It's a must stop when we arrive in town and at least once more before we leave! The only thing that could have made it better was if the inside seating and lobby was open... We sat for over 30+ min in the drive through. It's all good. We pulled our two cars back around and grabbed seats at an outside table and bussed things ourselves. I'm not sure what's going on here, but I've consistently had bad experiences. Yes, I've even given them multiple chances to get it right, but just doesn't seem to matter the day or time. They are listed on grubhub. However, when I've placed an order that way, the store has no record of it and is unable to provide me with any reason why. Twice I've ordered that way and both times I was left without food, without explanation and without the money. I tried to grab a quick bite after work earlier this week. The drive thru line was long so I parked to go inside. The doors were locked. So I reluctantly got into the long drive thru line. After quite a while, I got to the window to place an order. We popped in here on a late night last week. The order board was clear to read. The service was prompt and friendly. We ordered quite a few items and condiments. I was an annoying customer - ordered a french fry, then wished I had got a cheese fry... when I got to the window I asked if it could be upgraded. The employee said "of course", updated our order and didn't make me feel annoying which I appreciate. When we arrived home, all items in the order were correct, everything was hot and fresh and we had plenty of condiments. There's not much more to ask for when getting fast food. Taco Bell has a similar status among the night life elite. I remember savoring these little patties at my grandparents house from the White Castle at Hampton and Chippewa in South St. Louis City in the early 1960's. The place is in a good turn around location to grab something before heading to 270. Onion rings descent from here and horseradish mustard taste great. Forget the weird sauce they offer and stick to the horseradish mustard. Culver's or many bars have better onion rings, but these are convenient and cheap. read more

February 16,2023 around 5:30pm the women at the cash register is extremely rude, angry and ignorant. My kids love white castles so every time I go she is there and is beyond mean every time we go. I try not to let it bother me since I know she is probably late 40's maybe 50's and just hates her life and takes it out on people but this time I had to say something. She got my order wrong by giving me 6 cheeseburgers when I got the 10 cheeseburger deal with a mobile order. I told her my order was missing 4 cheeseburgers politely and she slammed the sliding door in my face and left for a while and then came back and threw a bag at me saying you only paid for 6 burgers and slammed the sliding door in my face. I had a mobile order with proof she was wrong but after I wait to talk to someone after being ignored she then argues with me saying she gave me 4 burgers for free when I had proof on my phone that was not true. I told her that I come up there and show her nothing but respect and she treats people like crap and rolls her eyes, gets an attitude and is just plain nasty and ignorant. My kids wanted water and I didn't even want to ask for a water because she is such a nasty person. I know they probably can't get good people to work there but just really hope they can talk to her about her nasty attitude because they just loss my business and will lose more if she continues to be the face people see when they come up there. 2 choices for someone that nasty and miserable, either fire her or but her in the back not working with customers. Open 24 hours! White Castle definitely does not compare to the "gourmet" sliders that are becoming more and more popular, but it is very good late night food. I actually like the chicken and fish sliders more than the regular burger sliders, though those aren't bad either. The burger meat is really thin, but you get what you paid for since they're super cheap. Their sweet potato fries are really good, but the cinnamon dipping sauce it comes with is too sweet--just eat the fries by themselves. We are from out of town and came in as a group of two families (7 people). There was no one else inside eating but us and the younger girl was very nice but the "manager" was a total ass. Our friend was waiting at the register for her cups after the lady walked away and she made a comment telling her she didn't need to stand there and watch them. Their order had to be remade because she put pickles on it and acted like it was the biggest inconvenience. If we had a dollar for every time she rolled her eyes at us we would have had free lunch and then some. The lady was just unnecessarily rude. My wife and I decided to go to the recently remodeled White Castle in Maryland Heights. I don't think we have ever gone together before, but we'd seen the advertisement for the crab cake slider and decided to give it a try. The restaurant was very clean, and the manager and staff were very nice and greeted us warmly as we walked in the door. The kitchen is open and you can easily see the staff preparing your food: also very clean. The crab cake sliders were very good: they had a hint of sweetness to them. My wife got a chicken and waffle slider, and thought it was OK, but not as good as the crab cake slider. I paired my crab cake slider with a double cheese slider, and then went back and chased that with an original White Castle. We also shared a small clam strip snacker and they were quite good also. The drive thru was pretty full, so we went inside where it was completely empty. When I sit next to a bowl of pistachios, the bowl will be empty an hour later and I will have no memory of eating them. The same happens if I sit next to an industrial-sized bin of cheeseballs. Unfortunately, this phenomenon carries over to white castle hamburgers (from now on to be referred to simply as "white castles."). When I eat all of the cheeseballs, it kinda sucks and it feels unhealthy. When I eat all of the white castles, it is an abomination. They really aren't that good. They don't have all that much flavor (though, to be fair, I take the pickles off before I eat them). If you gave me one massive white castle as wide as a pizza, there is no way in hell I would eat the whole thing. But break it up into a bunch of little burgers, and I will steadily work my way through all them. There is no doubt that I will continue to go back to White Castle on certain occasions. They are perfect on days where you can only measure how much beer you drank by "the number of hours spent drinking beer." The last time I bought a crave case was on my way to a day-long, all-dude Magic The Gathering party. Does that sound cool? Does spending a weekend with unsuccessful, overweight, nerdy males playing fantasy cards sound like something that appeals to you? Then White Castle is your restaurant. The Maryland Heights location sold me a bacon/egg toast sandwich on white bread, despite the fact that I asked when I ordered the sandwich to please toast the bread. The reason that I asked them to toast the bread is because I purchased it 2 times before and the bread wasn't toasted, although, it's pictured on the menu as toasted. Exactly what you'd expect from any White Castle at 2am. The lady behind the counter has probably worked there her whole life and the food was delicious as well as a diuretic. The main thing you might notice about this White Castle in particular is that it feels like you just ate a Klondike bar and were standing on top of mountain. And by that I mean it was colder than Siberia during a winter snowstorm. The windows of the entire building were even fogged up. So, in short, this White Castle was very up-to-par with food and service, I would just suggest using the drive through or bringing your thickest winter coat and maybe lighting a trash can fire if you plan on eating inside. read more
