We had a wonderful group meal here after attending a recital at the Steinway Gallery nearby. Although we had a large group of 15 people, they were able to accommodate us by pushing together a few large tables. The best entrees we tried were the chicken satay (so flavorful and tender) and the yellow curry with rice. My friends liked the pad thai and the pineapple fried rice. Wanted curry for lunch. Thought we'd try this place. I had the Bangkok Noodle dish. It was good not spectacular but it was ground beef over egg noodles with some onions, tomatoes and good spices thrown in. My friend got the yellow curry. Wowza!! I will get that when I order from here again and I WILL order from here again. The drawbacks were all the added prices... delivery fee, service fee and we had to pay $2.99 for rice to eat with the curry. Honestly, when I first reviewed Thai Kitchen, I didn't know too much about Thai Food. But after eating at multiple different Thai restaurants throughout St Louis and other cities. They don't have the typical "super authentic" Thai food with crazy thai spices. Their food has a hint of Chinese flair to it since the owners are Chinese. Honestly though, that doesn't bother me, and I think I prefer that compared to the normal. Thai Kitchen is my new favorite Thai place in town (portions are very solid, and prices are 8-15 dollars per dish) I've been here more than 10 times now, and my favorite things are definitely the Tom-Yum Noodle Soup, and Beef Curry Soup, and Crying Tiger. They also are on groupon randomly (not all the time) that causes the food to be a very very good price. read more

They give such large orders that we decided on 1 order of Pad Thai Chicken and 1 order Pineapple fried rice. Each dish was about 15.00 each when previously the price for each was about 12.00. Our food arrived hot and was delicious. Only thing they forgot to add was the updated menu, listing current prices. I had looked up online prior to ordering, so price increase did not come as a surprise. We have so much food left over that we both will attempt to finish tomorrow. Who knows, these 2 dishes might be stretched for 3 days. They truly have generous portions. The gentleman who took our order over the phone was polite - still wished he tossed in that new menu. I had to ask for things over & over & over, my server completely disappeared in the middle of my dining experience and I was only 1 of 2 tables, I never got a water refill, never asked if my meal was ok, when I did need something I had to get up from my table and go ask the lady at the counter who acted as if she was so preoccupied with tallying receipts and taking phone orders it made me feel as if I was bothering her. Finally I had to go up again and request a take out container after I had waited forever for the server to return. This would be an indication that I was done and ready for the bill. Food: -The entree portions are big, but they don't come cheap. -The chicken satay was decent as it should be at a place that dares to call itself a Thai restaurant. -Yellow curry, nothing magical -Pad thai and pad see u, the noodles were surprisingly too dry and too stale. I can't believe I've had more legit pad thai from Noodles & Co. Unacceptable. -Roti with condensed milk, ok so you microwave a piece of roti and squeeze some condensed milk on there and sell it for a ~300% profit, great, thanks for ripping me off. This place really went downhill. I was very disappointed with my dinner. We walked into the place and noticed that due to lack of employees they're doing takeout containers and paper plates. I feel that is wasteful. Instead, maybe it's a better idea to limit the amount of people they serve in a day because honestly the food was so bad and they could focus on better customer service and better food. The gentleman who took our order was not nice at all. I asked if I can have Thai ice coffee and if it was sweet or not and he responded with "I don't know, it's already pre made". I'm surprised how do you not know what you're serving. I got the massuman curry with tofu and it was average and somewhat spicy. The pad see yu was sweet and what used to be my favorite tum yum soup was sour with soggy noodles. I was surprised even the papaya salad wasn't tasty and it was sooo sour. Love this place! I usually end up coming here at least once every time I come back home and it's always really great. The waitress that usually serves me is really friendly and will remember you by name if you come here often enough. I usually get the Green Curry but thought I'd switch it up and get the Yellow Curry. To be honest, I didn't really taste any difference between the two besides the obvious difference in vegetables. I guess it's also been a while since I've been here, and my taste buds could have just been craving the coconut cream base. The portions are also really big for the price. 2.5 stars for filling food that tasted okay and quick service (though it wasn't super friendly) I came here for a quick lunch with my friends while on break from a conference at the Westport Sheraton chalet hotel. We picked it because it was close to the hotel, cheap, and we were hoping fast. It was definitely fast! No frills kind of service, but our orders were taken promptly and our food arrived within 15 minutes, even though the restaurant was about half full and we had 6 people. I had the pad see ew, which looked really good, but as soon as I started eating, my tongue was overwhelmed by the salty brown sauce. I still ate most of it because I was hungry, but it would have been more enjoyable if it wasn't so dang salty! The portions of pork were great and the pork was cooked well. Maybe I'm picky about Thai food having spent some time in the country. It's a cuisine that, when done right, is hard to top. Thai Kitchen, at least on my one visit, is a mixed bag when it comes to food with a high price relative to that quality, iffy service and atmosphere making it far from worth it. Certainly the crowds at Thai Kitchen would say I'm in the minority. In what seemed like a relatively quiet strip mall, this place was bustling for lunch the time I went there with some work colleagues. A long line of people checking out wound through the tables as we looked for a place to sit. We were directed to a seemingly freshly cleaned, but not freshly dried table against the wall. It smelled a little too much like an overchlorinated public pool... not the best scent ahead of any meal. Service throughout didn't improve on that first impression. Our waitress was mostly absent for the meal, leaving drinks low and the table confused when it came time to pay up. I ordered the chicken panang curry and was.... disappointed to say the least. It was lacking in spice, with sub-standard chicken pieces thrown into a slightly too-thick sauce with big chunks of bell pepper. In fairness, I may have just chosen poorly. The Tom Yum soup my friend ordered was a small step up in quality and my other friend's yellow curry noodle soup had a sauce that was close to great. Even so, the high prices, questionable service and lack of atmosphere are more than enough for me to pass on a return visit.
