French Toast Muffin Sundae with no sauce. Divine!!!
    Sue C.

Very good place! Home cooking at it's finest. 1. Went for lunch and got the Corned Beef & Cabbage meal. Ate it too fast so didn't get a picture :). Brought me back to my childhood when my mom used to make it every year on St. Patrick's Day. The Meat was delicious and was the most tender I've ever had. 2. Highly recommend the Muffin Sundae which I snarfed down. There are different flavored muffins (French Toast, Blueberry, Cranberry Orange) and you also get a choice of Chocolate or Caramel Sauce. I opted to pass on the sauce and selected the French Toast muffin. With the vanilla ice cream and whipped cream, it really hit the spot. 3. Got the Chocolate Guinness cake to go which was great as well. I'm going back very soon to snag some of their seafood chowder which I hear a lot of good things about. The BLT with avocado looks like a winner as well. Their specials are made daily by the owner from scratch. Friendly staff and warm atmosphere. Can't wait to go back.

Ummm.. it's $3.00 for 4 fried (frozen) onion rings. I thought it was a mistake and inquired, waitress was embarrassed to say yes

Breakfast with fine except for the home fries. They were tiny little cubes that were not made there. Not very tasty at all.

Portions were extremely small from what they use to be. Toast and home fries were undercooked. Nice people tho.

My boyfriend, 1 year old daughter & I came in to try the food as we were staying less than 10 mins down the road at Great Wolf Lodge. The pecan rolls & corn fritters were amazing!!! Especially dipped in the maple syrup! We got a kids chicken tenders & fries which was a great portion! Fish & chips & teriyaki steak tips with fries. We were starving after swimming all day and ate every bit because of how great all the food was. Nice beers to choose from & I had a yummy pomegranate marg. They were so accommodating of our overtired toddler as well. Thank you to our server Cera for doing a great job! When we're in the area, we will definitely return. We almost didn't come here because the reviews didn't all look great but we are SO glad we tried it! If you have a good experience here definitely urging you to leave a nice review (: Also love the ambiance of downstairs with cozy tables , warm lighting and the nice fireplace. Bread basket includes the pecan rolls the restaurant is known for, and corn fritters (yum!) We liked the spinach artichoke dip and chicken broccoli alfredo (which came with a humongous piece of fried breaded chicken). The southwest chicken salad was okay, the chicken was a bit dry and the ranch dressing was a bit thicker than I expected, but the corn and avocado made up for this. The food took a while to come out but our server was great.

Sausage Scrambler (4/5): This dish was the perfect size to finish in one sitting without feeling gross-full. The eggs were scrambled-in with the tasty sausage chunks. The gravy was missing a little extra peppery umph given its advertised as a "white pepper gravy" -- but just my take. The home fries potato chunks were tender and flavorful. Overall still a very tasty brunch meal! Irish Eggs Benedict (5/5): My buddy ordered this and I had plate-envy. This dish was beautifully made with melt-in-your-mouth corned beef underneath two perfectly poached eggs and a creamy but not too thick hollandaise sauce. Service (5/5): We were seated right away with no delay upon walking in the door. Our server was incredibly attentive, helpful with recommendations, and kindly refilled our coffee throughout the meal. TL;DR: Absolutely recommend stopping in for your breakfast needs.

This is definitely a local place that is not a breakfast "destination" for out of towners. On street parking.

I first heard of Country Girl after watching Chronicle approx. 2 year ago. The whole experience was awesome! We ordered drinks immediately after taking our seats at the counter. I had a pepsi and I had to order a vanilla milk shake to go! My wife had water and coffee. We wanted to get our order in because we felt like the staff was nice enough to let us in that we didn't want to stall them from getting out at closing. My wife had grilled cheese with tomato soup. I had a burger with fries. My wife was thrilled with the soup. She said it was the best tomato soup she has had in a long time! My fries were excellent. home made and tasty!
