He he he, I finally tried White Castle! Ridiculous, I know, but this fast food burger joint has always eluded me on my travels to the other side of the US. We decided to stop by and give it a go for lunch though and I was more pleased than I thought. The trick to eating White Castle? Don't be starving because you'll over order and end up with cold, blah burgers and fries. Get a small order and then place another one after you receive your first so that the burgers are always hot and fresh. Something about those chopped onions and ketchup on a tiny adorable bun make my heart (and tummy) rumble. Once they cooled down though, they weren't very good at all and the buns turn soggy. The sweet potato fries comes with a sweet or chipotle sauce. Get both, they let you. Would I eat this on the west coast? Probably not unless I'm in the mood to pretend I'm a giant. Amazing. This is the third time I have stoped her and there is no one inside or answering the drive through during business hours. No sign up saying they are closed. I should have left when I was hit by the stench of dirty, moldy water when I walked in, but I really wanted to see how similar White Castle is to Krystal's. So the smell confirmed that it is likely exactly like Krystal's. I should have left when my order was ready before I knew my total, but I ignored the fact that I could see the guy grab my patties from a pile of precooked meat.; I really just wanted to see what this was all about. I probably should have stopped eating when the burgers actually tasted like dirty water, but I stuck it out because I thought it might just be in my head. It had been awhile since my last White Castle visit, but the little sliders hit the spot. The crispy chicken sliders were really good, I had never had those before. The inside was clean and the order was made pretty quickly even during the rush. The customer service was noticeable interesting. There were some customers that seemed to be rude and really needy to the staff and you could see that the staff was really rough around the edges in their responses to those customers. This particular visit took 18 minutes to get through drive-thru with 3 cars in front of us. The car directly in front us left the line before getting their food (guess they had enough) and then WC gave us their food by mistake and had to reverse the charge..in 24 hours of course....we eventually got our 7 burgers, 2 onion rings and 1 soda. We stood in line for about 20 min and were finally told we had to go outside to drive thru and order. This was Saturday lunch. We stopped by the bathroom and it was disgusting and no toilet paper. Very friendly staff. Our order was quick and they made sure we got all the sauces we need. This is our go-to spot when headed back to KC from STL. They were sold out of fried pickles which i was very disappointed about and they only put one chicken ring on our chicken ring sandwiches. Other than that the food was fresh and delicious as always. I love their mozzarella sticks but the marinara sauce is very thin and runny. Everything that we had was perfectly done from the Impossible Slider, Double Cheeseburger, Slider, onion rings, fries, and even the mac n cheese bites. On our way to St. Louis we saw a sign for a White Castle so we decided to try it for lunch. I should have read reviews but this time I was driving and there wasn't time to look at my phone. I got our food and it looked like greasy fast food hell. The burger patty is so small and thin like a processed meat goo. I took a bite, ate a few fried cheese curds and decided this meal is not worth the calories so we threw it in the dumpster and left. If I could put zero stars I would. I'm from Cali and I was headed to North Carolina and stopped by this amazing food place everyone talked about and even made a movie about how good it was. We ordered and the service was rude. I let them know it was my first time and I was hoping it would be delicious. I later received my food and went back to the counter and said excuse me may I have some ranch please and got ignored twice when there was three men working in the front. Second they gave me two ranches for a order of five people. Ridiculous! And to top it off my uncle ended up throwing up the food an hour later on the drive and my best friend got a really bad stomach ache. Stopped in with my son on our way home from St. Louis. This was his first time having White Castle and he loved them. Hot, fresh and quick was what we needed and received. Huge disappointment. We've been driving all day with a few more hours to go tonight, and saw the sign for White Castle. Yay! We ordered 4 sloppy Joe's, 4 cheeseburgers, fries and onion rings. We siloed back on the Interstate, opened our bag, and found 1 cheeseburger, 4 sloppy Joe's and fries. Missing 3 cheeseburgers and onion rings. The fries are unseasoned and there was no salt or ketchup in the bag (or offered). What we got was hot and tasty (except for bland fries). Only White Kastle near Kansas, so great place to stop by on our way to St. Louis. The food is ok, the place is semi clean, but the service is average . When you walk in the first thing you see is a sign that tells you about the safe only having one key, so that makes you a little uneasy. They have signs all around talking about twenty-four hour security, a little turnoff... The food is ok, not very memorable. They throw their sliders together and added half a pickle to one of mine. They threw together our hot chicken combo and forgot what we ordered. They place is very dirty, trash everywhere. Every step you take you probably stepped in an onion. We were there for around an hour, and no one was stepping up to clean. The walls were trashed and the paint was chipped. We ordered the chicken combo and asked for it to be grilled and the cashier nodded, but we overall got a crispy sandwich. I grew up on White Castles, so when I saw one last night as we were traveling through MO to our hotel, I knew I would have some after checkout. we placed our order and was told, "please drive around for your total". We got to the first window and there was a young lady at the closed window (with dual lip/face piercings), she looked at us and then walked away. We waited for a couple of minutes and pulled forward to the second window. After sitting at the second window for less than a minute, a young man opened the window and said, "Good morning, you were supposed to pay back at the 1st window." we apologized and said, "We didn't know, the lady never said anything and disappeared." He apologized again.He was very pleasant. We backed up and after a 3-4 minutes the same young lady opened the window and told us the the total. She was handed a card and my girlfriend said, "Thank you". She did not respond. The young lady handed the card back and we extended another thank you and yet she said nothing! HOW EFFING RUDE!!!! She came back asked if we needed any condiments, we asked for salt, she put some in the bag, handed us the drink with soda all over the outside of the cup and the bag. We said thank you again, but she closed the window. RUDE ASS HELL! I know we all have bad days and although she was extremely rude will did NOT return the sentiment. Had it not been for the young man that we encountered, we would give NEGATIVE 5 stars if we could. Blah! Hubby loves White Castle- me not so much, but I took one for the team. Burgers here are pretty much the same at every White Castle - unique (small, thin, a little mushy, and oniony). HOWEVER this place is filthy!!!! I haven't seen anything like it. The floor is littered with food and debris and is sticky and wet in spots. Behind the counter was gross!!! Food debris covered both sides of the preparation counter but only one side was being used. Sandwiches dropped and discarded in and out of boxes lay on the floor, tons of chopped onions on the floor and counter. Simply put a definite health violation!
