had trash and spilled food/drink everywhere. I found the 'cleanest' looking table, and took a seat. The tile wall beside the table was spotted with dried condiments and grease. My drink of choice was out of syrup on the soda machine, as was my second choice. When it came time to leave, I took my tray to the trash can to dump my empty containers. There were at least 8-10 trays on each trash can. Some of my favorite eateries are hole-in-the-wall joints. But I expect a chain restaurant covered in tile, to be cleaner. I expected at least one table to be clean. I counted at least six employees on shift at the time. Management or at least a shift-leader needs to make a regular walk through the dining room and restrooms. I'm flying home tomorrow and I hope to God this food doesn't make me sick on the plane. read more
