She had a bacon cheeseburger also with fries. We scanned over the menu after saying hello, ordered our food, and had our entire order within 10 minutes. Speedys isn't just a name, our food came out freshly cooked, quickly. My coney dog had to be eaten with a fork and knife because it was COVERED in chili. They did not go light on any condiment, and for the price there are zero complaints on that. My chili cheese burger was also very tasty. She said her burger tasted like somethinf we wouldve made in the backyard, which is a compliment, as well. After swiftly navigating through Michigan Avenue, skillfully avoiding every orange cone in sight, I made a sharp right turn and another right into an available free parking spot right in front of Speedy's Big Burgers. As I entered, the warm doorbell chimed and I was greeted with a friendly smile. Since I had placed my order over the phone, my Chicken Shawarma and french fries were already prepared, and I appreciated the efficiency. The aroma of garlic wafted through the bag containing the Shawarma, and as I opened the Styrofoam container, I noticed the steam escaping along with some seasoned fry debris on top of the foam, which tempted me to quickly taste a hot fry regardless of the circumstances. Hurrying back home to enjoy the meal with my spouse, I took a big bite and was met with a burst of delicious garlic flavor. However, I found the chicken to be rather bland. Eventually, I had to raid the fridge to find some additional sauce to enhance the taste, and unfortunately, I couldn't bring myself to finish the rest. Perhaps next time, I'll opt for a burger instead. Update: I went back a month later and got 2 cheeseburgers, unfortunately the meat tasted like a char boiled frozen beef patty. It was simply not good which was disappointing, if it was fresh hamburger meat that burger would have been amazing but the taste and texture of the given meat was nasty. The store is small but nice. Parking offstreet was easy. The Big Burger is enormous. Both my son and I each took half home. The seasoned fries were a nice touch (not included).The sandwich was nicely presented, cut in two to make it easier to handle. The toppings were generous and fresh. The burger patty itself was less the stellar. It was nicely cooked but this was not a gourmet cut, in fact it looks exactly like the preformed frozen patties you get at any grocery store and tasted like them. Tried this out because I was attracted to the "big burgers" that was advertised and all of the amazing reviews I kept seeing. I got the Big Burger which came with beef bacon, fried egg and cheese sticks on top. I got the cheese sticks on the side. Customer service was warm and it took less than 15 minutes to receive my food. But, it would be for naught because well...this burger was disgusting. I could tell that this was the cheapest possible meat that was purchased and it was so gross that I couldn't even finish the burger. I tried to power through but ended up taking off the meat and only ate the bacon and egg and veggies. It was extremely disappointing since I was expecting a much higher quality burger but I guess that is too much to ask for when the burger is less than $10. I'm not sure if I will be back since if they are using low quality meat for their burgers It turns me off from trying anything else. read more

Fantastic little burger spot! Great food, excellent service, clean space and a jukebox vibe. The food is cooked and prepared by a smiling older man right behind and near the kind young-man cashier. They seemed to be related. Hubby asked them to surprise him with whatever they recommended and they smiled and happily made and served him the Big Burger.
